My greatest academic wish this quarter is to pass my classes, to do this I will have to work on turning my assignments in on time and attending all of my classes. There are many things I will have to do in order to climb the stairway of success and ascend to new academic heights. My wishes are to pass my classes, turn my assignments in on time and attend all of my classes. The reason why these are my wishes is because, if I were to fail to accomplish these things then they would be the biggest reason for me failing. There are many personal obstacles that I will face on my path to success. Laziness, procrastination, anxiety, perfectionism, video games, time management and not being motivated to work are all things that will become hurdles …show more content…
I will face many more personal struggles and obstacles as I try to accomplish more. The fear of failure that has always permeated my every thought, the idea that I have placed in my mind since young; the futility of life, the fear that no matter what I do it will have no meaning. My fear is a prison that binds me with chains of futility, and the more I struggle the more rigid the chains become. But I believe that if I set a plan to work towards these wishes, and if I succeed in making this plan effective, then it will start a domino effect on my mentality. I will be showing myself that I can vanquish this beast imprisoning me in my own mind, this beast known as anxiety; then I will be able to move confidently towards a future that I wish for. So my plan for the present will be to work on being an excellentist instead of a perfectionist, fixing my poor time management skills, and mending my poor habits. To do this I will try and log how I spend my time and plan accordingly, try different kinds of anxiety and stress relief, such as meditation and exercise, and cut back on the hobbies that I find
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
My journey to higher education spans 24-years and combines two passions, teaching and EMS (emergency medical services). This journey began in 1986 with a suburban kindergarten class of 25 in Memphis, TN. Eleven years later no longer am I teaching school-age children; instead, I am delivering training programs to EMS providers as well as the medical community. Today, I combine both passions to offer students authentic experiences through which to obtain proficient skills in written and oral communications, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, as well as in negotiation and conflict resolution skills as they prepare for rewarding
...ng of family finances. I will work on my marriage and spend quality time with my spouse. I will accept my mistakes and learn from them. I will push myself to start my nonfiction book on Fibromyalgia Best Treatments. I will follow-up with my job prospects. I will spend more time writing and learn how to revise with excellence. My ultimate goal is that I will gain employment in a temperate climate.
I am writing this essay about learning styles. More notably I will write about my personal learning style. Also a quick idea of why I chose to go back to school to seek a degree. There are multiple learning styles out in the world audible, tactile, and visual. Audible learning style focuses on learning by listening and sound patterns. Visual learning focuses on learning by using pictures, drawings, shapes, paintings and sculptures. Tactile or kinesthetic learning style focuses on learning by a more hands on approach using gestures, touching, body movement, positioning and object manipulation. I am a tactile and visual learner and in the next paragraph I will discuss these findings.
I will never give up. I will never allow failure to be an option. I will set goals and I will achieve them. We are obstacles are set in front of us daily. Daily obstacles can range from waking up in the morning when we are overworked to losing a limb or a love done. However, when the outcome is not in my favor I will utilize the situation to find my weaknesses and build a better me for the next battle.
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
Since the summer of my senior year in high school, I was confused about the meaning of learning. What do I want to learn, and what could I do with my bachelor degree? So far, it has been two years. I still could not tell the answer to the first question, but, progressively, I know that I could do nothing with my bachelor degree and even with the higher degrees. On the other hand, the knowledge I learned so far is the thing I could rely. However, in some people’s points of view, this is unpractical. For such a long time, I have found few individuals sharing the similar ideas with me. Once, I saw a celebrity, who graduated from Tsinghua University, having a show online. He said that he was extremely disappointed when a college student, who also studies at Tsinghua University, ask him about whether he should take the examination of the public servant or not. From his point of view, as a part of Tsinghua University, one of the best universities in China, how could such a smart student is satisfied with basic needs, rather than cultivating himself. According to my experience, there are lots of people around me are pursuing material benefits. Self-cultivation, thus, is less important.
I believe that hard work is the real treasure of a person because without hard work we cannot achieve our dreams and goals in life. No one can achieve success without doing hard work. It starts when we stop looking for alternatives or shortcuts towards success. We need to remember that there are no short cuts to success. Hard work, complimented with an intense desire to struggle and to achieve success is the only sure way of reaching success that you have always wanted. Hard work is one of the secret for us to be successful in life. Laziness and sluggishness makes one’s life a curse and only hard work can make your life a blessing. We cannot work hard if we don’t have goals. The meaning of goal according to Wikipedia is a desired result of a
Academic success is becoming increasingly important in today’s society because most occupations now require a degree of some kind before a job applicant will even be considered. For that reason, academic performance has a considerable impact on a student’s life and whether or not he or she is able to accomplish future career goals. There are many factors that can influence academic performance of a college student, including student personality traits and life circumstances. Life circumstances are sometimes out of a student’s control, but if a student was able to recognize a quality of his or her personality that was inhibiting academic performance, then he or she could possibly make an effort to

...tivation, master self-management, adopt lifelong learning, and accept personal responsibility as my own. Keeping these all in my mind to will be guaranteed a bright future. Putting my mind to it will help motivate me on my journey to success. Knowing motivation will help me have the energy to overcome the obstacles of life, being organized and knowing what I have to do to succeed, finding the positive in every situation to gain wisdom for the future, and openly understand that it is only my responsibility to take care of my success and nobody else’s. Doing all four of these strategies through my voyage will give me the assurance that my mind needs to get through it. Being positively sure that I will and can get through this.
I have always wanted to make good grades but I never really set any goals but, then I realized that setting academic goals are way more important than people realize . I then started to set goals like my sophomore year of high school after I did that it really helped me focus on my future and what I wanted for myself. My goals I think pushed me so much more academically they opened my eyes a little bit more. One Goal I set was to graduate High school with a Core 40 diploma, which I did, so that is one goal down and a bunch more to go. My senior year I started applying to college but my main goal was to make into Saint Mary-of-the Woods and when I received my acceptance letter I was ecstatic. So far, I am still trying to figure out my academic goals for college but, I do know for sure that I want to succeed in every single way that I can so I can make a better future for myself. A goal that I made this year is to make the dean’s list every single time, for this I will study so hard for every test, do all of my homework, and ask questions when I have them and maybe even getting a tutor. This challenge will probably be really tough but I believe that I can do it if I put my mind to it, and I tend to be a very determined
During the summer before starting high school, many incoming Freshmen are hit with nerves. They’re nervous about the upperclassmen, how to fit in socially and, most importantly, the level of difficulty of the subjects in high school compared to middle school academics. Well here’s a newsflash – it’s different; it’s harder. In order to succeed academically, you have to study well. In order to study well, you have to build amazing study habits. In order to build amazing study habits, you have to read the rest of this and apply it to your life. Once all of that’s done, you will be a shoo in for top grades with low stress involved and be the “go to" person for classmates when it comes to A+ study tips.
I have my own goals for the future however. I want to become an accomplished zoologist to start. Zoology has always been my passion, and working at any ethical place that can pay me a decent, livable wage is fine. I would prefer to work at either Disney’s Animal Kingdom or with U.S. Fish and Wildlife services. With this job of mine, I hope that I can earn enough money to live comfortably and not have to worry about my money. My parents always had to worry about where their next paycheck was coming, and my father always had to work day and night, nearly sixty hours a week, to just make rent. My other goal in life is to simply leave my worries and anxiety aside, to finally enjoy the life I was given. Every stage of my life was plagued by worry and concern for the future. In middle school, I was worried about getting good grades in high school. In high school, I was worried about getting accepted into UF and obtaining the scholarships necessary to pay for my education. Now, I worry about finding a job after college. I want to be sure that in the future, this cycle of worry ends and is finally put to a rest. Finally, I want to make sure that I never continue to be alone. I want to continue my relationship with my family, girlfriend, and any friendship I make here at school. I have tried being alone in the past, and I soon found out that humans were never meant to be
All these goals are set in a manner that they are achievable. Accomplishment of these goals will be like a dream come true for me. However, the grades I receive in my exams will be a mirror image to my later result coming up the way.
