I recently implemented a "Casual Friday" option, meaning you are allowed to wear clothes that are more comfortable at work yet always look neat and professional. Casual wear incorporates many looks, but it means casual clothing that is appropriate for a professional office environment. Unfortunately, in the past two weeks, I noticed that several violations of the guidelines for dressing down have misinterpreted. So once again, we are providing you what is acceptable for casual wear, as well as a list of some of the more common items that are inappropriate. This list is just an overview of what is acceptable for casual Friday.
" Shirts and tops - shirts with collars for men, polo shirts, sweaters are acceptable. Don't wear tee shirts, sweatshirts,
thank tops, or halter tops. Avoid clothes that are revealing and distracting. " Pants - slacks cotton or wool are acceptable. Jeans, sweat pants, bib overalls, spandex or any other gym pants is not acceptable. " Dresses or skirts - dresses that are not too short or too revealing are acceptable. Mini-skirts and spaghetti strap dresses are considered inappropriate. Please be cautious when choosing your outfit and if you have any question please don't hesitate to ask your manager in your department or me. Let make this a positive experience, so we can continue to have a "Casual Friday."
