Dear, Coach Estes I would like to start off by saying thank you.Thank you for becoming a positive role model in my life, thank you for all of your advice, but most of all thank you for being a friend. When we first met I knew that you were going to be an awesome teacher ; What I did not know was that one day I would strive to be like you as an adult, or that I would learn something other than history in your class and I never would have guessed I would call you a friend. First I began to notice that you were very slow to anger and just worried about yourself. These life lessons helped me tremendously. I realized some things are out of our reach and we should not get mad about another person's actions. That instead of yelling and screaming
I want to thank you, Dr. Sherry, for all the effort and support you provide to the students. I learned a lot from having you as a Professor, and I’m looking forward having you as a Professor in my other
Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. was born on October 31, 1951 in Monongah, West Virginia. As a child Nick had a dad who didn’t want anything short of perfection from Nick. He started working at his dad’s gas station when he was eleven years old. Big Nick, who was Nick Saban’s dad, got the idea to start a Pop Warner football team. He liked the idea of providing small town boys with an activity that would keep them busy and build character. By the summer of 1962 they had enough boys to form a team. They were named the Black Diamonds. He soon discovered that he loved coaching football and he was good at it. In their first season they only recorded one win, but they quickly improved to 5-5 the next season. In their third season the Black Diamonds started
History of LaGuardia Community College: LaGuardia Community College was founded on January 22, 1968 by a declaration of the Board of Higher Education of the City of New York, a New York State agency which was the agency in place before the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York. The college's first president was Dr. Joseph Shenker, who had been Acting President of Kingsborough Community College. At age 29 he was the youngest community college president anywhere. In October 1970, the Board of Higher Education, named the new college after Mayor LaGuardia. The college was officially opened on September 22, 1971.
Jaime Escalante, (Mr. Escalante), became famous for his work with trouble youths in the public school system. These students were considered unteachable by others to which Mr. Escalante believed that all students were teachable.
Another issue with race is Miamifield’s community perspective and involvement with it. Miamifield community members have been sharply criticized for ignoring the history and literature of racial minorities in the United States and the world. Adults in the local African American, Latino, and Asian American populations had recently formed a coalition demanding that a series of eleventh-grade ethnic studies courses be developed and offered as alternatives to any student who might wish to study American history or literature from a different perspective. This caused a conflict in the community. But the former mayor insisted that ethnic-studies courses are themselves racist since they identify race as a central element of each person rather than
I wanted to thank Ms. Geary for reminding me how much writing can do for me. It helped me realize that writing isn’t so horrible but it is just hard work. My writing skills have improved due to this class and all Ms. Geary had taught me. She made class fun with her inflections and just the way she says everything, her personality definitely showed through. I looked forward to class but never the homework. Finally after reading over my final drafts of: My Past as a Writer, Problematic Essay and my Exploratory Research Paper I realize that I have dramatically improved my writing skills in every draft thanks to revisions and some positive criticism for Ms. Geary. I think I am now ready to take on the next step in the English world.
When person at work or someone I come in contact with decides to give me an attitude or talk to me in a rude manner I try to think to myself “maybe they are just having a bad day” but most often I just get upset and take it to heart; even when I know I shouldn’t. I also express my feelings very easily, I can be open to anyone about how I am feeling and in a way I think that could also be a good thing. I will continue to better myself in this way, to not get so upset over things that are not directed toward me and things I am not at fault for and I think that will help me become a better
Mrs. Brock you are and always will be my favorite teacher and coach. When I first started basketball believe it or not I was terribly nervous to have to try out. The first day of tryouts was over and I realized how much fun this journey would be. Your passion and dedication shines and everyone on the team looks up to you. Let me start out by saying I’m going to miss you so so so so so much. You helped me in basketball so much by pushing me to be my best. Although there are sometimes where I didn’t believe in myself you did. Also, thank you for keeping me motivated when I wanted to give up. I will never forget how you can always make anyone smile anytime. I have many memories that I will never ever forget about basketball
Whether that be because a coworker has been a complete crap to you all day, or your kid didn’t listen to you and ended up getting hurt for the thousandth time in a row, to getting ultimately stressed and frustrated because your teachers didn’t enter in grades and denies any proof of that occurring, we’ve all been there. When I’ve seen others get angry, they become confrontational or even start yelling, some people that I know of even throw things either at the people that they are angry at, or at other areas, such as walls. There are four different types of angry people: the avoiders, who avoid the situation completely and ignore their anger, bottling it up; the destroyers, who throw things out of anger in order to relieve it; the screamers, who scream, yell or even just become straightforward and rude either towards the person that they are angry towards; the avengers, who come up with plans to get back at the person who angered them, though most times those people don’t actually go through with their villainy plots. The ‘trigger’s, or the things that set people off to become angry, vary from person to person. In my experience, most triggers come from when someone does something that truly peeves them, which could be anything from loud noises to the mood that the other person has towards
I am proud and grateful to call you one of my closest friends. In English we were instructed to write an essay on someone that has had an impact on our life. Trevor wrote about Greg, others wrote about their parents and I wrote about you. I would give this to you, but it is horrible writing. I did call you laudable though, so I think that makes up for it. So for the first of many thank you’s in this letter, thank you for never giving up on me, especially when everyone else had.
"I admire a lot of things about you. I admire how smart you are, how perceptive, and observant. What I'm just really in awe of is your patience. If it was me, I would be angry, miserable, hurtful, and just terrible to be around. You've been so strong throughout and so patient, even when things aren't going right, and I'm in awe of that. And you've made me feel blessed."
I masked my anger with drugs and alcohol. Hung out with people I shouldn’t have, did things I am not proud of. But through it all, my Step Dad didn’t miss a beat…he took me in and showed me what a Dad was supposed to be. I ended up pregnant at 17. Everyone around me told me I was ruining my life and that abortion was the only answer. In the mist of this, in my head, all I could hear that case worker saying “this one’s a flight risk, she runs, she’s never going to amount to anything” Those words, replayed over and over again and in that instance I decided I was going to prove everyone
In all my time on earth I was very thankful to my friends and family. I have valued all my friends throughout the years. School has changed me, and made me realize that you don’t need many friends as long as they are good ones. We had a lot of good times and I will miss them dearly. To my family, I love you all. You guys always looked out for me and helped me during hard times while I was growing up. Thank you.
I would start off by saying: my dearest Kayla, there are some very important things i've learned over the years that i'd like to let you know. First off everything that seems imp...
Now I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me get this far. First of all, thank you to all the teachers. None of us would be here without you always pushing our academic abilities to the fullest. Jessica Parker a.k.a. my partner in crime as Mr. Tri would refer to us. You made everyday coming to school worthwhile. Hillary Laswell, who would leave third period to go steal flowers from horticulture and give them to Mrs. Granillo with me. My brother Jeramie who always said, "If anyone is mean to you, I'll take care of it." My Mom, thank you for always believing in me and putting up with me when I was a real jerk.
