My Inspiration, My Role Model, My Teacher A good teacher is one that motivates the students to always keep trying and do their best. However, an ethical and virtuous teacher is one who changes a student’s life forever and shapes their character into becoming a successful and respectful human being. Teachers have an important part in our lives and they impact us every day. Not only do they teach us something new each passing day, they also give us lessons that we will use in every decision we make in our lives. Luckily, I was able to have a teacher who pushed me beyond all my limits and always believed in me. That marvelous teacher was my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Alvarado. Mrs. Alvarado was not only my teacher, but she was also my role model and my inspiration. She pushed me when I believed that I could not achieve success or meet my goals. I never had confidence in myself and I would always give up easily when a task was too difficult. However, Mrs. Alvarado never gave up on me and continued to motivate me even through my tantrums. My low confidence came from me not being able to be at the same level as the other students. In fact, I had trouble with reading and writing because of the …show more content…
In fact, I cannot think of a day she was not smiling. I can describe her as a happy, passionate person who loved her job and everything she did. Her personality really shined through when she would greet us in the morning and especially throughout the whole day. I feel like Mrs. Alvarado truly impacted my life as a student and as an individual. She is the very reason why I want to be a teacher. In fact, I want to incorporate the same qualities into my work and inspire my students just as she did for me. Overall, I want to be that teacher who impacts her students and shapes them into becoming responsible and respectful individuals. I want to be that teacher that my students will remember
My mind has been opened to different ideas in the school, such as, where I would prefer to teach, or different discipline and learning ideas for students. I am very thankful for the opportunity I had to observe Mrs. Lee and spend time at Oak Park Elementary. This observation has made me see that my main goal to be a teacher is to educate children and to love of them. As I looked at the different faces of some of the students and the way Mrs. Lee interacted with compassion and care towards them was something that I want to strive for when I become a teacher. I do still plan to be a teacher if the Lord continues to lead me in that path. If I did not become a teacher, I would still want to somehow be involved with the school system or with helping children through life
Heroes can be thought of as many different things, from super heroes and celebrities, to firefighters and even mothers. All of these figures have at least one thing in common. They all have the power to contribute, inspire, and truly be a hero of someone’s story. Heroic people have been around since the beginning of history. While a hero is someone who is determined, courageous, and genuine, they use those skills and characteristics to inspire the people around them to make good choices to better themselves and their world around them
Mrs. Plot, one of the hardest English teachers in Murray County High School, was my teacher that year. She was a very determined and driven teacher that did not tolerate her students to fail her class, even if they were lazy. I had heard horror stories from her former students, but she was nothing like they said she was. She was the only teacher that I have connected with all throughout school. I looked forward to her class every morning because she always made learning fun. Mrs. Plot gave out good advice about English, but she also gave me personal advice and was more of a friend to me. She always knew what to say to me when I had problems. She motivated me to do better with my writing; we went to a journalism class together every week that year. Mrs. Plot deepened my love for reading and writing. Without her, I would not be the kind of student I am today. On every assignment in her class, I got the most feedback and it helped me out a lot. It took me a long time to become a decent writer, but with her help she sped up the process. I put all of my effort in every single paper I have written, especially for her
Your nationality plays a huge part in who you are in the society. Your culture, background, and identity are all influenced by your nationality. Now, how would you feel if someone or a certain group wants you to start forgetting about your origin and wants you to begin learning another lifestyle that doesn’t match yours? Maybe if you are adult enough, you can prevent it from happening by rejecting that person’s idea. But if you are young, you could be merged easily with the kind of lifestyle that the person or group wants you to be like. That’s because young children are innocent, and they are still figuring out their identity. Naturally, when you put young children or teenagers with certain kinds of people, they will gradually start picking up habits of the people they are surrounded with. Jim Thorpe was one of those young – adults who were put in the Carlisle Indian School. In this school/ camp, the whites turn Native American children’s lifestyle into theirs.
She was the most caring and dedicated teacher I ever had and she respected every student as an individual. On the other hand, she had a very negative influence on my life. She is the person who told me there was no Santa Clause, which ruined Christmas for me for a very long time. Another person who has had a great influence on my life is Mr. Robinson. He was my first band teacher. He is the person who convinced me to join band, which
"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students." This powerful; quote by Solomon Ortiz aims its intention to show how vital the correlation of teachers and students are. Teachers and students mutually benefit from one other to prosper. I could relate to the quote and meaning behind it. During my tenure at Derby High School, I had one teacher in particular that served as a positioning lasting impact during my course at high school and for the rest of my life. That teacher and I shared experiences in the classroom, football field, and in life in general. These experiences with each other have dealt with successes, failures, and lessons that I will preserve with me for the rest of my life. His name is Mr. David Cherveralla,
On her essay "The Narrow Bridge of Art", Virginia Woolf discusses much more than the use of poetic prose in writing; she carefully portrays human beings as the core of the existence of writing. As she says, "Life is always and inevitably much richer than we who try to express it" (23). Writers seek for life as dogs for water; they take men and women of all kind as the one and only fountain of inspiration in which they bathe so as to write another work. Woolf's short story "Kew Gardens" is a vivid example of that kind of inspiration someone with the sense of hearing can find just by taking a walk in the park one afternoon. In the case of "Kew Gardens", a snail assumes the role of the writer who divagates among the strangers' words without loosing trace. Its slow movement is the pleasing, and sometimes tortuous, path towards the pencil and the piece of paper.
She honestly cares about all her students and makes the effort to learn about them as well. She made me actually enjoy going to her class, despite it was on a Thursday night. In addition, I didn’t mind doing all her assignments because
What inspired me to teach was moulded by my own experiences of school life. I was fortunate to have teachers who were driven by helping me to achieve and prepare me for wider society. I thoroughly enjoyed my education and thrived in every opportunity that was presented to me from being a Team Leader for younger students, to completing my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, to being awarded Head Girl. I have gained leadership skills and been a positive role model. This has further enhanced my ambition to pursue my vocation of teaching. My dedication to Sociology has led me to develop an understanding that is complex and curious of the world; this knowledge I feel can be shared with students so that they too can see society from other perspectives. Through work experience and observations, I realise that teaching can be challenging because of its physical and emotional demands. I want to increase my student’s sociological awareness and trigger the same passion I feel from this subject. The aspects I enjoy most within sociology are psychological and criminological theories, and studies whic...
In my life, my favorite teachers were always the ones who taught lessons inside and outside the classroom. They taught us about our past, our language and the world around us for tests and quizzes while also teaching us how to navigate through life with their lessons that weren’t needed for our grades. For me, I wanted to be that kind of person. I knew I wanted to help others when they needed help, and I knew I wanted to do that as a teacher.
When thinking back and remembering all of the teachers that I have had in the past, there is one in particular that comes to mind. Her name was Mrs. Ladd. She taught math at the junior high school. Mrs. Ladd was not the most popular, funniest, hardest, easiest, nicest, nor the meanest teacher. I remember her
First, I realized that, teachers carry a lot of weight on their shoulders and have great responsibilities. They have to balance the curriculum, students, parents, lesson plans, common core, and upper management and still maintain a professional demeanor. Second, educators must follow a strong code of ethics. They must be professional at all times with students and colleagues, keep confidentiality, not have or show any prejudice or bias, maintain safe and positive learning environments, help students with problems, and hand out disciplines accordingly. Lastly, I found that when you’re a teacher, your education never stops. Teachers are always trying to improve their own education and professional growth, both for the benefit of their students and for the benefit of themselves.
My view of Literature is that it is the soul to the imagination. I may be mistaken, but that is the beauty of literary words; there is no truth, no right nor wrong in them, yet they hold just about everything to learn on life. Miss Judy Brown, my form four English teacher, has really inspired me in indispensible ways. She is definitely one in a billion.
A Teacher Holds the Key to Knowledge, Success, and Fun The greatest gift a teacher can give students is a positive learning experience that lasts a lifetime. An outstanding teacher is a good role model, fair, consistent, and open to new ideas. A good teacher can motivate and entertain without students realizing the learning process it taking place. It is a great achievement for a teacher to see the “light bulb” come on over a student’s head when he/she understand a problem or can figure out an equation.
...ove the times when she said that I helped her understand a certain concept. Those moments are what I live for, and they are priceless to me. I hope that I can continue to provide that satisfaction of learning to my future students and experience the pride and joy that the students will feel when the material finally clicks. Becoming a teacher would be a dream come true for me, and I hope that I can have the opportunity to purse this dream during my lifetime. I hope that with hard work this dream can become a reality. In essence, I want to pursue this career more than anything because I really want to inspire and shape the future generation. I know that they have what it takes to make a difference in the world, but they need teachers who can point them in the right direction. Every teacher has that capability, and that is why I want to pursue this amazing profession.
