My group was composed with Cynthia Perez, Luisa Diaz, Karrah Lyday, and I. At first, we could not come up an idea that would benefit the university community until someone in the group mention the parking lot situation every student and faculty member faces in the morning. We did not have a plan at first, but our goal was to finish the question from the worksheet in which Cynthia took over by writing down all the answers. In my opinion, I feel that I did contribute within the group because I helped to answer several questions from the worksheet. Whereas, Cynthia was writing down the answers, as well as, helping the group come up with other ideas. While we were discussing the question in the group, Karrah’s main focus was to finish the tickets and flyers and she did contribute with several ideas for the group as well. Also, Luisa was part of the group in which she helped out the first day because on the second day she was not in class to finish the questions from the worksheet. …show more content…
Therefore, Cynthia told us what question each of us had to present the next day in class. I believe that my teammates and I did a great job presenting the information to the rest of the classmates about our issue with parking space in AU. If I had to grade my teammates out of ten points I would give Cynthia a 9 because she was the leader of the group and she was always making sure we all were on task in order to finish the worksheet. Then, I would give Karrah an 8 because she worked on the tickets and flyers. Next, I would give myself a 7 because I was sill participating with group, but I did not pay a big role compare to Cynthia and Karrah. The rubric for the assignment has four key items that I am using to judge student performance, which were based on their roles. One, the role of the researcher. Did they keep the group on task, help the group understand the document, did they give background knowledge of said document, etc. Two, the role of the summarizer. The process was good even if I found some difficulty in assessing a pseudo code that wasn’t too clear, I hesitated in the beginning on how to assess the assignment and what grade to give to it, but the solution given by the instructor helped me a lot in resolving this issue. The peer assessment process provided me, as always, a good opportunity to discover different views and new ways to resolve a problem or to answer a question or an assignment.

I was curious about how is work going to be divided. Since the project requires everyone’s participation, the group work was divided fairly and equally among us. Also, I was excited to have a real working experience with my classmates. In fact, this project gave me an insight of how much we get along together regardless of our differences. During the project, pride was the dominant feeling. That is mainly because the outcomes of this project will most likely benefit the students, teachers, and faculty of The Wilson Elementary School.
First, the key to a fair and successful group work is communication. Although Natalie only contribute to the bare minimum in the group project such as participating minimally in discussion, writing, and planning, Greg and his group members failed to provide any thorough confrontation and communication, the result became damaging to the team work for the project. For Greg and his team members, their flaw was acknowledging to confront Natalie with her poor performance. Secondly, since there was no clear information provided about why Natalie performed poorly in the project, we can only assume that she did “the best she could”. However, confrontation could apply to the other side as well, Natalie could have confronted her group members about her
I also took on the responsibility to aid other groups. For instance, I had to revise the whole proposal as I noticed a number of glaring grammatical errors, and I had to fill out a section in the proposal for the marketing group as they had forgot to do it. However, I could’ve improved in many aspects to make this project much better: I could learn to delegate. In future projects that require teamwork like this one, I will consistently delegate to get everyone to participate equally. I always tried my best to be a contribution to the group, not a bother. I gave my best effort in everything that I did, and I hope that everyone could see that I put my all into my work.
Task/Activity: Since it was “Career Day” during Spirit Week, it should be noted that students were rather “hyped up” and class was rather leisurely in anticipation of the upcoming schoolwide events taking place both that day and later in the week. As a result, both classes worked on their “Summative Assessment” packets handed out the day before. Students worked independently to read each passage and answer its corresponding multiple choice and/or open-ended questions. After students completed the packet, they then worked on an independent writing assignment on MyAccess covering the topic of their future career, considering the fact that it was “Career Day.”

In order to evaluate my role within the group, it is important to identify what makes a group. A group must firstly consist of more than three members, “Two members have personal relationships; with three or more there is a change in quality” of the personal relationship. (Bion 1961, p26) The group must have a common purpose or a goal in order to succeed. Having now completed my group work task, I can look back and reflect upon the process that my group went through to get to the presentation end point.
My co-operative behavior and the agreeable behavior I exhibited contributed to the harmony and the success of the group. The co-operation that was exhibited was relative to prompt arrival to meetings, meeting group deadlines, and thorough participation in the discussions and the forums of the group. While I was indeed co-operative for most of the group sessions, I was not afraid to speak my mind. My strongest writing skills were illustrated with the expression and analysis of the benefits and the drawbacks associated with the group project.

I’m tired, a little stressed and disappointed with some of the group members this week. This has been the most challenging time in group so far. Everything is usually fine, but something is off this week. Although, we have group chats, our group cohesion is off. After, deciding to do the outline one way, we ended up doing it another way. That was cool until individuals brought the confusion. One person thought this way, the other thought that way. It was a mess. Our group dynamics were all over the place. The impact this had on me was very negative. With your help Mrs. Evans, we eventually decided to keep the outline simple. The other group members picked their duties, while mine were assigned to me. It did not bother me that I was assigned duties. Actually, my absence from the meeting helped to decide what I was to do. When it comes to the norming and forming of this group, I find myself at a loss for words. The norming process is off. There is less cohesion than usual; we have not been as effect this week. Also, relationships do not seem to be strengthening. This makes me angry because it affects us all. Unlike the norming stage, the forming stage is pretty solid. All of us are comfortable (in my opinion) giving our opinions, and we understand what is required of us. There is no need to form rules they are already in place. In my opinion, some of the members did not follow the rules. I for one broke a rule.
Working together with other people for an assignment can be a challenging task in some cases but luckily, I worked well with my group members. The decisions we made were anonymous although we paced ourselves individually when it came to completing our separate parts of the essay. As a group I believe that we connected well on an interpersonal level as all four of us were able to make alterations to any problem together . Furthermore, we did not give each other a chance to get angry at one another as we knew that this would only cause conflict that would disrupt our flow as a group. There was an equal divide in the amount of work that we all did; our contributions were fair and no one was lacking behind. In addition, my group members were great at keeping each other informed if one of us were not able to attend a group meeting; emails were sent out informing us what we missed and ideas that were formulated. Everyone in my group worked according to deadlines and in synchronization with each other; we did not have to nag anyone to complete work or wait on a member to complete their task.
