Individual Reflection
On the 14th March, Delta Squad had presented the first business pitch for the team business challenge project named Toast of Love. The team of Goody were reviewed our team, Delta Squad and given an overall feedback score of 3 out of 5. Even through, the score is not bad but there were constructive suggestion which given by Team Goody in regard to the team the performance of teamwork and presentation slide itself. However, these criticisms will be discussed on below.
Visual and Standard of the Slides
One of the criticism concerned that our team slide doesn’t have much information regarding to the problem of the company. I strongly agree that simplest slide without much of words might not able to reach the audience

According to KRETCHMAR (2013) stated market research which uses to collect data about markets and customers for the purpose of improving business outcome. In another word market research is use to make an optimal business decision. I agree that a deep research such a knowing the target market which the team planned to target is one of the criteria should be include. By conduct market research, it allows our team to lower down the risk of the business challenge’s company that might face in the future and it also helps the company to monitor their competitor as well. Furthermore, by understand the concept of market research, I will ensure that the results of further research will be include in our team final report and business pitch. Applying the knowledge of market research is able to provide a good recommendation for further expansion in three years …show more content…
By reviewed another group’s overall presentation skills and the project outline which allowed me fully focus on their presentation and giving high standard of comments. Moreover, through reviewing team Goody’s presentation will be a great learning opportunity to strengthen my skills.
Being a reviewer, I commented members of Team Goody should give their audience a clear explanation regarding to their project idea. Besides, team Goody should precise with timing with their slides. As Lucas and Rawlins (2015) mentioned, a good speakers should time themselves well during their presentation. Furthermore, the marketing objectives can be more specific by follow the SMART’s requirement and make sure the marketing strategies are able to attract their target market. A success business should include goals that are specific and measurable as this could help a firm to avoid the risk that they might face (Guimaraes & Paranjape 2017)
Improvement will be shown when there is a high quality of feedback which given by the assessor. A well fact that discussed by Li, Liu & Steckelberg (2010), being an assessor or assessee will build a relationship of mutual support. This means that students able to improve their skills and knowledge by knowing their mistakes and turns these mistakes into an opportunity to upgrade
I never made presentation in front of “foreigners” in English before, so I was very nervous, however, the feedbacks from professor and other student were very important. I used the form, short story, but after the presentation, professor told me that I cannot use short story as form and some students suggested me to use an advertisement to convey my message. My project’s target was also kind of ambiguous. I did not specify the audience, actually I did not come up the audience of my project, but when I finished the presentation I realize who my audience is. In the end I used news report as my form and made university students as my
It is vital for any presentation a well develop organization, is important to communicate with efficiency and clarity, a bad communication can turn out to be an unrealized business, or a misunderstood task. Although knowledgeable speakers, need to be prepare before giving a speech. When speakers rehearsed their presentations, they will deliver a good speech because they will look secured, prepared, and knowledge about the topic they are talking about. This will engage the audience, allowing the speakers to achieve the result desired which is persuade the listener to be involved in their projects. On the other hand,
The process of market research is assembling information, analyzing its value, and interpreting market information about products or services to be presented for sale in a particular market (McDaniel & Gates, 2006). Market research is also about historical, current and future customers for the product or service being researched. Market research as stated by McDaniel and Gates, (2006) is a combination of characteristics, spending trends, position and the needs of the firm’s target market, the industry the firm is working in, and the firms competitors.
In conclusion I feel that using effective assessment methods throughout any course allows tutors to give feedback at the right time to allow the correct progress for the learners to achieve. I have experienced feedback many times as coach and more recently as a teacher and feel it has only helped me to improve and to keep wanting to improve so I can inspire others to achieve.
Karli, James and Scout, in their article (2013), “Economic Validation for Performance Improvement Initiative Based on a Strategic Team Development Campaign” pose the question, “Can team development increase revenue?” Such was their study conducted at a selected major casino, and they endeavored to sample the impacts on creating teams in an organization to boost revenue. The Casino’s executive management considered the values of implementing team-building aspects, in their endeavor to improve customer services and overcome low customer turnout, owing to the low spending trends of the customers (Karli, James & Scout, 2013). Besides, owing to the numerous emerging and current casinos offering similar services, team building would aid significantly in creating a competitive advantage. This compelled the management to implement teamwork within all the departments of the casino, from the top management to the lowest ranks of housekeeping.
At the beginning I was really afraid to express my opinion about my team project, but all my team members are really friendly and willing to listen to my opinions. I really had good time while doing this project, as a communicator in my group, I made Google doc to let every member give their own opinions and that is also a good method to discuss our project online. Moreover, I designed the PowerPoint and provided lots of pictures to make our project wonderful. For our presentation, even though I felt so nervous and could not speak well on my presentation, my team members are really nice and encourage me a lot. For the team paper, I divided into four parts to discuss more details about our main points of the topic; at first I thought that it would be difficult to do this part, yet one of my team members used interesting way, Rock-paper-scissors, it is a fair way to do it, and every members are willing to do this. In short, I really enjoyed doing this project and had great time with all of my team
We took this time to gather everyone's notes and discuss what were relevant and irrelevant for the presentation. Everyone had different opinions which could have created some difficulties as not every team member would agree with each other. However, all of us did examine more on our materials for the presentation and talked about it. This can be seen as the monitor evaluator from Belbin team roles. A monitor evaluator analyses situations and always finding solutions to problems. For instance, I did research on Elton Mayo's Theory and took Tesco as an example for the presentation. Before that, I had to do some readings and write down the points before sharing and discussing ideas with my team members. This is not only for my own knowledge, my members would know what I will be contributing for the presentation so they know where to continue. Hence, the presentation would be more organised. Nevertheless, according to a research, the monitor evaluator tends to have an inability to inspire others. This is possibly accurate as I was more concentrating on my own materials than what my team members had to
This self-awareness is integral to the assessment process as it allows individuals to understand where they stand in terms of skills, competencies, and achievements. Feedback helps in aligning expectations and goals. By providing specific, actionable feedback, individuals gain a clearer understanding of what is expected of them. This clarification is crucial in the assessment process as it sets the criteria against which performance is measured. Constructive feedback acknowledges and validates the progress an individual has made.
After re watching my own presentation I have noticed many different things that I didn’t think of or notice when I was originally presenting it. While watching it some of the things that I think I did well on where first my talking. This is something that I know I did better on because I did my presentation a little different from everyone else. Another thing that I think worked well for my presentation was the word to picture ratio. I felt like I did a good job not putting my entire script on the screen but enough to give the class a good summery about what I was talking about. Some areas of the rubric that I still think I need to work on is being more specific on answering the essential question making it more obvious as to what my over
... After gaining the needed education on the matter, they were able to concentrate on the benefits that effective communication holds. All companies should strive to understand the art of communication and continually improve their skills while adapting to an ever changing world.
When team three was given the semester project, there was not much in the way of forming team goals, we just stepped up to the cliff and jumped. As a team we took on each assignment when it was given, there was not much thinking about the big picture; instead, we just did the assignments as they came along. This hindered us in the fact that some of the sections in our project may not have been as deeply researched as they should have been. We also did not set very strong individual goals for the semester either, our code of cooperation seemed to be taken as a joke and no one was ever held responsible for the rules laid down at the beginning of the semester. The rules of being on time and contributing during meets were never enforced.
Furthermore. I put a lot of effort and time in my presentation, proposal, and the case study report. Not to mention, I considered a wide range of topic before choosing to do my case study on “police brutality in the United States.” Moreover, I put a lot of time and effort in preparing my PowerPoint for the presentation. I believe that my presentation went well. Although I
After a review of my performance in the assigned group, I have learned a great deal about myself and behavior in the team-setting situation. This is not the first experience in a team-setting. Previous team setting experiences were conducted in sporting and recreational environments rather than academics. While the setting and the environments were indeed different, there were many commonalities and correlations between the team settings I previously experiences and the current academic team-setting experience for this academic course project.
Briefly it is a systematic design, collection, analysis, and reporting of data and findings relevant to a specific marketing situation facing the company, allows management to make the changes necessary for better results through adopting a proactive approach. Therefore, if a company wants to know what type of products or services would be profitable it should make a market research. Furthermore, a comprehensive research will enable the company to know about the product imperfections (if there are) and to know if it has been able to satisfy customers’ needs. It attempts to provide accurate information that reflects a true state of affairs. Due to market research the company can formulate a viable marketing plan and estimate the success of its existing plan. There are two main sources of marketing research information:
The premise behind marketing research helps provide a company’s decision makers the information intelligence needed to make daily decisions (McDaniel & Gates, 2006). The data obtained gives insight to the performance of the current marketing mix while also providing insights to potential changes to future programs (McDaniel & Gates, 2006). Marketing research is a key driver to help define new ideas and initiatives that could improve company or product performance.
