Choose a meaningful personal change that you want to make; A personal change I would like to make is my approach and the response I display to my teammates and the organization. I am a very independent person at work, I tend to be a controlling person in every aspect. However, I am trying to overcome this debilitating trait by learning new techniques and reflecting on the other person’s ideas, comments, efforts and suggestions without taking control. I do complete my task with little or no assistance, but it causes me to be detached, indifferent, and uninvolved from my teammates causing conflicting issues. I do sense a distance between myself and my teammates, but I continue to work hard and remain focus. I would have to take the first steps by humbling myself and reflect that towards others with providing them with an open-mind. Gaining the knowledge of what alternatives can be used to work together will give me a better understanding of what it means to be interdependent as an individual and teammate. First, I must set a goal, then prepare and envision my plan. Asking myself the right questions; how will I obtain my goal? In order for me to create the plan I must identify and define the issue, my faults. If my character can change for the better and my teammates are able to identify with it, I believe I would gain their faith and trust. Change, change, change—we’re all for change. We want to see him change, her change, their change. We want to see the organization change. We want to see everyone else change. Yes, we’re all for change as long as we don't have to change, but it is a fact of life; we all are changing every day. Every year, millions of people try to change their lives. Many want to get fitter or lose weight. Some would like to improve their relationships with loved ones, quit bad habits or start healthy ones. Others are keen to change jobs, learn new skills or improve their financial situations. More than a few wish they could socialize more become more self-confident or is happier. Managers’ ability to deal with this type of change—losing well-known team members and working with new and unfamiliar colleagues—has a profound impact on the organizational effectiveness and productivity.
