17. Personal Presentation
● As usual, we must strive to look our best. Remember we are our students´ models, so complete and adequate use of uniform is requested. NOTE: Sneakers and jeans are not allowed.

18. Attendance, Punctuality and Permissions
● Teachers must check in by 7:30 a.m. Homeroom teachers should be in their classroom by 7:35, greeting their students and preparing their materials. This is a good time to get to know students, talk to them, reinforce habits:
● Teachers arriving after 7:35 a.m. are considered tardy. If you find that you will be tardy, be sure to call school office and notify your principal.
● Teachers that are ill and will be absent must report to the principal no later than 7:30 a.m.

20. Use of English
● English should be spoken at all times, whether you address students or fellow teachers. We are our students´ main models, so make sure that you keep your English proper and at a level that is both understandable and challenging. Our English skills are perfectible, so work on any areas of opportunity you may have, in order to offer your students the best possible English model as possible. Failure to comply will result in an administrative consequence.

21. New Students
● It is our duty to help all newcomers to our school adjust to their new situation. Assign a “buddy” in their classroom to help them integrate.

Nutritional Snack
Students are allowed to have a nutritional snack (a small sandwich, a granola bar, juice or milk) at 8:20 a.m.

23. Students’ Attendance and Punctuality
● Teachers must record attendance at the beginning of each class.
● Students should be in the classroom by 7:50 a.m. If a student arrives later than that, or comes back late from recess, or a special class they will be considered tardy.
● Students that are tardy will be sent to the Student Affairs Department.
● Homeroom teachers will keep the record of attendance and must have communication with the Student Affairs Department.

24. Visits to the Nurse
Teacher must issue a pass when students request to go to the nurse’s office
● In case the student is very ill, teacher must send another student to accompany him/her that is ill the nurse.
● Teacher must inform homeroom teacher in the first opportunity when a student goes to the nurse’s office so the homeroom teacher can follow-up.
● Pay close attention to frequent visitors to the Nurse's Office; talk to her to see if there is any situation that parents should be informed of, or if there is an underlying reason for the student to try to get away from classes.
