Introduction to my Five Strengths The five themes from my Clifton Strengths Report overwhelmingly echoed what I already see as active assets in my personal and professional roles. My five attributes in order from highest to lowest are Activator, Command, Woo, Communication, and Futuristic. These have aided and sometimes cause misunderstandings, but these are elements I have learned to hone, define, and exercise in order to develop others under my charge and myself. Activator In defining activator for myself there is a large number of habits that remind me it is a verb, it's a word and characteristic of action. I am the person who talks to the people in the grocery store line and leaves by having already given a verbal dissertation on my life or viewpoint. This is a downfall/habit I believe I learned from my family, I am the third generation of "20 Minute talks" I have an inability to stop talking or openly discussing with people. As I have learned to harness myself over the years, I see how it aids in my influencing people, because if someone hears something enough they will begin to believe in your vision or your observation. This also is my direct line to building trust, because it is not only spewing out words and explaining it is paired with listening and being attentive to what others are saying. I align everyday discussion with purposeful direct professional advices. Communication does help me with students when they are trying to explain something and lose words or cannot describe things, it helps them fill in blanks. In Physical Education it is key, I not only have to show visually the movements and actions but verbalize and communicate the sequences for students to use as guidelines for success. If my communication is not clear I had a bank of different word approaches to get through to students if it must be differentiated for them. This trait will trigger the desire for results that are meaningful and carry validity to present clarity on the topic of the contempt perception of Physical Education as an academic subject, and its teachers as professionals. Which can lead to a qualitative evidence to present to professional learning communities, administrations, school boards, and possible grant specialist for further research for the school and its students. Command is a strength that strives to take charge of the information and keep seeking until thoroughness is met. This is because this strength it allows me to have the tough conversations and pose the hard questions until all avenues are exhausted. My WOO is the charisma and passion toward spotlighting the lack of respect in the discipline of Physical Education. It presents itself as curious and forthcoming excited to learn which will lead me down several research avenues and present new evidence and findings for a well-rounded product. . Unquestionably, this strength will be the one to bring to the forefront of researching the marginalization of Physical Education as a subject and its teachers respect as academic professionals.
