Being well groomed is important in many businesses as staff are a reflection of the company, this is very important when working in the public sector. As often you must meet clients and members of the public, in my case residents of Havering Council. As the business may be judged by external clients on their meeting with staff it is important that staff leave a good physical first impression. This may include smelling fresh and wearing office attire as to display professionalism. Being punctual creates a good first impression both to internal colleagues and external clients, in addition to this it increases the output, as, if everybody gets in on time (9, o’clock), then work can start from that point and more will be done than if half the team arrive at 10. If a member of staff is late back from break this can reduce the amount of time another staff may take. As such it is important that staff are punctual when returning from breaks as to be considerate. It is important that staff are polite to both colleagues and clients. When working with other colleagues especially from different departments it is important to encourage a positive working relationship, this is aided by being polite. When dealing with external customers it is important to not seem to be provoking to the client, in the department I work in, we deal with parking Penalty Charge Notices; as such it is important for staff to be polite and professional, as this tends to be a sensitive topic for many members of the public. It is important for staff to have a positive attitude towards work, if staff feel happy about the work they are set they are more likely to finish it efficiently, working efficiently is also important when working with others, if group work is approached with a positive attitude then staff are more likely to work
Prioritising – Employees must be able to decide what tasks are important and carried out first and what tasks are less important and so should be completed later in the day or
When reading the book The Goal written by Eliyahu Goldratt, there were many lessons that I learned in order to have a clear and concise understanding of a positive level of productivity in a company. To have a positive level of productivity there are may components that are taken into consideration. Understanding what it actually means to be productive and how to increase the level of productivity by knowing the actual goal of the company that is trying to be reached and the components that go into the process of being productive. There are many factors that contribute to the level of productivity and being able to identify these factors is the key ingredient to having a successful level of productivity.
In an industry like ours, where there are no production lines, people are our most important asset and everything depends on how they work as part of a team. This means that, to get the best results, managers have to care about how they live and function, not just about how they work and produce.
It’s always good to show up to work properly dressed, on time, and to work very hard. I will explain all three expectations and say why it’s important to the employers that you should be prepared and properly dressed,
First impressions are lasting impressions. Health –care professionals help project a positive image to all people whom they encounter in the medical environment. Medical assistants with a good appearance has an effect on the patients they meet daily. The impression that a medical assistant portrays to the patients colors the image of the physician and the care the patients expect.

The pressure can come from the need to make minimum wage money or a parent deciding on what their kids need to fulfill financially. When choosing something partaking interest in, they are content and adore what they do. Love for their work profession encourages a positive attitude and this is needed for productivity. When an employee loves what they do, they attain a constructive behavior. But, when productivity is sacrificed, it begins to suffer with negative employees who only work to make a piece of change. The only determination they pertain to is to increase their productivity in order to get more money, but in due time this makes them traumatic and hostile. Undesirable employees have no interest in the work, soon the satisfaction is hard for them to achieve, leading to insufficient motivation. This in turn, also contributes to a higher level of productivity within the workplace as well as employee job satisfaction, which can also have an impact on reducing the level of absences within the workplace
Positivity An enthusiast and positive attitude often provides more to company then brains. Having an employee with positive attitude in a company allows for suggestions or initiative to be taken (Heryati, n.d.). Positively lead to a more productive workday and creates a healthier environment for other colleagues (Smykal, 2016).
