I plan to be the first one in my family to be accepted into a four-year college and earn a Bachelor's degree. My dream is to pursue a career in which I can assist and encourage people to achieve and acquire knowledge; a teacher. I want to major in English during my four years in college and also earn my teaching credentials. My plan is to abet those who struggle with comprehending English as I once did. I grew up only knowing Spanish and so did my mom. She struggled with speaking English, and I always had to translate for her growing up. I witnessed how at times this language barrier negatively affected her. Eventually, she took English courses and all the negative emotions she beared vanished. As a child, I wished to never see anyone else struggle with a language barrier because they could not afford classes or education. Due to this past experience, I understand how scrimmaging it is to grasp another language, and I also fathom the advantage that exists for those who speak and comprehend the sublime language that is called English. Usage of English language has its purpose, to convey meaning and understanding to a certain audience. But how does that affect one who does not speak or understand the language? I have lived in the United States for almost three years now. Being natively of Bangladeshi origin, I experience an extremely different lifestyle than Americans do. It is the lifestyle experienced by those you come from other countries to live in the U.S. Being part of this international community, I am more sensitive to and hence aware of issues that primarily affect the lives of these kinds of people than Americans are. Of these many issues, there is one I have identified that comes up in discussions more frequently than others. The issue I am referring to is that of the language barrier that exists between those whose primary language is English and those whose primary language is not English.

They get higher positions in jobs quickly, depending on their knowledge and also they can work as language translators for other immigrants who don’t speak English. This could actually be a job category with growth. Knowing English helps immigrants feel less isolated from their new community of English-speakers. They are able to socialize, make purchases, and function daily with their neighbors, their teachers, and their colleagues at
