REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM OBSERVATION Through classroom observation I was exposed to the different methods of teaching a lesson. The methods of teaching depends on how will the teacher execute the lesson well. I learned that modern learners today needs both modern and traditional way of teaching as for them to fully learned the lesson in a meaningful way. This is my first day in Bulihan National High School. The Officer in Charge of Mathematics Department as well as the Head Teacher VI of TLE Department of BNHS Mr. Jaime P. Noceda accommodated us to the school. He also assigned on what year where will be going to teach and I’m assigned to teach Grade 7. On our first day of school, I arrived 5:30 in the morning and because it is the first day …show more content…
I can say that there room is conducive to learning. They were 30 plus students. They were electric fan and window for their ventilation. And I can see that the students were comfortable. My cooperating teacher has a very good classroom management; it was really obvious in her way of speaking. Classroom management is also one thing that I must learn. I should learn to make the learner’s environment clear from anything that can distract them from learning. Classroom management involves the discipline that also plays a vital role in the learning of the students. Discipline is composed of set of rules and regulation that everyone inside a room should follow to achieve the best learning. A well organized classroom is a key to deliver and present the lesson properly and effectively. She started her lesson with her motivational activity and she caught the interest of her students. She is very creative and she use educational technology in teaching. The discussion proper was a good one, the topic was about special product. The students were listening and reciting actively. Good teachers set high expectations and motivate the students to meet those expectations. As students strive for excellence, teachers assist students in meeting their highest potential through daily lessons. Teachers also serve as role models. Teachers make a contribution to society by preparing students for their real world endeavors. They teach students through example to be kind, respectful, humble, patient and determined.” In addition, during my observation even if this was my first day, I observed the different levels of intelligence of the students based on how they answer the question and how they react in the discussion. I also noticed their behavior inside the classroom, students at the back were very noisy, and busy doing unnecessary things. On the next two sections the same activity and same class discussion. While students are doing their activity I am secretly observing their attitudes; the way they speak, the way they move and the way they perform their tasks. I was very careful with my words that time, for me not to commit mistakes and because I want to get the attention of my students I remained serious all throughout the
In conclusion, my first impression was wrong, the classroom was not some kind of battlefield of teacher and student casualties. The students were not a lost cause that I imagine them to be. The students were well mannered and just wanted to be treated with respect. The classroom management was impeccable and astounding. It goes to show that although you may think you know a group of students you can be very mistaken.
Teachers help students meet the purpose of life needs by teaching them the things they need to know to be successful adults. Teachers do not teach just the basic core subjects, but they teach children how to be responsible and respectful. They teach them the things they need to know to be good citizens in society.
The arrangement of the classroom has a significant impact on students’ attitudes toward classroom behavior and learning. Students need the environment that is organized, neat and comfortable in order to learn and behave appropriately.
In the role as an observer, the classroom was well-managed. This is on the basis that there was no need for the use of physical control cues, for example nods and eye contact among others and verbal control cues like orders, commands, scold among others. Also, it was observed that no students wandered about the classroom. Second, the students were actively engaged, which resulted in an optimal learning environment which aided in the management of the classroom. My view is congruent to that of Miller (2015), which stated that, “once students are engaged in the classroom, then management issues will dissipate.” Third, students sharing in the management of the classroom were seen in the role conducted by the class monitors. According to Jones & Jones (2005), “Glasser states that students will function productively only in

I also found my teaching to be a lot better as a result as I engaged much more with the pupils are our pupil-teacher relationship blossomed around this change in assumption

When we are in a class we expect certain level of behaviour in terms to deliver a lesson effectively. There are moments where the students purposefully or not break that level. Some of the reasons for that are: lack of interest, inappropriate challenges or learning disabilities. All of these reasons are closely linked with the level of motivation which is the main leading power of progress.

...e a good self-concept and are self-disciplined they will enjoy class and be motivated to learn. Hopefully student’s individual behavior choices will promote an overall good classroom behavior that will allow students to learn the content, and learn about each other. I want my classroom management style to reflect on students as individuals, accommodating their own needs. Finally, I have chosen a style that will prevent discipline problems through a variety of measures, through this I hope to diminish disruptive problems and spend as much time “engaged” as possible.
When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. Preparing children and teens for higher education. Also playing a huge part in shaping children’s lives, enlightening them, and educating them about society and the world around them; the types of things that a parent doesn’t have time for, or just lacks the knowledge of. I think teachers are what help make this world go round.
Teachers serve as the guiding force in a student’s life. They are responsible for molding a student’s personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
Classroom management has the largest effect on student achievement, so students cannot learn in poorly managed classroom. Additionally, research has pointed out that the quality of teacher-student relationships is the main aspect of classroom management.(…2). Furthermore, when teachers set classroom management plan, the plan will give structure to everything from seating to lessons to grading to the relationship between students. For my observation experience I went to Southern High School in Harwood, MD. Southern High School has a special education department for the students with disabilities. The teacher that I met with for this classroom observation was Ms. West. In the classroom there were at least four assistant teachers that helped Ms. West throughout the school day. The assistant teachers helped Ms. West co- teach the class and were there to help the students if they needed extra help. The school also has a couple of student aides that come in to help the teachers and the students in the classroom. There were at least twelve students in the classroom. The students in the class had many different exceptionalities such as learning disabilities, Down syndrome,
A good teacher is one that motivates the students to always keep trying and do their best. However, an ethical and virtuous teacher is one who changes a student’s life forever and shapes their character into becoming a successful and respectful human being. Teachers have an important part in our lives and they impact us every day. Not only do they teach us something new each passing day, they also give us lessons that we will use in every decision we make in our lives. Luckily, I was able to have a teacher who pushed me beyond all my limits and always believed in me. That marvelous teacher was my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Alvarado.
