Alcohol is known to be a cause of liver complications, and excessive vomiting which can be fatal as a person could suffocate if it occurs in their sleep. Plus, excessive drinking can cause alcoholic hepatitis which can lead to the development of jaundice, which is the yellowing of the skin and eyes. I’m strongly against consuming any alcohol for these reasons. This has allowed me to avoid all of its’ harmful affects to this day.
I believe that the greatest benefit of staying healthy that I have experienced is ultimately being able to see my family every day. I love my family with all my heart and I want to be with them as long as possible. By living a healthy lifestyle, it will extend my life expectancy to a great extent, and hopefully I will be able to spend a good deal of time with my beloved family that has supported me immensely through all the smiles and cries.
On the other hand, I have experienced many difficulties while trying to stay healthy. For instance, it is very easy to get injured while exercising. Around this time last year, I had almost twisted my ankle while I was running around the block. There was also another more recent incident where I was injured by faulty piece of gym equipment. If that wasn’t bad enough, I fell down on the pavement while I was rollerblading. Those events made me realize that if I wanted to exercise, there are many dangers that have to be

Dietitians learn the fundamental principles of food and nutrition and help educate people on a healthy diet and ways to prevent diseases. They plan and supervise the preparation and serving of meals in facilities such as hospitals and restaurants. Dietitians help decrease malnutrition, promote healthy lifestyles, and control diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Their role is quite significant as a patient's diet can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of many medical therapies and procedures. Plus, one could definitely agree with the fact that dietitians are quite successful as they bring in an average annual income of $58,000. Possibly one day I can have a successful career by using the skills I have gained through being healthy to become the flourishing woman that I aspire to
Liver disease resulting from alcohol affects more than two million Americans and is one of the primary causes of illness and death. The liver frees the body of harmful substances, such as alcohol. While the liver breaks down alcohol, it produces toxins that can be even more dangerous than the alcohol consumed (“Beyond Hangovers: Understanding Alcohol's Impact on Your Health” 13). “These by-products damage liver cells, promote inflammation, and weaken the body’s natural defenses. Eventually, these problems can disrupt the body’s metabolism and impair the function of other organs” (“Beyond Hangovers: Understanding Alcohol’s Impact on Your Health” 13).

Have you ever had those moments where you are feeling unmotivated or zero energy to workout? I will be the first to tell you I have had these moments. Being involved in the fitness world, I love every aspect of fitness. For the past 5 years, I was working out 5 days a week and had my ups and downs with results. I am guilty of it, I would pick up a workout magazine and try out this crazy workout and just destroy my body. Sure, I saw some results but I was becoming more and more tired throughout the day. On top of that, I was only getting 5 hours of sleep and not eating appropriately to refuel my body. I know stupid right? I am human and I am not perfect!
I am inspired to explore the field of dietetics which is very broad and dietitians perform a variety of functions in their jobs. As a dietitian, I can work in a wide variety of positions such as a foodservice manager in commercial or institutional, a community nutritionist, such as the WIC and Headstart, a consultant to major food corporations such as Kelloggs and Kraft or go into sales. I am very interested in working in a position where I can help people develop habits to improve their health. I may eventually go on to graduate school to advance my knowledge of dietetics.

Maintaining good health is what keeps the body going. It may seem simple, but having a high level of wellness is much more complex than just eating right and working out. Consistently making benefitual decisions in all aspects of life is necessary for achieving optimal health. Health can be measures by the Illness-Wellness Continuum, a scale that ranges from pre-mature death to high-level wellness. By using the seven dimensions of health, I can safely assume I would fall just under vibrant health. My physical health has always been a significant part of my life. Years of dancing established in me a sense of responsibility for my body and its functions. Yoga, biking on the beach, and taking walks in the woods keeps me operating properly. Besides the occasional ice cream cone, I prefer to fill my diet
The concept of health introduces multiple complexities further deepening the meaning of what it is to be healthy. The definition of health is arbitrary and can differ from individual to individual. Otherwise, my basic perception of health is experienced through the things I learned at school and from the people around me. Growing up, I was taught practices such as coughing into my sleeve and washing my hands to prevent the spread of germs. What I always understood about health is just to simply avoid sickness. However, my perspective gradually changed as I experience events involving my well-being and those around me. I began to realize that health has a plethora of definitions which helped create my own idea of that concept. Health, to me,
Being healthy is something that I put allot of emphasis on sense I was young. Sports and training soon lead to a focus on nutritional and now mental well-being. I understand the effects of stress and negativity and have been making strong efforts to both separate myself from the negative elements. Some life changes and a wonderful life partner have made this goal and lifestyle well worth the time investment.

Well, 1) the word "DIE" is in diet 2) no matter where you look you 're going to find delicious food ads and junk food and 3) you don 't have support.

A healthy lifestyle is usually picked up as we get older. My personal health has been something I constantly think about. Whether it’s myself, my parents, my doctor, or others that bring it up, I’m reminded that I need to eat healthier or exercise more, etc. I know that I need to get better about what I eat and try to work more exercise into my daily routine, I just find it hard to find the motivation to go and actually accomplish what I know that I need to do. Especially in today’s society where we’re surrounded by a lot of non-healthy food, and getting access to healthy food is more expensive than the latter, it’s hard to make the better choice and choose the healthy option. I’m hoping now that I’m in college that I’m able to get better at taking care of myself than I have in the past.
