I believe that teachers should be a model to their students, encourage them, and teach them through experience. We all have someone we look to as our role model; teachers happen to be a model for many of their students. It is important for a teacher to show their students between right and wrong and good and bad. One way a teacher can be a role model is by being a good person. We all have …show more content…
He did not want to students to have to go through what he went through, so he shared some knowledge with them. Knowledge is about passing what the teacher knows, to the students. By doing this, teachers can prevent the students from making mistakes that they made. We, as teachers, have to share our knowledge with the students. By sharing useful knowledge, this can help them in the future. Jessie Stuart also had very good character, which is something that teachers can look to for an example. Stuart respected himself, he students, others and the place where he taught. When he made a mess, he cleaned it up. He did not blame it on someone else. Stuart also did not show favoritism in or outside the classroom. This is important in teachers. A teacher should not be a role model for a certain student just because that student is the favorite student, but all students should be able to look up to their teacher when needed. A teacher should be willing to help every student equally. Another way that Stuart was a model to his students, was by showing enthusiasm in his teaching. Stuart always seemed involved and excited about teaching his students and sharing his
The Role of the Teacher states that the teacher has a significant influence on society. Irving Layton discusses the topic of how education in schools, colleges, and universities are not achieving what they were intended to create. Schools were supposed to give students the tools to self-improve and the develop a mind to do so. Layton goes on to explain that the criticism has fallen on the teachers but it is usually the school board who is at fault. As children, we look to our parents to teach us skills that we need in everyday life, whether it be social skills or how to. Yet for a variety of reasons, some children do not have this personal role model for them to follow and learn from. For these children, their teachers may be the first adult to give them any sort of attention or care. As a result, a teacher can play a huge impact in a young child’s life. The Allentown School District’s high schools are both considered Title I schools, meaning that over 40% of the school’s students come from families that are legally considered low-income (www2.ed.gov). In the ASD, this number is nearly doubled at 88.7% (www.allentownsd.org). Most likely, these students come from homes in which the adults they live with are working most of the day and
"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students." This powerful; quote by Solomon Ortiz aims its intention to show how vital the correlation of teachers and students are. Teachers and students mutually benefit from one other to prosper. I could relate to the quote and meaning behind it. During my tenure at Derby High School, I had one teacher in particular that served as a positioning lasting impact during my course at high school and for the rest of my life. That teacher and I shared experiences in the classroom, football field, and in life in general. These experiences with each other have dealt with successes, failures, and lessons that I will preserve with me for the rest of my life. His name is Mr. David Cherveralla,
In a society where kids must go to school up to the collegiate level, teaching is an impactful career choice. Teachers help contour the minds of future leaders of the world. Furthermore, teachers play a crucial role in guiding students to the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed in life, and teachers lead students to make informed decisions on any topic the meet in the future. As a teacher, a person must relinquish their knowledge onto students. Finally, they must prepare their students for all the obstacles they will face later in life.
As a student, I am expected to be on time, be attentive in class, study for tests, complete homework assignments, earn acceptable grades, and respect staff members. Being an A/B student, I struggle in every one of these areas every day. As one would predict, role conflict is common as a student. Trying to manage a full schedule of classes as a senior can sometimes feel like I am constantly juggling priorities. While I try never to completely neglect one of these responsibilities, I do not value each of them equally. The expectation I struggle with most is being attentive in class.
The most significant most meaningful memory of an experience related to discovering that I was a male and therefore treated differently from the other sex was not only one memory but a series of memories from being separated from the opposite sex at school , going to boys sections at shops ,having a role model that I learned a lot from and lastly from society.
There is no more critical role in our current society than that of a teacher’s. Teachers help shape the minds of the future. Tomorrow's engineers, scientists, politicians, and educators are all greatly influenced by today's instructors. Without teachers society would not be anywhere near where it is now, and only a select few would have access to learning. Sadly however important teachers are in human civilization, they are still drastically understated, unrecognized and under paid.
When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. Preparing children and teens for higher education. Also playing a huge part in shaping children’s lives, enlightening them, and educating them about society and the world around them; the types of things that a parent doesn’t have time for, or just lacks the knowledge of. I think teachers are what help make this world go round.

Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
These can make or break a child. This is the start for children to prepare for school and their life ahead of them. Many solutions and preventions can always be implemented. Essentially, a teacher is vital to many future implications that can help parents and other co-workers that are around children or have some. Teachers can do this because they have the proper education and a big heart.
I believe teaching is one of the hardest yet rewarding professions in the world. Teaching has the power to shape lives and produces success in every area of a student’s life. I believe teachers motivate, encourage, and inspire individuals to be productive citizens in society.
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
Good teachers set high expectations and motivate the students to meet those expectations. As students strive for excellence, teachers assist students in meeting their highest potential through daily lessons. Teachers also serve as role models. Teachers make a contribution to society by preparing students for their real world endeavors. They teach students through example to be kind, respectful, humble, patient and determined.”
A good teacher is one that motivates the students to always keep trying and do their best. However, an ethical and virtuous teacher is one who changes a student’s life forever and shapes their character into becoming a successful and respectful human being. Teachers have an important part in our lives and they impact us every day. Not only do they teach us something new each passing day, they also give us lessons that we will use in every decision we make in our lives. Luckily, I was able to have a teacher who pushed me beyond all my limits and always believed in me. That marvelous teacher was my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Alvarado.
One good quality a teacher should have is, respect for the students. Each person’s ideas and opinions should be valued and not judged. They should be able to express themselves without feeling insecure. Another good quality is, having high expectations for your students. Each student should be encouraged to do their best and achieve goals that they may have never met before. Another good quality is, I believe a teacher should have is good communication skills. They should keep not only the students informed on what is going on in the class, they should definitely keep the parents informed as well. Teachers need to know how to communicate with all their students because some are at different levels than others.
