The Importance of motivation in the face of adversity.
Motivation is the reason for acting or behaving in a particular way. Adversity is a misfortune and/or difficulty in a situation. Maintaining a reason to say motivated when difficulties present themselves is one of the best way to make it threw a demotivation challenge for most people. It will set goals, lift spirits, and morale not only for yourself but sometimes for others as well. Some people trouble with this ability do to the fact it normally comes within. People have different ways of finding this drive. This is sometimes more difficult for some than others. This ability to find the fight from within is a natural human drive and more than not it is not perfect. There are many different

It may be more time consuming and take longer for the results, but they always seem to give the best results. If you show that you are there for them and want their best interest they will work harder for you. You have to work just as hard if not harder to use this or it will fail. If you can do it, use it to their and your best advantage to reach the goal. When adversity hits you can better connect and help overcome. To overcome adversity and keep your motivation it is best to have the support from those around you as well as yourself. If you can’t help keep yourself motivated how can you expect someone else to? Sometimes it does help to have that little bit of a push here and there. Knowing you are doing good, being recognized now and again. Even using privileges and benefits to help as it’s been proven and recommended in most training environments. For example promotions or the opportunity to do things that you haven’t been able to enjoy for a while. There are also detrimental ways to effect motivation during an adversity. One of the most harmful ways in my opinion is negative motivation. Adding the constant threat and stress of punishment to a person already …show more content…
Without this ability there will be no need or want to perform any task that is given. Pushing threw a hardship with motivation can also build someone up. It can increase their confidence as well as their goals. But this cannot always be accomplished without the correct support. From the person building it from within to the person giving the rite balance of reinforcement or room to fail. There is a very fine line between the two. Find your motivation to make it threw to you dreams. Sometimes you might have to pick up a job in order to provide to yourself or others but if you can’t keep your motivation then you will never be able to continue on to the bigger greater things life has to offer. It will better prepare you to deal with life and its everyday challenges. You have to embrace the good and bad and stay focused on you goals. If you fall pick yourself back up and keep going. Be confident in your dissensions. More or not I found if you stand up for what you believe in and do the right thing, you will become a lot more satisfied with life. You may not go as far as you wanted but at least you know you did the right thing. At the end of the day I’ll go home happy with myself
In the article, “The Top 5 Reasons most people fail”, it states, “...we have to take action in order to get somewhere.” Chris Gardner needed to take action for the sake of his family. He went from door to door, and no matter how hard he tried, he was barely scraping by with the funds of his medical machine. There was an opportunity for a job at Dean Witter and Chris Gardner took the opportunity in a heartbeat. He lands a spot amongst the 20 interns competing for a paid position as a stockbroker. Chris Gardner did not know where to start however he put in as much effort he could put in to get there. When an individual takes on a big role, there is that voice in the back of the head saying they can not handle the task ahead of them. This can further lead to the feeling of depleted motivation and irresponsibility. Having the willpower to fight off the voice and conquering the task can determine a person’s grit and can further validate their
According to Robbins et al; (Robbins et al, pg 296) motivation refers to the process by which a persons efforts are energized, sustained, and directed towards a goal. This definition has three key elements: energy, direction, and persistence. Motivation is a complex and important subject, has historically been given a great deal of attention by Psychologists, who have proposed theories to explain it. (Riggio, pg 188),
How would it feel to be able to achieve anything that you ever dreamed of? This is possible with the right mindset and an extremely hard working attitude. The keys to this is holding a growth mindset, which aids you in embracing challenges, persist in the face of setbacks, see effort as the path to mastery, learn from criticism, and find lessons and inspiration. Another crucial element for success is grit and what that short word basically determines is your strength of character. Having a growth mindset and using grit can help you achieve whatever goals that’s being attempted.
An example of this for me is I always want to strive to better myself. I have always wanted a better life. So I have found that the harder that I work for something the easier it
To be in a position to motivate people, it is key to understand what actually motivates them in
What is motivation? According to text, motivation is defined as a set of factors that activate, direct, and maintain behavior, usually toward a certain goal. Motivation is the energy that makes us do things: this is a result of our individual needs being satisfied so that we have inspiration to complete the mission. These needs vary from person to person as everybody has their individual needs to motivate themselves. Depending on how motivated we are, it may further determine the effort we put into our work and therefore increase the standard of the productivity. There have been a wide variety of theories about motivation developed over the years. Several are drive-reduction theory, arousal theory, psychosocial (both incentive and cognitive) theory, and Maslow’s H...
Motivation comes in all different forms, and it depends on how a person perceives it. Motivation can be anything, and affects each person differently. A person can have multiple ways of inspiration that encourage them to succeed. A person has to be at the right place in the right time, and it’s just a matter of finding it.
Motivation can be most commonly defined as the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. However, motivation according to Daniel H. Pink in his book Drive can be explained in several different ways. Motivation for me differs from these explanations as it is not only about rewards and punishment, but also about self-gratification. An example of something that personally motivates me in my endeavors is becoming successful in the future.
Motivation can be expressed as something that drives people to pursue a mission. In Ernesto Galarza's fictional short story, “Barrio Boy”, Ernesto is a young boy who goes to Lincoln to become Americanized. In the excerpt of the nonfictional story, The Other Side of the Sky by Farah Ahmedi and Tanim Ansary, Ahmedi goes through a long and dangerous adventure to escape Afghanistan with the hope of finding somewhere with peace and safety. Ernesto is motivated by the acceptance of others in order to be Americanized, while Ahmedi is motivated by finding peace and safety in her life by leaving Afghanistan.
Being competent in what motivates different people, can fulfill autonomy goals and fulfill relatedness with others when accomplishing a common goal. Incompetence in motivational skills can have negative results with others and for the company. Remembering everyone in life is continually striving to meet their own personal needs of autonomy, relatedness and competence; can guide you in choosing which motivational technique can achieve the best result for all.
Motivation is defined as the process that guides, initiates, and maintains goal orientated behavior and thought (Cherry, 2013). Motivation is what drives individuals to do what they do, whether it is something as simple as getting a drink because he or she are thirsty or something as big as getting up every day and gong to work for a paycheck.
According to Greenberg (1999) motivation is defined "as a process of arousing, directing and maintaining behaviour towards a goal." Where directing' refers to the selection of a particular behaviour; and maintenance' refers to the inclination to behave with consistency in that manner until the desired outcome is met.
However, it is not enough to be motivated only to achieve something, in first place people have to have an ability to perform. An ability is learned or natural capacity or talent, that enables an individual to perform in a particular job or task successfully.

¡§Motivation¡¨ derives from the Latin verb ¡§movere¡¨ which means ¡§to move¡¨. Beck (2004, p.3) defined Motivation as an internal state which is the driving force that activates behaviour or gives directions to thoughts, feelings and actions of an organism.
