Throughout my entire life, I have always been persistent, kind, and sweet. After all that I have been through, you will be able to see how certain events in my life have affected me, and how I overcame every obstacle that came my way. No matter what I have been through, I have always come out on top of every obstacle. I am an independent, persistent, open-minded, self-motivated, loving, and strong woman. One of my weakness, that affects me, more than anything is my kind heart. Being kind can be a blessing and a curse, depending on the person that you are dealing with are. I try to see the good in everyone, and there are some people in this world, that is not good. Also, there are some people, that try to use my kindness and use it to their own advantage. I know that I need to learn how to deal with people. Everyone does not deserve my kindness, and there are some …show more content…
My work ethic and determination are one of my strengths because I will work extremely hard to get to where I want to be in life. My future is my determination, and I will never give up to reach the goals that I want to reach in life. My determination is a huge strength because it helped me get through a lot of things that I had to face in my life. Without my determination, I would be a weak person, and I would not be the person that I am today. It is important that I make sure that I keep my determination because that is who I am. I know that I can be a lazy person; but, it is my determination that will not allow me to let my opportunity slip through my fingers. For example, I was going to give up in my classes for college because of a traumatic experience that I have been through. But, my determination and my strong will to be successful in the future did not allow me to give up. I push through every obstacle that came my way until I pushed passed all of those negative feelings that I was
After reading Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath, I learned that there are thirty four different themes that one could have as strengths. Each strength has its own positive that allow people to better work with the people who have this style of strengths. Another key topic that I learned is that everyone has their own types of personal strengths. The main principle that was taken away from reading this book was that the old phrase of “You can be anything you want to be” is not a true statement (p. 6). We are all taught this idea at a very young age and it tends to stick with us for the rest of our lives. Forced by the past, most people are required to try to fix their weaknesses, but not improve on our strengths. We cannot truly be anything we want to be because we are not built this way. We are programmed to tend to stick with things that we are good at and when thrown at a task similar to the one we are good at we do not just excel at the other task. By sticking to increasing our strengths that we already have instead of fixing our weaknesses, we will be able to become a better human being because we are better the things in which we are good at.
After completing the Clifton strength finders test, I learned my dominant strengths and it gave me a sense on what areas I am strong in. It allows you to work in the areas that you are good in and not in the ones you might not be as strong in. My top five strengths were learner, connectedness, belief, positivity, and includer. A lot of these I figured I would have because I am an athlete and I love to be positive. That is good because I practice these strengths every day which in turn will make me better at them and will allow me to use them in my career.
My top five strengths are both great and damaging to myself. My talent for achieving and competiveness guarantees that I am never satisfied and constantly needing to rise to the top. While these are great strengths to have, it qualifies that I never able to truly rest or feel the satisfaction of a work well done because I am already moving to the next hurdle. However, these strengths are great for...
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
People could be happier, it changes people, and people could stand up to bullying. Being kind can make people happier. There is scientific research that states that being kind to people can make them be happier and it helps with anxiety and stress. I know for one thing when people are kind to me it makes me feel happy and special.
I truly believe the development of my work ethic is one of the most important things that has ever happened to me. My third strength is would be being part of a team. Sports was also had a big impact of the development of this skill. The majority of the sports I played in my life required me to know how to play on a team. When I started to play Jr. High football it really taught me how to play on a team and also what
An individual who preaches on the idea that one should be kind to others would be hypocrite if he/ she was not kind to his or her own self. It is similar to how one would shoot out a compliment and in the process, thus receiving back a “Thank you” response, but if she was to receive one herself she would feel quite reluctant to take on that flattering remark because she might not feel as though
Is Being Lazy Okay? Often times in life a person encounters a task that he or she just has no interest in preforming. After the person realizes that they do not want to preform that specific task one of two things always happens. Either that person will do the task in spite of the desire not to.
My strong determination and tenacious will power are demonstrated on a daily basis. It is displayed in every aspect of my life. Strong determination is displayed in my school, in just the sole basis of me coming back to school and wanting to do better in my life. It’s also displayed in home life, in ways like creating the best possible environment for me along with my family.
There is a point in everyone’s life when they step back and realize “I can’t do this anymore, it’s ruining my life”. Many of my friends have started smoking cigarettes while drinking at a very young age, and continue to use this drug currently and don’t realize the affect it has on their future. While I have been smart enough to avoid smoking, I haven’t been as wise at making decisions when it comes to drinking. The amount of partying I’ve done in college has taken over my life, and has had a huge impact on my grades. Changing my drinking habits and continuing to avoid cigarettes will enable me to be the best I can be for the rest of my college experience.
Don't do it only for the people you like and respect--that's easy--but also for the ones who drive you crazy and those you don't even know. True kindness lies in the act of giving without the expectation of getting something in
It isn’t always easy to be kind to others, nor is it easy to fake being kind. Some try to be kind by offering or showering one with stuff. People all around do this, they think giving people things equals being kind and fills heart the same way a compliment would. However, it does not work like that. One does not feel the same way after getting an object as they do when they are are told they look gorgeous, or when someone holds the door for them, or even when someone tries to be inclusive. Often when someone gifts something they do so expecting something in return, they did not do it out of kindness of their heart. A kind person is giving from their hearts, whereas those who give gifts thinking that is being kind are doing so to feel
I think that if you show someone who is having a bad day any type of kindness can change their day. Someone who i was kind to was the new kid in school. To begin with kindness to me means being friendly to another person or animal. Kindness means showing affection towards someone else other than yourself.kindness also means being friendly and generous to someone.
Kindness is the key to most everything. Being kind means taking the high road, even when someone has wronged you. It means serving other people, even under inconvenient circumstances. It involves looking for the good in others, and even helping them to see the good in themselves. Kindness is spreading happiness to make other’s day better and by making them smile. Kindness is defending those who are picked on by others, sitting by those who are lonely, and saying hi to someone in the hall. Kindness is being someone who wants to build up those around them.
If one person holds the door open for somebody else, basically, the receiver of the kind act is benefitting by not having to open the door. Although the example sounds very simple, the act is still helping somebody. If people did not hold the door open in the modern day society, the combined amount of times one would have to open the door would be significant. Secondly, showing kindness builds character. If somebody shows kindness, the people around would start to see the type of person the giver is. Good character is very important in life, and it will earn somebody a lot in life. On the third hand, there is always an opportunity to show kindness. Showing kindness every day is a very good habit to develop, and it would start to make somebody a better person. Every act of kindness will benefit others, and kindness is a great way to bring people
