At the Muncie police department victim advocacy, I have increased my ability of communication in a few different ways. The first way that I have increased my communication skills is in the writing area. The way that I have increased my writing skills is by writing briefs about the police reports that come in to the office. The police reports that come in the victim advocate officer are ones that deal with people who have been victimized (battery, domestic violence, or threats of harm). The reason why I write briefs about this is because they have to be put into a police outreach system where letters are sent out to the victim offering the services of the victim advocate office. These briefs have taught me to provide as much information as possible
I saw an email a couple of weeks ago inquiring about becoming a victim advocate. But Shane never got back with me, so I forgot about it, but now I see I am on the roster with a short notice training requirement. So do you think this position will be beneficial to me and the J4 as a whole?
Non-government organisations (NGO) are a diverse group of private organisations set up to engage in a wide variety of activities such as building schools, reporting on human rights, advocacy of the poor, climate change and disease prevention. Interviewing is something that we experience everyday. It is done at home when we speak to our family, it is done at work when we talk to coworkers, it is even done when we go to eat out and talk with the waitress. Interview is a controlled conversation that is done in order to gain information in order to obtain facts (Maze, 2017). In policing, interviewing is an important part of an investigation. When done correctly, it can lead an investigation to success. For this assignment, I will observe a video and talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the interviewer during his interview with a victim. The video is an interview between an individual, who can be assumed to be a police officer, along with a victim.

Miss Lynn Peterson is an LPC NCC. She graduated from Mississippi State in May of 2014 and joined a practice the following September. She works with anxiety, trauma, and grief patients; this is her general population. I contacted Miss Peterson because I saw that she was interested in trauma; I am interested in PTSD and working with veterans. I was interested to find that her favorite population to work with are grief patients. I could tell she was very enthused about making people happy about themselves, and I found this delightful. Miss Peterson sounded very genuine and caring over the phone. I understood why she was in this profession, it was just very natural for her; I hope it is the same for me.

As of 2013, there is an estimated population of 157,332 people living in Cumberland County (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/34/34011.html). This means there are roughly 21,082 people living in poverty in the county. Several local organizations have been created to help combat this social issue, such as Spirit & Truth Ministries and Help & Hope. Although both organizations fight for a worthy cause, Spirit & Truth Ministries is a more effective program than Help & Hope because it can assist people more frequently, serve more people, and offer clients a variety of services.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a novel that explores many aspects of a community in the 1920’s. Set in the fictional town of Maycomb, shown to be a peaceful town on the outside while harbouring unseen conflicts within. Disagreements within the novel are started when society's moral laws are taken to the limit or broken, resulting in an outcome of a victor and a victim. These titles are given according to a person’s social status and not on basis of competition. The motif of victors and victims present throughout the novel is represented by characters of varying status and is enhanced by characterization, setting, and literary devices.
The fair and decent treatment of victims by the system can help them to some extent to get over their victimization. Moving forward, the aim to search for the causes of victimization and search for remedies or prevention are the first priority. Communication is a way of conveying information and ideas to better understand communication between law enforcement officers and the community. I believe it helps deal with issues of trust among law enforcement officials and society. It will be our mission to establish this trust and communication between officers of this agency and society. This plan will make it conceivable to target the community and to effectively communicate with the public which will aid the agency to be efficient and effectively better communicators. Send officers to school to teach them effective ways to communicate with the public. Events occur when officers don’t effectively communicate their ideas with the public, they may not listen to orders officers are attempting to relay. If this is the case, something simple can turn into something worse. By improving communication between law enforcement officers and the community there will be more trust and less unease around the officers. What will the public gain
Acts of violence are choices that individuals make. Unfortunately, it is the people who are harmed by violent acts that often receive negative responses from society. Victim blaming is a depreciative act that occurs when the victims of a crime are held responsible for the crimes that have been committed against them. Although a common and widespread occurrence, the act of victim blaming generally goes unnoticed by the public due to scarcity of information.

The interview I conducted was with a client services officer who has been in working within the police service for 23 years, and has been in her current role for almost 6 years now. To communicate effectively, one must understand the emotion behind the information being said. Knowing how to communicate effectively can improve relationships one has at home, work and in social affairs. Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
