Funding music therapy in public school special education will benefit more people than just the students receiving the service. Music therapy can be used in conjunction with other special education services and therapies to create the most effective treatment for maintaining or improving the lives of the children in special
I would love to know that I could make such a big impact on a child’s life. In my opinion, teachers have an impact on the life of every student they ever have in class. The appearance of the classroom has a big effect on how smoothly the class will go. The seating arrangement in my classroom is in a U shape. It will be better with classroom discussion to have the students facing each other.
School psychologists are using a technique called reform or restructuring, which is assisting the students to become better learners. According to the book Collaborative Consultation in the Schools, a school consultation is a process for providing psychological and educational services in which a specialist (consultant) works cooperatively with a staff member (consultee) to improve the learning and adjustment of a student (client) or group of students. Their goals and objectives can help give direction to the ways they can be of assistance to teachers in terms of methods, curriculum reinforcement systems, parental support, and classroom management issues. Although the teachers are at the center of the debate over how much weight should be given to student achievement within a performance assessment and what measures or indicators best represent student growth, the school psychologist and other related services personnel recognize that they will soon be compell...
In veterinary medicine, there are a few different positions you can undertake within the profession. In those positions, you can also specialize in close to 40 different specialties. Here are the 3 main positions:
Did you know that five million to seven million companion animals enter shelters nationwide each year? Spaying and neutering pets needs to be supported by more communities of people. The American Kennel Club (AKC) is opposed to mandatory sterilization, they state that it, “creates a hardship for responsible breeders.” Spaying and neutering is typically seen by a majority of the population as inhumane and an unnecessary violation of animal rights. The American Veterinary Medical Associations recommend that state and local governments develop effective dog and cat population control programs. Who is to decide what is “effective” enough for the populations, and how would it be done if spaying and neutering is not supported? The spaying and neutering
Seeing maimed animals are not pleasant images. Those images sometimes appear across computer and television screens. The advocacy groups who place these images in the public’s view are trying to jolt people into the realization that abuse exists. For every ten seconds that goes by an animal is getting abused (“Animal… Statistics”). One statistic states that “71% of pet-owning women entering women’s shelters reported that their batterer had injured, maimed, killed or threatened family pets for revenge or to psychologically control victims; 32% reported their children had hurt or killed animals” (“Animal… Violence”). Animal cruelty comes in several forms, some of which people do not know. There is animal experimenting, animal abuse, and mistreatment of animals. and through revealing the results from research, one discovers the horrific effects of animal abuse.
You wake up in the hospital, look around, and find a doctor hovering nearby declaring that you have just suffered through a heart attack; affirming that if not for your dog, you would have died. You remember back to earlier that day: sitting on the couch, feeling a little off, hearing your dog barking, sensing him nudging you, going to the phone to call the ambulance, and having your dog by your side until you were safe inside the aluminum walls of the emergency vehicle. Although it sounds abnormal that a dog would be the one to save someone’s life, situations similar to the one above are not uncommon. Dogs and other household pets have been shown to be able to detect medical emergencies, including heart attacks and seizures, in their owners.
There are many of types of counseling in the world that are used often and then there are few that are used not so often, just because it is called therapy does not mean that the person is just in a room laying on a couch and talking to someone who keeps asking the same question “and how does that make you feel.” like we see on the television, There are therapies other than just in a room talking to someone; There are some in which people can do exercise, children can play games, they could even do group activities, just because someone is in counseling does not mean that they are confined to four walls and a note pad. The forms of therapy which will be focused on are Art and Music therapy, starting with art.
The abuse that animals endure at human hands is heartbreaking, sickening, and infuriating. Animals are just as delicate as humans, so why not abuse us too? Animal lives should be just important as ours. No animals should be killed or abused for testing, entertaining, clothing, or hoarding. Every year, millions of animals are being killed and torture for testing.
It is more of a wishful idea. I wish play therapy courses were offered more. I understand that our class size might be small. However, I learned a lot from this course. I think a play therapy course should be mandatory for students on the school counselor track. Currently, I am interning at a school. While I am at my internship site, I attend monthly peer group meetings. During one of these meetings, a counselor gave a presentation on play therapy. This presentation as given because many of the counselor’s requested an understanding of play therapy skills they can use in the school system. The presenter discussed the different types of play therapy activities other counselors can use at their school. Many school counselors at this meeting were commenting on how they would like to use play therapy at their school. However, they did not have the knowledge to do so. Therefore, I think as play therapy is becoming more popular in the school system, I think a play therapy course should be mandated for students in the school counselor
"Life is life 's greatest gift. Guard the life of another creature as you would your own because it is your own. On life 's scale of values, the smallest is no less precious to the creature who owns it than the largest" (Animal Welfare Quotes, 1). This quote is attributed to Lloyd Biggle Jr. Animal cruelty can be either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Either way, whether the animal is a domesticated pet, a farm animal, or wildlife, the victim can suffer terribly. Like humans, animals need to be cared for, fed, be sheltered in order to live without fear or discomfort. However, not all animals are treated the way they should be, and some suffer pain, abandonment or mistreatment. Extended periods of abuse can lead to seriously compromised health or even death. Stressed adults take out their anger on their pet which leads to health issues in the animal. Domesticated pets can sense how their owner feels and can make the person feel
We all are busy people who are out of the house most of the day. We need a companion to help us ease the stress from daily life. For example, if you are purr-catinating on essays or preparing for speeches late at night, you at least have a companion by your side. A great companion is the cat, you get to pet a fluffy thing and get free scratches. Why cats? Well, cats are purr-ty interesting creatures. According to Discovery News, in 1960s, the CIA tried to turn a cat into a spy, but un-fur-tunately, they failed when the cat was ran over by a cab. Another interesting fact according to Buzzfeed is female cats are typically right-pawed while male cats are typically left-pawed. There is also a cat island named Tashirojima that are terrorized by stray cats in Japan. The main problem is there are too many cats in the shelters that need a home, according to ASPCA, approximately 3.4 million cats enter the shelters every year. Well the solution to this is you can adopt a cat. There are a few things you need to do before adopting a cat.

Therapy benefits people’s lives tremendously by many different ways. I believe that everyone should do therapy because it offers a chance to move forward in one’s life through the relief of stress and overcoming of pain, which can be done through all of the following types: color therapy, pet therapy, and family therapy.
Therapy is supposed to help you improve yourself and body, not change it completely. People today don’t understand that musical therapy isn’t a miracle worker, but can improve many things. Music therapy is not snake oil, and it is not a promise cure, instead offers a way through many challenges (Scutti). Many people
