Wellness relates to a state of being physically & mentally healthy in all aspects of your life. That is just a general statement because it can way more than just that. Such as, taking personal responsibility and cautious steps towards living life. Once you start having complete control of risk factors that can harm you that indicates wellness. There are many ways to describe exactly what wellness is. To be honest, it differs mostly on the belief of the individuals who is explaining it. However, the reason of why wellness is so important is because if we want to function successfully in the world we need to be well. To achieve our goals and aspirations in life all areas of health need to maintained because if even one area starts to become imbalanced, then the others will suffer as well. …show more content…

Now, some people believe there are eight dimensions of wellness, but others believe there are six or seven. However, with my own personal wellness philosophy I only see one main dimension that includes four mini dimensions with a similar topic that relates to the main dimension. The dimensions I choose starting from the base of my pyramid are; Physical Wellness, Social Wellness, Emotional Wellness, and Vital Wellness. First, physical wellness includes parts of life that are important to keep yourself in top condition. Ideal physical well-being is produced through the mixture of valuable physical activity and adhering to a good diet. Essential parts of physical wellness involve building strong muscles and stamina, cardiovascular stamina and flexibility. The physical advantages of looking great and feeling amazing will develop mental advantages such as increased self-efficacy, self-control, motivation, and self-awareness.
