Leadership is a process of effective influence, which maximizes the efforts of the people, towards the achievement of a goal. Leaders might be of many different kinds and we can say that each field of our existence in a civil society demands specific leaders. It involves guiding the team towards the target and communicating it to the people. Then inspiring, motivating and empowering them to achieve organisational goals. According to James Macgregor Burns, Leadership is “the reciprocal process of mobilizing by persons with certain motives and values, various economic, political and other resources in a context of competition and conflict, in order to realize goals independently or mutually held by both leaders and followers” (James Macgregor Burns, Leadership. New York: Harper & Row, 1978, p. 425). Developing Leadership qualities requires anyone to know his/her positives and negatives and a continuous effort to develop his/her skills, attitude, and knowledge. Business leaders are required to possess a different qualities than those of political and community leaders. Successful business leaders have often demonstrated the following qualities;
• Reliability, positive attitude and pro-activeness
• a clear knowledge & understanding of organisational goals and problems
• a constant endeavour towards meeting defined targets
• an ability to effectively communicate organisational goals
• commitment to their team and to their organisation
• effectiveness in planning and developing strategies

Teams of newer employees will appreciate having their expectations laid out before them, but if you’re highly transactional, it might stress them out. Recognizing your dominant leadership style is a good place to start in understanding what kind of leader you are. Knowing about other leadership styles, and using them when necessary, is the next step in your leadership evolution. Leadership at times can be a complex topic to delve into and may appear to be a simple and graspable concept for a certain few. Leadership skills are not simply acquired through position, seniority, pay scale, or the amount of titles an individual holds but is a characteristic acquired or is an innate trait for the fortunate few who possess it. Leadership can be misconstrued with management; a manager “manages” the daily operations of a company’s work while a leader envisions, influences, and empowers the individuals around them.
This paper first explains the three articles covered by this study to allow the reader to be informed about its topics. After reading these explanations one could be better prepared to understand the following comparisons, contrasts, conclusion, and recommendations. The first article is written by researchers Wright and Panley (2010) and discusses some unexpected findings for transformational leadership in non-private organizations. The second article is an outstanding article written by researchers Emery and Baker (2007) which examines the findings of transformational and reward based leaderships on customer service personnel and its effects on customer satisfaction. The third article is an excellent article written by researchers El-Gazzar, Fornaro, and Jacob (2008) which studies the voluntary disclosure of the Reports of Management’s Responsibilities (RMRs) to the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its benefits for the related organization.
In business, leadership is defined as developing of a clear goal, involving others by establishing trusting relationships to share the goal, giving the information and tools to accomplish that goal, and leading and managing the differences between the members of the organization (MaRS, 2012). Harvard Business School professor and leadership author John Kotter said that leaders construct a bright future by associating people with the vision, and motivating them to succeed in spite of the difficulties. Efficacious organizational leadership can avail prioritize objectives for assistants and can offer supervision toward reaching the corporate goal.
Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. Leadership is leading a group of people or company to reach a result or further and the organization. A leader is supposed to be an example of how all employees are expected to act and what they should be striving for. Good leaders also don’t use their position within a company to take advantage of the company and its employees. A good leader is supposed to be able to perform their job with high standards, efficiency, and honor. According to Robert Townsend, “A leader is not an administrator who loves to run others, but someone who carries water for his people so that they can get on with their jobs” (2013). A good leader will support his or hers employees because a leader is not judged on their own actions, but they are judge on the success of those that they support. In the modern era, we look at business leaders in the same way that historians view military commanders or kings of the past.
In generally, I want to possess a leisure leadership, which empower members to express their ideas and use their creativity to accomplish their tasks. In addition, I would like to listen to members’ ideas and make final decisions after comparing and evaluating their ideas; therefore, if I was a leader, I would encourage diversity and innovation of my members. In order to an effective leader, I still have to develop various skills such as collaboration skill, communication skill, and task-taking skill. First, to become a good leader, I should motivate the cooperation of among my members and continually request feedbacks from my members about their collaboration to make them feel like they are contributor of our team’s success. Second, I should develop effective communication skill to clearly explain the mission and policies of our team to my members to help behave properly. Third, I also need to develop risk-taking skill, which not only means that I should have confident and courage to take risks, but also means I should have problem solving skills to comply with risks and challenges.

The five practices of exemplary leadership include: Model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart. In the Leadership Challenge, Kouzes and Posner found similar patterns and actions of leadership that created the essentials to achieve success.
