Walking to my car on a cool fall day makes me happy. I love the fall it is my favorite time of year, because the leaves are changing and you have to wear a jacket in the morning. It just smells different. The great outdoors is my favorite place because I feel free and the sights and sounds just relax me. I also get to enjoy many fun outdoor activities. I love the great outdoors. When i'm in school all day sitting at a desk listening to teachers I feel real confined. I just keep thinking about all the things I could be doing outside. That's why school is hard for me sometimes. When the weather is nice outside I would rather be there. The outdoors is like freedom to me. I can go outside and get away from everybody and everything. You can close your eyes hear the animals moving around, running water of a creek, and the wind blowing through the air. There is no people talking and no cars going by. This helps a person clear their mind. It doesn't cost anything either. I can't believe people pay a person a lot of money to listen to them when they could just go take a walk in the woods for free. I am lucky my dad has ground that I can spend my time on. I remember the first time I went into the woods. My little brother and sister did something they wasn't supposed to do and I got in trouble and got grounded. I was so mad and upset so I went for a walk on all the trails out at my dad's house. So by the time I hit the second trail I was already calmed down because it was just really relaxing. That is when I really started to enjoy the outdoors. There is lots of things people can do in the outdoors. They can hunt, play sports, ride dirtbikes and four wheelers, and fish. I like to do all these things. I mainly ride four wheelers and dirtbikes at my dad's house, because he has 5 acres of nothing but woods and trails. So I spend a lot of time doing that. Sometimes I like to just walk the trails and make new ones. I also have a race track at my dad's house with jumps and sharp curves. Whenever I hit a jump or come flying sideways out of a corner it just gets my adrenaline going and my blood pumping. Doing that kind of stuff makes me feel so free and helps me relieve a lot of stress
the gym often and that running is a very important part of the workout. Having hobbies is
When riding dirt bikes or any type of off-road vehicle it is some of the funnest time you will ever have. Sometimes it’s just a time to have fun and hang out with your friends but the others time its for racing and be competitive. But it all come down to what you enjoy,I like to do both. This is can be fun with your family, you can go to race and be competitive, and the most funniest part is when you are going fast and you have to keep from wrecking and get hurt.
As a child going outside was something that excited you. The freedom of running through the grass or climbing the trees was something that always excited you. As times change and technology improves going outside is not a happy thought anymore. In John Stilgoe’s Outside Lies Magic and Rachel Carson’s The Sense of Wonder, they both discuss the feelings you get while going outside and the importance why we should go outside. Though both have different reasons why we should both books are relevant to today.
Camping, hiking, kayaking, rafting, mountaineering, and backpacking are all recreational activities that a group of people may do together when visiting the park. Flightseeing, birdwatching, and sport fishing are other activities people may do
Most of the time it is just around my grandpa’s pasture and woods or in the back of my neighbor’s property. We are lucky enough to have trails so close to us, but we also like going to Black River Falls, Wisconsin to ride on the trails up there. Receiving my first four wheeler when I was five was a big deal to me. I thought I was the coolest person in the world riding around the yard in my plastic, battery powered four wheeler that ran out of juice every 30 minutes. Once I grew out of it and became responsible
Curling up under the covers, closing ones eyes, and just clearing the mind is something very satisfying that a person can easily do.... ... middle of paper ... ... They had played it at a prom once when he could not afford the luxury of proms, and he had stood outside the gymnasium and listened.
When ever you go out riding whether it be for pleasure or for sport, on-or off-road
Being out in the woods is meaningful to me because, of the excitement I get out of observing deer in their habitat and the challenges that are presented by the sport of hunting. Once that deer is close enough that I can see it my adrenaline starts to pump and my heart starts to beat a little faster. The excitement that comes with seeing a deer is great, but it is even better if the deer is in shooting range. I have been bow hunting for two years and am already hooked on it because of the anticipation of getting a shot off at a big buck, but watching the deer and how they react in their own habitat is ne...
Throughout the A.T. backpackers experience wildlife and challenges that help them in various ways. Self-confidence is a great skill accomplished as well as self discovery and commitment. The time it takes gives travelers time to discover themselves while walking the beautiful trail. Hikers who hike for a hobby and/or exercise also take away experiences from a trail traveled by many. Whether traveled non stop or by sections, the Appalachian Trail is a great adventure for almost any hiker to enjoy.
Most spots are wooded enough to create shade in the majority of each campsite, and each site is separated from each other by trees. There are many activities to do at and near the campground. You can pick up a newspaper outlining the nice hiking trails and other activities to do. There are about a dozen trails on the campground, and they each differ in length and level of difficulty. Just make sure to stay hydrated when going on a hike.

learning. For example, in secondary school, students are required to finish the “Other Learning Experiences” programs. It aims to expand students’ learning contexts instead of simply learning in the classroom. While some school hold more outdoor activities as they agree that outdoor activities is beneficial for students, others reject it and continue to use the traditional classroom teaching. This essay examines both sides of for and against arguments of having more outdoor learning activities.
There were some trails nearby that we were able to take. These trails are both manmade and at the same time formed by nature. The trails were manmade in the sense that over time, the bikes have worn away the grass and plants to make just a dirt trail. These trails were mostly formed by nature though, the way the land tilts, where the trees are, rivers, valleys, hills anything out in a forest can and will determine where these trails go. As we ride through these trails, not only is it amazing to see how everything has formed, but you can also observe wildlife as you go through. At one point we are heading down a slight hill, and then two deer run across the trail not 25 feet ahead of us. This leads to us stopping for a couple minutes as we watch those deer run off into the unknown of the forest. When we finish up with the biking, it is nice to know that there are still some areas that are mostly untouched by man, and allowed to take the course that nature would have
Calming my mind by hiking is one of my favorite things to do in my leisure time. I become so content from being able to forget about the usual troubles that are constantly bouncing around inside my head. Not having to worry if I will be able to get my rent in on time, or worry about if I remembered to lock the front door, which I so often forget to do, it frees my mind up for more happy and productive thoughts. Walking for days alone in the woods brings me such euphoria. A high comparable to one someone would get off of taking amphetamines. Although it may seem like a contradiction to my prior statement about being having a free mind, but when my mind is like this I can focus on so many things. Issues I had before don 't seem like issues anymore, the
Outdoor recreation is something that everyone needs. Finding that place within yourself that allows you to forget about everything. Whether that be playing with your kids in the nearby park, fishing with your grandfather, hiking with someone or just by yourself you learn something new about yourself. Some people use recreation to forget about something and they use being outside as a calming effect. Williams and Stewart (1998) believe that nature, as a place, creates an emotion bond, has a complex meaning to the person, and that people have this draw back to the place. To get the same feeling that someone would get while doing an activity in nature to simulate Williams and Stewart’s (1998) belief, I recently participated in an
