Research methodologies used in health sciences are;

Experimental Research: Experimental research is conducted to discover the facts in which researchers control the variables. It provides an opportunity to establish a relationship between the cause and effects (Neutens & Rubinson, 2014).

Survey: Survey may be done by conducting an interview and observing a situation or behavior. “This research involves recording, describing, analyzing, and interpreting conditions that presently exist”(Neutens & Rubinson, 2014). Survey may be done among small and large population and it is very flexible because survey can be done in many modes such as email survey, phone survey, face-to-face interview and others (Neutens & Rubinson, 2014).

Evaluation Research: Evaluation method sets the standard …show more content…

Medical instruments or techniques are used in clinical trials (Neutens & Rubinson, 2014).

Comparative and Effectiveness research (CER): Research is conducted to solve the problem based on evidence- based medicine or practices (Neutens & Rubinson, 2014).

Analytical Epidemiology: “Descriptive epidemiology can identify patterns among cases and in populations by time, place and person. From these observations, epidemiologists develop hypotheses about the causes of these patterns and about the factors that increase risk of disease”(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012).

I would prefer to use qualitative research method, where direct observation, interview and group discussion can be done among health care professionals to improve the quality of performance or practice. Also, Feelings, opinions, and attitudes of patients can be assessed to optimize the patient-driven care.
