End of Year Essay This year was very productive. I think I improved a lot this year. I have excelled my expectations for this year. I have done a lot that I am proud of. I am proud that i have beaten my goals for P.E, academics, and spiritual life. I noticed I have improved a lot this year in P.E and I am proud of myself for that. This year in P.E I have grown faster. I think I have really improved in running. Examples that I am growing faster is that I can do sprints more quickly. I can run from point A to point B faster. I have even gotten faster in my mile run. My time is better than what it used to be. It has taken me less time to finish a mile. I have gotten stronger this year too. I can tell by looking at my arms. My arms are bigger and I have more muscle. I have gotten stronger in our P.E “workouts”. While doing push ups I do not feel so much strain, and I can do more. I’ve been able to do more pull ups this year, which is awesome because last year I barely passed that part …show more content…
I find it easier to talk to people through the Holy Spirit. Now I can walk up and talk to people. If I need something I can ask them and not be as nervous. I can even strike up a random conversation. I am more confident in talking. I am not afraid to talk to people anymore. I am willing to talk to people and not be forced. I am ready to lead this year. In leadership I take the leader role a lot. I take on a lot of projects. I am told to instruct people and am trusted to do it. In school I take charge too. An example is in P.E, for sports teams. For teams in class games I am usually picked as a spokesperson. I give ideas to people on how to lead. In school is a good example. I give students ideas about what to do in a situation. I tell them how to help people. In a project I am usually referred to for questions. I give them ideas on what we can do for a project. I tell them how we can do it. That is how I have improved in my leadership
I signed up to run track in the spring and went to summer conditioning for cross country. That’s when my coaches, teammates, and myself noticed that my running has improved significantly from when I first started. I knew that I had to work hard my senior year to achieve my goals for running. Running is a mental sport. The workouts I had to do were brutally painful and I had stay positive throughout the run because I know the training I had to do will help me during a race.
In reflecting on my work thus far, I am consciously aware of my overall improvements to date. I have become more aware of the importance in reading the assigned material thoroughly before class. This is directly linked to my quizzes in which the first mark I earned was poor, but I rebounded with perfect scores on the subsequent three quizzes. In examining my letter of introduction, I feel as if I showed what I am capable of producing under pressure. That paper was due right around the time I had to travel extensively between here and my distant home for two separate emergencies. With that being said, when you left positive comments at the end of my paper I was elated.
Track was my only sport, so I worked really hard to be the best that I can be. Track wasn't the only thing that i tried to be the best in, rather I was trying to be a better person overall. In 8th grade, I was no longer pre-diabetic or had any other health concerning issues, I was fit and strong. At the end of 8th grade, I weighed 165 (10 lbs less than 6th grade) and my height was 5’10” ( 5 inches more than 6th grade). My maxes now are 270 on bench, 535 on squat, 585 on deadlift, which as you can tell is a major jump from 6th grade.
Step by step, I have grown more to become an influential leader. Before my senior year of high school, I was always timid and shy to speak up. I knew I was capable of becoming a leader with my responsibility and intelligence skills, but my shyness held me back from achieving a leadership role at school and in the community. At school, I broke out of my insecurity bubble when I became the President of HOSA and later the President of the National Honor Society. In the community, I broke out of my shyness when I became a lector at church and became a teacher assistant in Sunday school. I became more confident with myself along with the people at my school and community. My leadership skills will grow and will become resourceful for my
Within the three weeks we did fitness testing i most improved in my muscular strength, and cardiovascular. More specifically in the muscular strength category standing long jump. The first time I did the task I had 160, then 181, then 190. It increased each time and an large amount each time but by an single digit. During class we played hand and the rules is that you can only take 3 steps, and people try to take as big as an step as they could. This has helped my long jump because it will train my muscles to extend at excessive rates. In the category cardiovascular my most improved is my beep test. The first week that our class did fitness testing I received 7.2 then 7.7. The reason that might be test had increased and level was because of the activities we did in class, such as playing Soccer and volleyball. Soccer will help me achieve in greater detail supple because you have to chase down a certain point to receive the ball or relist the ball, which will increase my speed. Volleyball helps with running and then being able to turn. In volleyball if it is out of your reach you need to run to
I honestly thought I would do better in this area of leadership natures. Even though I scored above average, it is helpful to identify some areas needing improvement. First, it is sometimes difficult for me to not get credit for some of the good things I do. Even though I succeed at this some, I also have to admit that I enjoy the “pat on the back” for a job well done. Secondly, I struggle at times with being available to others. I am a very structured person so I general have my calendar thoroughly planned out. When there are disruptions in what I have planned, it is sometimes hard for me to drop what I am doing to help someone. I have always loved helping people, but I like to plan it. I know there are things in life that people need help with that just cannot be planned. I must be flexible. Another opportunity for growth is taking myself “too seriously.” Although I am not sure I understand exactly what this means, I am usually always serious. I stay focused and try to cherish every moment of time. In order to serve people, I have to force myself to not be so serious all the time and just be more relational with
I recently implemented a "Casual Friday" option, meaning you are allowed to wear clothes that are more comfortable at work yet always look neat and professional. Casual wear incorporates many looks, but it means casual clothing that is appropriate for a professional office environment. Unfortunately, in the past two weeks, I noticed that several violations of the guidelines for dressing down have misinterpreted. So once again, we are providing you what is acceptable for casual wear, as well as a list of some of the more common items that are inappropriate. This list is just an overview of what is acceptable for casual Friday.
God is the focal point for spiritual gifts, talents, and training for leadership. The disciples were trained by Jesus. He did not take disciples into a classroom but He taught by examples.9 Many times the disciples were put in situations by Jesus to help them learn on-the-job. Even in missions, leaders cannot be prepared for every circumstance that may arise; however; with his talents, spiritual gifts, and the Holy Spirit, one can have the resources necessary to be successful. With one’s failures, spiritual gifts, and talents, the Holy Spirit will use these things to train leaders as they continue to aspire in
If (for my 12th grade graduation) I had to choose a symbol to represent all of the hard work that I had done at school, it would definitely be a battered crash test dummy. I think that it would represent all of this hard work and dedication because of 3 things. First, it shows that I’d have experienced an incredible amount of trauma against my will. Second, it points out that I have had no control over my experiences. Finally, it (like a diploma) demonstrates that in the end,it was all worth it and for a good cause.
For years I have been looking forward to the opportunity to learn in yeshiva. I believe that by spending my gap year between high school and college learning in Israel, I will be able to grow both as a person and spiritually. Through my four years in high school, I have spent time learning Gemara, and I am interested in expanding my knowledge of the area. Learning in Israel will also give me the unique opportunity to learn in a country where Jews are the majority. In America the idea of walking around any street and seeing a crowd full of yarmulkes is unimaginable. But in Israel not only is it concievable, it is actually the norm. To learn in a country that has such historical and religious significance would be an amazing experience. I would be able to set aside all my distractions that exist at home, and develop a greater appreciation for the Torah.
Throughout my life I have encountered the chance to experience position of being a leader. Being part of groups in university for class presentations, being the organizing secretary of my campus fellowship, being a youth leader in my church and the church admin, also being part of a family. Leaders are charismatic, inspirational and trust worthy. I have gained some important qualities of being a good leader through these experiences. Most of the valuable leadership’s characteristics that I obtained and strengthened are: learn to become a better leader every day, how to be a team player, to be a better listener, to be an effective communicator, to have more patience, not afraid of constructive criticism, to be outspoken, and to be a problem solver. Even though I have gained a lot, I still have more things to learn to become a better leader such as being more assertive, being more disciplined, becoming a better public speaker, and learn how to be realistic and not too optimistic. You are a leader if someone else choses to follow you.
Leadership is both a research area and a practical skill, regarding the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations. Leadersip can not definied by just one word but by action. I have seen development within myself through my volunteer service. Leadership is both a research area and a practical opportunity to share the ability gained as a individual, also through my organizations to lead or guide other individual team members who have a common goal. Volunteering in the church organizations matches my need to be of service to others. While volunteer at Fallbrook church I in return have been served I have been guided, nurtured, and challenge through the process. I have been
This year I made a personal reflection for what I wanted to accomplish this school year. I have accomplished somethings this school year but I also didn’t accomplish some of the things I wanted to accomplish this year. This school year I did accomplish my sports performance, and I also improved my grades from last year to this year. What I didn’t improve was my attendance I missed a lot of hours and days due to my orthodontist appointments.
Over the course of the writing year I have learned many new skills. It was very helpful to learn these skills because know I know how to use them in real writing and speaking.
I was able to overcome many problems and challenge myself in different aspects. At the very beginning of the year, I was very sensitive and having a bad experience meant a bad life to me. Later on, I started to realize what I am doing in school, and why I am here… I understood that life without ups and downs means you're died.
