What went well with your group interactions while planning to present the activity? a. We work well with each other. We talked and kept communication within the google doc. When we didn’t agree with an idea, we would talk about it and see how we could make it into something that we all agreed. 4. What did not go so well with your group interactions while planning ? a. The only thing was that one of group members missed class, therefore, she was behind on what we were doing. Even though we communicated within the google doc, there was still confusion on what we were doing. I would say that next time we all meet up after class and discuss things through. 5. Describe your group interactions during implementation. a. We had different ideas for the team building activity. We discussed our ideas with each other and see if they worked out or not. We came up with the line game, we agreed it was a great idea for our classmates to know each other and see that even though we're all different, we have something in common. We came up with different question to ask our classmates. 6. Looking back at your experience, what would you do differently in a future group
We all have had individual ideas that we used to support each one of us. We proceeded with the project with an open mind and made every effort to go according to what was discussed before embarking on the task. It could be said that the reason we were successful was that we followed all the sequences as discussed, especially the last one. It was apparent that we were all committed to the success of the team, we were able to motivate each other by engaging all the team members to aim to achieve at the highest level. We all followed open communication to follow the processes in
The biggest problem within our group is the language barrier. Half of our group has English as their native language, and the other half does not, and the language barrier has made it more difficult to work together on all of our assignments. We decided the day we
...e made, we will democratically decide on which direction we should go. Though there were no overt rules being set, we implicitly agreed on taking a democratic approach on decision-making, as we trusted each other that we all desire to achieve the same goal, and all of us have a high level of dedication. Because of this tacit agreement, none of us are afraid of giving suggestions and feedbacks. I think majoring in social work really helped us a lot in understanding where each other are coming from. Though we have very different personality traits, our values and beliefs are very similar, and all of us have the basic understanding of how to work in a team.
My group was composed with Cynthia Perez, Luisa Diaz, Karrah Lyday, and I. At first, we could not come up an idea that would benefit the university community until someone in the group mention the parking lot situation every student and faculty member faces in the morning. We did not have a plan at first, but our goal was to finish the question from the worksheet in which Cynthia took over by writing down all the answers. In my opinion, I feel that I did contribute within the group because I helped to answer several questions from the worksheet. Whereas, Cynthia was writing down the answers, as well as, helping the group come up with other ideas. While we were discussing the question in the group, Karrah’s main focus was to finish the tickets and flyers and she did contribute with several ideas for the group as well. Also, Luisa was part of the group in which she helped out the first day because on the second day she was not in class to finish the questions from the worksheet.
Payton and I worked well together while coming up with our leading exercise. Both of us came up with various exercises that could have been conducted in class and had no problem agreeing on one. Then, we discussed what our objectives for our exercise should be, coming up with similar intentions. The group process was smooth and easily conducted between Payton and me with few, if any, complications. While regulating the exercise to the class no complications occurred. Both Payton and I practiced and came up with various roles that we would play out during the implementation. For example, I would be responsible for leading the discussion at the end of our exercise, while Payton would explain the rules and objectives of the exercise. I believe
- As the collaborator I am able to contribute several aspects to the group environment. I am able to bring the group together for ultimate goal or task that we are trying to accomplish. While focus being the overall contribution, making sure that we all remain on task, as well as equally contributing to reaching our goal. Respect
The group couldn't seem to find time for us to meet and plan our presentation, the first and only time all group members were present to work on the presentation was on the morning of the presentation. We worked on it and at the time I believed we had agreed on our final product, I personally felt all the slides needed at this point was editing and final touches to make it visually appealing for the audience. I went online to the google presentation we were using as a group to prepare our presentation and was surprised to see a different layout, additional slides, and contents which were different from what we as a group had worked on and approved as the final work we were going to present. I confronted the group members as to the changes on the slides and we had a conflict of what our
At the start of this, it was hard to narrow it down to interviewing one person. I had forgotten that I was allowed to give them a survey as well. I decided to interview the person I knew was farthest along in the Major. Her name is Maria (I changed her name due to confidentiality reasons).
Thanh completed her task and submitted them on a timely manner. She proactively contributed ideas for the project. Out of all the group members, I would say that Thanh performance was the strongest. I liked working with Thanh because she was focused on turning in a good quality paper. I would write her a letter of recommendation for employment due to the fact that she is highly focused and is a hard worker. However, I am not sure if I would like to work with her again. At times, she came off as too
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
The Importance of Teamwork In this assignment I am going to look at teamwork and important it is, also linking it in with how vital teamwork is in the modern Public Services. To do this I will be looking into the main theorists and their guidelines for a team to work well and to be efficient. Teamwork is a group/ team of people working towards a common goal or target. Bill Gates describes teamwork as ‘A group with a common goal’.
Teamwork is one of the important component that is required in any types of business organization . Team is defines as “a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to the common purpose, performance goal, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable”(katzenbach and Smith 1993) . Teamwork offer numbers of advantages like in teamwork work are completed earlier because large task are divided into smaller projects and then it find out an individual who is best for doing the jobs. Tasks that are smaller in size also need less time and brainpower then the work is less sporting to the people who are working. Teamwork also helps in combing the unique skills of people and makes them work efficiently. In a teamwork strength of different people are combined for the benefit of entire team and to produce better product and teamwork also help in building the unity among the group member .In a teamwork relationship play an important role because it helps people to communicate properly with one another whereas friendship helps in creating a job satisfaction. Support system is also important because if support system will be stronger than people will be comfortably depend on each other. These are the advantage of the teamwork but in teamwork there are also disadvantage like in teamwork there is an uneven participation of the members because they depend on other for doing the majority of work this can lead to hatred in the workplace. In a teamwork everyone is not team player, as they cannot perform well while team is working because they want to do their own so they might face problems to get fitted in a certain work culture, which will result in displeasure. In teamwork there is less creativity among th...
In the business competition I paired off with Tony, Elizabeth, Tyree, and Cole. We were five complete strangers and we were expected to create a winning business. Working together with other people for an assignment can be a challenging task in some cases but luckily, I worked well with my group members. The decisions we made were anonymous although we paced ourselves individually when it came to completing our separate parts of the essay. As a group I believe that we connected well on an interpersonal level as all four of us were able to make alterations to any problem together . Furthermore, we did not give each other a chance to get angry at one another as we knew that this would only cause conflict that would disrupt our flow as a group. There was an equal divide in the amount of work that we all did; our contributions were fair and no one was lacking behind. In addition, my group members were great at keeping each other informed if one of us were not able to attend a group meeting; emails were sent out informing us what we missed and ideas that were formulated. Everyone in my group worked according to deadlines and in synchronization with each other; we did not have to nag anyone to complete work or wait on a member to complete their task.
Teamwork is defined as, “the process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal.” (Business Dictionary, n.d.) Ultimately, it provides us with a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of unity amongst each other. It allows us to create healthy relationships, and bond further with our peers, and generally, it’s a necessity for our lives. Teamwork aids us with developing imperative life lessons and skills. It also helps us gain a new perspective, and discover our strengths and weaknesses. Personally, I believe that I work well in a team, and I possess the skills of a good leader. Regardless, some individuals
