This paper demonstrates the value of utilizing personality assessment tools to recognize my strengths and weaknesses within my behavior. I pride myself on my values and often find myself pushing them onto others. I am a highly motivated individual that takes my work seriously, enjoys advancing in my career and I do what needs to be done to get the job done. My decision-making is often dependent upon the facts and how the outcome will affect others. I need all the details before I make a decision and lack innovation. My extroversion allows me to feel at ease when communicating with others, but I often am to probing in my approach and can seem aggressive in conversation. My leadership style varies depending on the situation. I often know what I have realized that to be an effective contributor to an organization, there are a numerous breadth of qualities to be desired. In obtaining the results from the personality tests, I have a better perception of my strengths and weaknesses within my personality. This will allow me to have a new perspective on how and why I behave in particular situations. Therefore, I know what my weaknesses are and work to be stronger in those particular areas. In particular, what have you learned about yourself from this personality test that will help you be a better employee, co-worker, and/or manager? Provide specific examples. Avoidance of conflict has always been a part of my life. I don’t identify with conflict being a means to an end. I strive for harmony in all areas of my life and am overly sensitive to what I identify as negativity. This perspective has resulted in me going to extremes to please another or being exceedingly sensitive to what is meant to be constructive criticism. For example, when I get questioned on my approach on a particular situation, I get instantly defensive because of my heightened sensitivity to keeping everything in accord. I now realize that it is not always black and white when it comes to conflict; there is a grey area. Sometimes there needs to be differences to come to a mutual
First, by reading over my results it was very helpful to understand why I like putting others before myself, defending those who need it, and always serving others because I am the defender and that’s what 13% of the people around the world do. It is also helpful to understand why I am shyer and introverted because I put others before myself and I serve them. I also felt that by knowing what I am stronger at or weaker of so I know how to approach any situation in the future. The one thing that I found to be least helpful is that even though I know my negative traits, it will be very hard to break those habits because those qualities define who I am. Some of my most accurate responses were supportive, reliable, being a great family man and husband, caring, imaginative and observant, loyal, enthusiastic, hardworking and an admirable employee. Altogether, there was nothing that does not define who I am. These results for me were actually highly
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I would advise everybody to do the same,
When taking the two different personality tests, I received the same result for both. I am considered to have an ISFJ (Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging) personality type. These personality tests I believe help believe get more in depth with the type of person they are but also help them to see there are other people in the world that are like them. A few known people that are similar to my personality type are mother Teresa, and Barbra Bush. Along with learning about others like me, I was able to realize more into my strengths and weaknesses.
I found this assessment extremely useful since it helped me see my weaknesses and strengths clearer. Knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are helps me know what sort of emotions or habits I need to be careful of and what qualities I can improve and/or
The purpose of the test was to help me understand and determine who I really am and what kind of person I am.
It is well known that there are many personality tests that attempt to divide individuals in certain categories, or personality types, and who are also believed to include many qualities that help shape leadership. Even though, most of these personality tests do not fully accomplish or are successful at accurately stating an individuals personality type, due to the complexity of human nature, there has to be an understanding of the importance of personality in leadership. The understanding of personality depends only on the individual’s introspection, his or her approach...

This paper is a summary of the data entered in an online questionnaire on 16Personnalities website. This website captures the personality traits of me and how I would lead and manage other people. The 16Personalities test indicated that I have an extraverted sensing feeling judging (ESFJs) personality with unpopular individual traits, role and strategy. The data collected by this test is used to assess my strengths and weakness, romantic relationship and my career path. The 16Personalities test goal is to help my career and unlock my career potential through theoretical models and studies. Loyalty is one of the best ways to respond to conflict. Some other ways to respond to conflict are positive thinking, family, strength, bravery, and friendship. I think loyalty is the best way to respond to conflict because you have to stay loyal not only to yourself but to the people around you, just like Anne Frank stayed loyal to herself and her family when they went into hiding. Another way is to have a loyal friendship just like Shmuel and Bruno from The Boy in the Striped Pajamas or just like the people from Dear Miss. Breed stayed loyal to their positive and negative writing.
Managing conflict is a difficult task that we all face, but becoming aware of your own characteristic style could help determine why conflicts result exactly the way they do. It helps determine what is a healthy outcome. Each circumstance is different.
How do people respond to conflict? Everyone has had to respond to conflict at least once in there life, if so how did it all begin? “ Life seemed an endless, carefree journey. So not even the scariest fairy tails could have prepared me for the monsters I would confront just a few years later, the narrow escapes I would experience , or the hero disguised as a monster himself, who would save my life.” , this quote was by Leon Leyson a young boy who had endured a very hard time that had grown up at a young age unexpectedly.
It is remarkable that by answering a few basic questions, a person can learn key characteristics of his or her personality. After taking the personality test, I learned my general personality type is “The Consul” (ESFJ-A). Individual traits of my personality type are more extroverted than introverted, more observant than intuitive, more feeling than thinking, more judging than prospecting, and more assertive than turbulent. My role is Sentinel and my strategy is People Mastery (“Consul Personality,” 2017). The results of the personality test offered insight into my overall personality type and its social and workplace implications.
After the self-assessment, now I feel confident about my qualities and how I need to deal with people with different personality having very differently thinking and how we can come to a common solution of any problem.
In terms of my personality result, INFJ, I agree with many of the traits that are unique to this personality type. Comments such as being an introverted extrovert made me realize how dead on my Myers-Briggs personality result was. I have always been an introvert my entire life and have cared for the feelings of others. Seeing how certain traits seemed to shine through in my Myers-Briggs personality description added a great deal of credibility to the test. I have always been called a perfectionist and overachiever, but never knew how those traits correlated to me being exhausted in certain situations. My personality result was able to show how my drive to improve was also a reason why I am constantly frustrated in times of difficulty. My personality result will be a major tool in achieving success in
In application, I needed to understand my personal behaviors, tendencies, and those of others in my organization so I can better interact and serve others (Fischer, 2006, p. 1). For instance, although I let things brew to gather facts before applying a logical decision, some people use a quicker decision process (Nutt, 1986, p. 358). Additionally, I am optimistic and a realist concerning workplace diversity as I view it as practical and useful to understand and collaborate with others (Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4). While others may not share my same beliefs, I acknowledge that an organization consists of unique people who bring their own values, personal beliefs, lifestyle preferences, and behaviors into the workplace (Fischer, 2006, p. 3; Pearson Education, 2016, I.B.4; Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 23). Knowing that people have different personality traits, one key takeaway for me is an emphasis on understanding and using the information discovered from my personality test so that I can have a greater impact on subordinates, peers, and the organization I lead (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p.
