One of the most important habits in life is being proactive. For example, you choose if you want to be a proactive person or a reactive person. The book states, “Each day you and I get about 100 chances to choose whether to be proactive or reactive.” Proactiveness is blaming problems on oneself instead of another person. You are responsible for making mature decisions that help rather than hurt personal growth. To be proactive is to take charge of your own life as author Sean Covey states, “ You are in charge of your own life, nothing else is really possible.” It pays to be proactive, but it takes effort and time since it means making things happen for yourself- not waiting.
I use proactiveness in my life is by “ thinking before answering a problem, like math.” Being proactive in your life helps to get through tough times easier since you learn to take ownership of your problems. The habit “begin with an end mind” tells us that “since you’re the driver, decide where to go and draw a map of how to get there.” You have to set a destination; and how you will get there. For example, I want to be a police officer. I set my destination and understand I have to get there. Nothing is impossible, but I may have trouble on the road as Covey said.
I use “Beginning with an end mind” by writing three different plans because If a plan does not work, I have a backup. There will be some challenges, but I take on my challenges because I know that is how life works. My journal entry taught me that “beginning with an end mind” is “having something in your brain that you go for.” Having something in your brain helps you to not give
