Why I Chose English

My educational goal is to graduate high school with a 4.1 GPA and attend a four-year college. I plan to be the first one in my family to be accepted into a four-year college and earn a Bachelor's degree. My dream is to pursue a career in which I can assist and encourage people to achieve and acquire knowledge; a teacher. I want to major in English during my four years in college and also earn my teaching credentials. My plan is to abet those who struggle with comprehending English as I once did. I grew up only knowing Spanish and so did my mom. She struggled with speaking English, and I always had to translate for her growing up. I witnessed how at times this language barrier negatively affected her. Eventually, she took English courses and all the negative emotions she beared vanished. As a child, I wished to never see anyone else struggle with a language barrier because they could not afford classes or education. Due to this past experience, I understand how scrimmaging it is to grasp another language, and I also fathom the advantage that exists for those who speak and comprehend the sublime language that is called English. There are various job opportunities for those who can speak in English in a non-English speaking country. It was the first honor course I studied, and the first advanced class which encouraged me to succeed and excel in school. It motivated me to accomplish goals as a result of it demonstrating that I bear the potential to achieve in school, no matter what economic obstacle I carry, for my educational knowledge can still take me to places. I also wish to follow this path since I have previously taught children before and have cherished every second of it.
