The organisational communication studies the correlation between organisational behaviour and the communication practices there in. It is greatly involved in studying the symbolic use of language, how organisations perceive it and their goals . The discipline of organisational communication focuses on studying the communication processes keeping in mind the organisation context. Organisational communication scholars argue that all communication is part of an integrated whole.
The goal of this research hence is to study parts of the model of organisation communication as described in the figure1. Hence we will study the message and how the receiver interprets different types of messages and also to study the channel

Even though organisation communication literature gives the model but it is mute on what are the various types of messages and channels and its effect on employees. This information we can gather from general communication literature and marketing paradigms. Hence it becomes necessary to look at Organisational Communication from an Internal Marketing perspective.
Hypothesis Formation
Organisational communication’s primary goal is to research and understand the process of communication within organisations and then develop ways to improve the mechanics of the same. To this end various communication researchers have focused themselves on understanding the barriers that are posed in front of effective communication in the organisations. Some of the main barriers that are identified are interpersonal barriers or personal barriers one that come from individual differences and characteristics and the others are systemic barriers or barriers that result as a consequence of organisational structure, systems and

In this chapter, each part of the communication process is described, as outlined by Windahl and Signitzer’s concepts, and analysed in order to explain our findings from the case of the New Times magazine. Individuals communicate various pieces of information to internal and external business stakeholders.The design of an organization should provide for communication in four in distinct directions: downward, upward, horizontal, and diagonal. But we have only discuss about downward communication and upward communication, where downward communication is more prevalent than upward communication in organization. Communication can flow vertically or laterally. The vertical dimension can be further divided into downward and upward direction. Downward communication is more prevalent because in this type of communication, we have to give orders and instructions to our sub-ordinates. So we have to explain each and every step that is going to help in work. But in upward communication they sub-ordinates do not have to give instructions their head.
The assigned chapters for the final week of Communication for Leadership discussed the importance of international communications and effective external relations. Chapter 13 discussed how leaders should communicate with their employees. This chapter also gives insight on how to strengthen internal communication within the workplace.
