Our team at the VEKK group have designed and conducted a research project to discover what Vancouver residents over the age of 18 think about the Vancouver Aquarium. Although this method is limited when answering specific questions, it is key for background research. Using secondary research, one can determine trends, utilize data from past reports and gather opinions on multiple media platforms. Lastly, the research team used the focus group method. By conducting a focus group, we could receive answers with greater depth to gain more insight from survey responses. The six participants provided valuable responses regarding key areas of motivation, satisfaction and improvement the Aquarium could consider for future research. By using the methods above, our team collected valuable data shown in the following report. By analyzing said data, we provide a list of ten top findings that were discovered during this project and future recommendations that we would advise. Tourists and locals visit the aquarium for the extensive array of aquatic life including fish, stingrays and penguins. The larger exhibits showcase Dolphins and Beluga Whales, which each have their own featured show every day. With the slowing economy, popular attractions must stay relevant and enjoyable to compete for everyone’s hard earned money. Our Research team will investigate the motivations of and the levels of satisfaction of customers attending the Vancouver Aquarium. What motivates visitors to go to the Vancouver Aquarium? Are they satisfied with what the Vancouver Aquarium offers? How can the Vancouver Aquarium be improved? Purpose and Benefits of Research The purpose of conducting this research is to provide data to the Vancouver Aquarium’s Board of Directors so that they can make informed strategic decisions in the future to keep customer satisfaction high and maintenance and increase attendance.
