So in directing you manage cameras, lights and people to make a film look and feel right. Directors need to have many skills to help them get the shot for a film. Directors have to envision coordinate, and tell actors what to do to complete the shot (“Career Snapshot: The Film Director”). Having a director and a central power insures the movie moves forward and has the exact vision throughout filming. Directors have to keep age rating and review performances by actors and qualify them for shots. In High School Colleges look for classes like drama, journalism and video productions (¨Career Snapshot¨). But theirs is a wide range of acceptance for college. In college directors take five years of film school while making short films during education (“Producers and Directors”). With this short but very interesting and informative class I have just scratched the surface of the what it takes to make a full fleged film. It takes much more than I had presumed to make a movie in Hollywood. The number of people that it takes to make a minute of a movie let alone the entire movie was astonishing to me. There are many things that it takes to start making a movie but without an idea of some sort there is no movie to be made.

I chose to analyze Despicable Me, an animated film geared towards a younger audience, because I was interested in examining underlying theories and messages that this film would be relaying to its viewers. Often times, when watching animated films, children are not aware of these messages, as they are absorbed by the characters, special effects, and humor. But as we have learned throughout this semester, our brains are subconsciously primed by the various surroundings we are exposed to. Since we also studied the impacts of entertainment, such as television and video games, on children, I wanted to see how a popular children’s film might also affect them.
In the film industry, it takes a collaborative effort of talented individuals to create a successful film. The one that essentially is the leader from start to finish is the producer. Linda Cahir states in chapter three of Literature into Film that the producer has the most influence to help shape the artistic values and moral principles of the film (Cahir). In the following paragraphs, I will discuss the role of a film producer, how this is different than a film director’s role and what it takes to be the best.
The director is trying for the scene to come out the way that he particularly wants it to look. It is different from directing a play because since a film isn't live, there is a little more freedom and not such a time crunch while directing. With this short but nonetheless exceedingly interesting and informative class, I have just scratched the surface of what it takes to make a film. I have also learned why certain production companies choose the cities that they do. In this paper, I will bring to attention what goes into the consideration of the location where a film is made.

Commonly, cinematographers work with various cameras and camera lenses. They must know how to assemble and disassemble the cameras, change the camera lenses, and set up the shots. Despite mainly working with cameras, some many cinematographers are also film editors.
The director is the individual who actively oversees the realization of a film from script to a finished product, coordinating the creative activities of the personnel involved in the production processes. They will consult with each department, discuss various creative and/or technical options to be enforced, and arrive at a decision that is consistent with the requirements of the work. Career Research Paper I am doing my research paper on Film editors. I chose this career because I think that it would be fun to film myself and other friends playing games and having fun. I also would like to post those videos to social media because it might be entertaining for other people to watch us and so I can make whoever is watching smile and have a laugh with us. Some of my responsibilities in this career are to edit and cut videos to fit either a time period or to get all the unwanted parts out of the video.
