Being punctual is vital, it helps the workplace run more smoothly, it also shows how serious and dedicated you are to your job. Punctuality depicts that you are capable of handling responsibilities. As a sales advisor attending work at the right time shows that you are a reliable worker. No company likes someone who is consistently late for their shift or who never shows up to work. The ability to accept criticism shows you where and how improvements can be made. If a manager asks to have a talk and criticizes you, remember that criticism should be viewed as useful feedback that can help you improve yourself rather than put you down.
Leadership is the main factor that makes everything work together seamlessly. Without leadership, all businesses are ineffective. Without business leaders there would be nobody to provide guidance and direction for employees to follow. As a sales advisor, they come up with new strategic directions, as well as communicating with and motivating employees to increase dedication to organization.
Tolerance helps overcome differences that are present in the workplace. As a sales advisor, some employees may have diverse cultural backgrounds. Without tolerance the company progress becomes spoiled and creates an environment where there are misunderstandings and unethical behaviour. Tolerance allows the workplace to develop an understanding of another’s
Punctuality is another thing that I have learned in NJROTC, but with much hard work did I learn this. We all know that we slip up sometimes and slag around from class to class. Because of this we make ourselves late sometimes, and no one wants to get a tardy, so our instructors offer a healthy alternative. If you are late to class then you have the option of doing push-ups or getting a tardy, now witch would you rather do? Not only does this punishment instill punctuality, but if you are hard headed you can build up incredible upper body strength. Being punctual to a job will allow me to keep it and also impress my bosses.
There are many issues that may cause cross-cultural conflict in societies. These include language, religion, personal appearance, cultural norms and non-verbal behaviours. As a society, accepting and respecting different cultures to understand the backgrounds of where they come from opens up new understandings of acceptance. By being ignorant to cultural diversity and believing in a dominant culture is not demonstrating respect and understanding of others cultures. Religion can be a very sensitive and personal choice/ issue and in a work environment may cause probl...
...es too much room for error. Giving yourself enough time prior to your appointed formation also deters you from making up an excuse for being late. A squad cannot function to its full potential if a soldier is late. It reflects onto your superiors and your unit presentation as a whole. Another reason why showing up at least thirty minutes prior is beneficial, is for you to be in a relaxed state of mind. You do not want to be waking up stressed because you were in a rush, it never reflects well on you and yet again, leaves too much space for error. Lastly, arriving thirty minutes prior is for you to make sure you are well equipped to be prepared for the day. Always arrive early so you will have moments to relax, plan your agenda, connect with peers, get informed and organized for daily tasks.
Leadership plays a major role in determining the success or failure of an organization. Leadership skills can be developed, and learned. Everyone at some point in their life will be asked to be a leader. For instance, arranging an outing with peers, subordinate or family members. This person can be appointed or volunteer. To source for ideas, locations, shortlisting the ideal places and discuss with group members.
Leaders are the individuals who help to create options and opportunities. They help in identifying the choices and solve the problems. They build commitment and coalitions. Leaders do this by inspiring others and working along with them to construct the shared vision of the possibilities and commitments of a better group, organization or community. They engage the followers in such a way that most of the followers become leaders in their own right. The variety of demands of an increasingly complex world very often require that leadership be shared by most of the members of an organization, in appropriate ways for different situations. A leader is the on...
Presently many of us have learned that managers are primarily administrators who have learned to write business plans, utilize their resources and keep track of progress. We must learn that we are not limited by job title, and that means we can utilize our management skills in any position that we are in. We must also know that we can use our leadership skills in the same situations. On the other hand we have also learned that leaders are people who have an impact on those that surround them. The main difference that separates these two roles is that management is a function that must be utilized in any type of business, and leadership is the relationship that the leader has with his followers, which in turn can motivate and energize the organization.
It is very important to be on time because accountability is everything. I suppose no one is ever late but if they are typing an essay will make them never late again. But on topic being on time shows that you are trust worthy and you can be depended upon. If we were actually deployed in a combat zone you would only want people by your side that you trust. You want to be on time because if you’re late it can mess up people’s schedules. If you show up late it makes people think that you don’t care about your career and that you are just shamming to get by. Showing up on time shows professionalism, it shows also that you are trustworthy. It shows people that you have leadership and that you don’t need someone watching over your shoulder babysitting
Discuss the role of leadership and how it can impact organizational performance. The role of leadership is the most important part of an organization. Leadership is having the ability to influence people to trust, believe and follow the vision. There are several different types of leadership styles such as transactional, leader- member exchange, and authentic to name a few. Transactional leadership appeal to an employee’s self-interest which involves motivation in some way to get the employee to do what is needed. This leader mostly deals with employees achieving a goal, then being rewarded for accomplishments. “Leader-member exchange suggests that leaders develop different relationships with each of their subordinates through a series of work-related transactions.” (Hellriegel and Slocum, 2011, p.323) This leadership is a type of bonding between leader and employee or obligation to each other. Authentic leadership deals with a person’s knowledge of self, their beliefs, values, and acting on a clear faith system through honesty and communication with employees. This leadership is more personal than the others because it pulls from an individuals’ personal belief value system.
In the workplace, time management is an important factor in everyone’s day-to-day work. If a person’s time is well managed, it is possible to achieve a greater amount in a shorter space of time. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Effective time management can have a hugely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mentality, giving a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and also their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritises their jobs at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all of the important jobs. However, if time is poorly managed it can lead to inefficiencies, work overload and added pressure, this could eventually lead on to other issues such as stress.
Leadership is essentially the ability to motivate. An effective leader can motivate others toward reaching a common goal. Leaders are different than managers in that leaders inspire others to do the work needed while managers generally tend to manage the tasks associated with completing the goal.
Reliability is another good trait of professionalism. Being a reliable person implies that your co-workers can depend on you when you show up on time, and submit your work when it’s supposed to be ready (Monster, 2013). Reliable person will always take responsibility and maintain accountability of what she or he is doing (Octech.edu, 2013). Showing up late for work or meetings gives the impression that you don't care about your job so make sure you pay attention to the clock. Not only does this go for start times, but th...
Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization. (House et al, 1999, pg. 184) And the leader is a person who has this ability.
In the workplace, it is common to encounter individuals of different cultures, ethnicities, and genders. This diversity can either lead to an introduction of new work methods, or it can lead to conflict between coworkers. In order to avoid conflict, and have all employees work as a cohesive team, managers must educate themselves, and their employees on the topic of cultural diversity. In order for your practices to be considered effective, you must not only respect and recognize an employee’s diversity, you must use their difference to benefit them.
