Throughout many years, education in school seems to have become more about the grade and not how well the student understands the class. To many kids it is important to get good grades, but is it possible that kids with lower grades can still know more about the class subject than those with higher grades? By students in schools worrying more about their letter grade, it can lead them to spend their energy just making the grade rather than spending their time in class actually learning about the subject. Each student learns in a different way, which is why it’s complicated to grade each student the same. The main courses in school are math, science, English, and history. Each of these classes can have a lot of work and students can stress over it because they want a good grade for each of those classes. However, by …show more content…

They feel that they should be given options for classes such as how to do taxes, apply for college, how to fix their car, etc. By having classes that help students become more prepared for everyday things, they will have more interest in the course and not stress so much over getting a good grade while gaining nothing from the class. To go along with that, school has become a lot about memorizing the notes or equations and testing student on their memorization rather than knowledge. As an example, one student could have a 100%, or an A, in a class but have walked out not really knowing anything other than what they had to memorize for the test. But another student who doesn’t do their homework as often could know an extent amount about the topic of the class but not rewarded for their knowledge because they didn’t finish the work. Other situations of students having similar issues are the fact that some students take tests better than others. A student could be really smart but be a horrible test taker and therefor lower their final
