I have a broad range of accomplishments. Most of my accomplishments have been in several subjects such as mathematics, science, and even tennis. I credit my achievements to my own perseverance and growth, my mother’s support, and my teachers throughout school. My mother on the other hand, I volunteered at her workplace and I assist in managing a small business in operation, maintenance, administrations, and customer services with give me some basic knowledge of how the money work. My enthusiasm and the strongly committed teachers I have encountered in my life have attributed to my success in math and science. Prior to going onto ninth grade, my Math classes dating back from middle school were never mentally straining. Math appealed to me because in eighth grade, my math teacher, Dr. Christopher, would encourage her class by recognizing our achievements with small rewards such as candies and ice cream passes during lunch. Once I started getting better in math I started getting better in other subjects. I think my hard work was shown because when I went to River Bend I was placed in classes with people I considered smart. The classes were a bit challenging but I did well. The second year I was at River Bend I moved up even farther in my academics and then I was the “smart” person. People would come to me if they had questions, and I liked being the one to help them.
I have always enjoyed math tremendously. I can remember riding in a car for long distances as a child and continuously calculating average speeds and percentages of distances covered as we traveled. In college I took upper division math classes such as Real Analysis and Game Theory (and placed near the top of the curve) though they were not required for my major. All this time spent playing with math has left me with a deep understanding of the way numbers work and the many ways in which problems can be solved.

Going through elementary school math was just another subject for me. It was actually simple to me. There were easy problems like two plus two equals four and five times five equals twenty-five. In high school, math turns into algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, and other advance math classes. Algebra II was my toughest subject, and most of the students were failing the class. Despite my conspiracy theory that algebra was created by Satan, I figured out a way to make it simpler. Later on in the semester, I showed my teacher ways to make the class easier and simpler.
Since elementary school, mathematics has always been the easiest subject for me to practice and develop upon. I realize this might sound cliche, however, for me, math class is a comfortable yet competitive environment, focusing on a subject that is wieldy yet requiring effort, in a place where my classmates can all relate yet challenge each other. Creativity, on the other hand, is a shortcoming in the reel of acts in the movie of my life. Consequently, usual talents such as art, language composition and literature, and music I am only sufficient at and it is difficult for me to build these skills. In complete honesty, I have had a wonderful life; I come from a traditional family with a middle-class income living in suburban America. As a result, this question had me stumped at first. Then, talking with other students and educators, I realized as a first generation aspiring four-year college student, my journey to higher education has been challenging without the experienced guidance that students with generational higher education parents have. I realized that I have used these circumstances to develop positive attributes as well as educational and social achievements.
I work to maintain a balanced lifestyle: excelling academically, while allocating time for extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, a part-time job, family, and friends. I am the type of person who thrives under pressure and challenges. I enjoy having responsibility; I take charge and I am exemplary at it. I am a conscientious achiever and with well-rounded talents, I find myself continuously involved with everything that I am able. The drive to learn more and share what I learned exposed me. After fulfilling the algebra requirement, I realized that I enjoyed algebra. So I took more math classes, just for the fun of it. I stayed up late, working additional problems, caught up in the thrill of understanding. I became an unofficial tutor, helping my classmates with factoring and linear equations. During my life I had some accomplishments. But, I will tell you the truth I cannot call them as my great accomplishments. At this point of my life I had the two greatest events. My first event was my high school graduation. The second event, which was the biggest and the most unforgettable was my wedding day.
When I graduated eighth grade I would imagine having many accomplishments in high school. I began my freshman year in Joliet West when I was fourteen years old. At the age and at that age many teens are not thinking about their future yet. As months past I realized how bad I was doing in school but never did anything that would help me. Now, that I am a senior I came to realize how things would have been different if I would have asked for help when I needed it. I experienced failure by not passing many classes within my years of high school because of my poor choices.
My parents always tell me how proud they are of me and all i’ve accomplished in my life at such a young age. I’ve always been known as the “responsible one”, or the “smart one” out of all my friends. I’ve always been the one to remind my friends about tests or reports that are due, and they always ask what they would do without me.
I have made many achievements in my life. I am happy to be such an achiever at things. I remember my first achievement which was in kindergarten. In kindergarten I got on the honor roll for the first time. I was so happy, but I was just happy because my mom was happy. I didn’t even know what honor roll meant, but I finally founded out that is meant that I got all A’s. My mom was so happy for me, and I got lot of money for my A’s. After that my next achievement was that I learn how to ride a bike. When I first started to ride a bike with no training wheels I kept on falling. After I kept falling I didn’t want to learn anymore, but I saw that my little cousin was riding a bike, so I just had to learn how to ride a bike. Finally, after all the sores and burses, I learned how to ride a bike. I still fall every now and then.
