3 Strengths
Determination -- I am a determined person. When I want to follow my desire of achieving my goal, I have no hesitation. I see many obstacles along the path, but determination is the key to success. I have seen many of my classmates changed their major from Accounting to other business related field due to the hardships in Accounting classes. I as well gone through the same experiences as others, but I am determined to stay on track of my goal to be a CPA. Through Audit class (Acctg431), we are provided with access through audit materials in Roger CPA Review for free of charge. All requires critical thinking, as well as tremendous efforts. SDSU allows me to improve every skills needed to be success, ranging from being innovative to acquiring analytical skill. For example, Cost Management class allowed me to be innovative. During ERPSim game, it requires every team to innovate unique ideas of what strategy to use, which product mix to sell, and how to diversify ourselves from other group competitors. By benchmarking our team result to competitors, evaluating market demand, and analyzing and interpreting complex quantitative information, it allowed me and my team to succeed in ranking top 3 in the class. Moreover, SDSU gave me opportunities outside the classroom to enhance my analytical skill by participating in PwC case competition, ALFPA case competition, and SAS internal audit committee. Through case competitions and internal audit committee, I and my team are required to assess the impact of the risks and develop a solution to the problems. In fact, my internship at KPMG (Thailand) as a Risk Advisory Intern allowed me explore the real business world problem. I used to believe that I am no better than others. By acknowledging that some people around me had received many opportunity in leadership positions and internships, it makes me feel behind from others. I want to be like them, but I don’t believe that I have that ability. SDSU allowed me to do internship at KPMG (Thailand) effectively. I was convinced that I wouldn’t be able to do the assigned work like other interns. To be Risk Advisory Intern, it requires more than basic accounting knowledge and analytical skill. Despite an underestimation of myself, I was able to apply the materials from Accounting Information Systems (Acctg333) class effectively while assisting my mentor to conduct risk assessment. Although SDSU allows me to prove to myself that I am not inferior to others, but an underestimation of myself is still my weakness. I tend to compare myself to others, but that is the motive for me to strive for better. At SDSU, I and my team are in the process of forming a student organization, ASCEND. I will continue to change my weakness into my strength by proving that I have an ability to contribute to the

These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
Some strengths that stand out the most in my personal life are, how I love to serve and give freely to benefit others, whether it is donating money or paying close attention to events that happen to surprise my friends with little gifts, I enjoy brightening someone's day. I am known as
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. As Roth states in Strengths Finder 2.0, we as a present day world tend to focus on and try to overcome our weaknesses rather that building up our strengths. Using our natural talents can help us do the best we can and help us be a better asset. After taking the strengths assessment, I found that my top five strengths themes ended up being: relator, discipline, competition, responsibility, and significance.
Two strengths of mine throughout the first-quarter were being able to present information in front of a group of people, and coming up with good ideas for my essays. First I believe that one of my strengths are being able to go on the front of many people and fluently have information expressed. Evidence of this is when we did the multiple socratic seminars. I exceeded when doing
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
These strengths have allows for me to flourish in school and the activities I participate in. Along side these strengths are my weaknesses that have allowed me to encounter some learning opportunities. Ive gained knowledge from these weaknesses. Ive learned how to evaluate a situation and gauge how assertive I need to be in order to get a group to accomplish a task. Ive also learned that sometimes I need to put my needs in front of other people 's in some situations, such as deciding where I want to continue my education after high
My top strength is Individualization. To me, this strength means the ability to figure people out and understand the true uniqueness of others. With this strength, I am able to make things run smoothly and, at the same time, able to involve everyone in a group. The next strength I have is strategic, which enables me to find alternative ways to deal with problems. Therefore, I am also able to make things run smoothly and according to plan. In addition to these two strengths, my third strength is competitive which measures how successful I am compared against others. This is great because it helps me to endure and work hard in order to make it to the top. My fourth strength is restorative which is a talent that helps me to deal with any problems that may arise and ensure that things continue going according to plan. This strength means that I can endure and overcome any adversity that comes my way. My last strength is achiever. This is a strength that helps me to work hard and always be productive. Being an achiever maintains my ability to always keep going and to constantly feel the need to be productive.
For personal and professional growth, given my personality traits, I need to embrace my strengths and weaknesses. I must use my strengths to my advantage, to be more effective academically and in the workplace, but I also need to identify and try to overcome my weaknesses, especially professionally.
In-depth knowledge of the organization’s fundamental operations is required for understanding the implications of the key risks a company is exposed to and then assessing the company’s planned responses to risk (Fraser & Simkins, 2010, pg. 64). Training and orientation can aid in furthering the knowledge of administration. Having a vast understanding of the industry and the regulations that govern the industry will aid in managing risk as well, which can be obtained in part through
As I stated earlier, loyalty is one of my top values, and I believe that if I am a loyal leader many people will trust me and develop their leadership attributes. Along with loyalty comes relationships. To me, the two go hand in hand. It is nearly impossible to have a healthy relationship when someone is not being loyal. I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me. I understand that things are not always going to go the way you intend. Having the ability to adjust my thought processes is just one way adaptability will make a difference in my life. I believe that my third strength, WOO, will help me to build relationships and expand my network no matter how old I am. Being able to relate and connect with others is something I strive to do in my daily life. My fourth strength, communication, goes hand in hand with WOO.
After taking this assessment, my strengths were belief, consistency, maximizer, input and connectedness. According to the assessment, belief is a strength because of understanding there is more to life than just material items. I take pride in making sure others around me have what is needed before knowing what they may need from me. A family member or friend needing something is more important than my own needs (Gallop, Inc.,
The area of personal strength first is the ability to take initiative, so this is carried out effectively by scheduling my time and work within the stipulated time frame of submitting a task or assignment. Second is a strong desire and willingness to learn without being motivated and excitement to know that I am working towards something which will make a positive impact in my life. The area of personal weakness in my opinion first is inappropriate peer assessing of a classmate's assignment and commenting on a not very satisfying work in a discussion forum that might cause an offense. Second, falling behind allocated time during the study process as a result of time mismanagement.
Nevertheless, I will overcome these weaknesses by dedicating myself to reach
