Lewis Central uses the Positive Behaviral Intervention and Support progam also known as PBIS. The three towers of PBIS are respect, responsibility, and taking the initiative. If you show these three things through out the school, you can be rewarded. Teachers hand out tickets, and it has your name on it and what you did to earn it. You can trade in these tickets for prizes like gift cards, blankets, and even a ticket to the front of the lunch line! Respect is when you give honor or admiration to someone or something. There are many ways to show respect, and to give it to your peers and teachers. One of the most simple things to do is to avoid getting off task. This means not talking about what’s for lunch, but instead working on what you are …show more content…
Putting your phone away at the start of class, and only using your chromebook when needed helps you push yourself to act more accountable. Turning in assignments and studying for tests is another way to prove you are responsible. I am going to show that I am responsible by turning in all my homework in on time, and always coming to class prepared. Initiative is the ability to assess and initiate things independently. It goes hand in hand with responsibility. Taking the initiative would be something like leading a class activity. Instead of sitting back and being quiet, you should raise your hand and start a conversation. Also instead of always asking your teachers questions, you should try to answer them on your own. You could ask your classmates what to do, or look around the classroom to see if anything could help. If somebody drops a book, or a marker falls off the board, you could take the initiative and pick it up. I am going to take the initiative by trying things on my own, and even if no one is watching I will do what’s right. The three pillars of PBIS is respect, responsibility, and taking the initiative. Through out Lewis Central teachers and other students encourage us to follow these rules. Understanding the concept of these three guidelines, not only helps us in high school, but also prepares us for the real
Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Throughout my life, I have met countless role models (supervisors, co-workers, teachers, coaches, my parents) who push me harder and harder every single day so that I will succeed beyond belief in the changing world of today. Respect is also holding you up to an expectation that gets tougher and tougher because I am pushing myself harder. I will always have respect for all today, tomorrow, and the future
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
Today we are going to talk about initiative. There are 2 definitions to the word Initiative. The first definition is, the ability to assess and initiate things independently. The second definition is, the power or opportunity to or take charge before others do. Some synonyms of initiative are, advantage, edge, lead, whip hand, and trump card. There are many ways to show initiative like taking charge of a group to get things done faster. Also, doing correspondence courses or learning things you haven't learned before when there is no task given out. Initiative is a very important part of a person in general. The reason being for having this as the most important part is because if you show initiative then you will not look like a
For respect for all person, I put guys helping another guy to climb the mountain. This shows respect because it shows that he just didn’t climb and just take his break but instead he turn his face and helped the other guy to finish climbing the mountain. This might not really represent respect in other people's point of view but for I define respect also as helping other in any circumstance and be able to show that you can respect people by doing things instead of talking.
Respect is a very important thing to have in life. Without respect, there is only disrespect. Every person
The Importance of Respect in Our Society Respect plays a role in our everyday lives. When we go to school, there's respect. When we go to a restaurant, there's respect. When you go to your family reunion, there is respect. You may not notice it, but that's only because they are being respectful to you.
Earned respect builds a stronger respect and a stronger relationship between people. When another person earns your respect you work harder to have that same respect returned to you by emulating that respect-worthy behavior. One example of this is my 5th grade teacher, Ms. Cindy Lee. By allowing us to call her by her first name, Cindy, she made the learning environment a lot more approachable. Another example is certain NYPD officers, who have breaking the "blue wall of silence';, re...
Lack of respect can be viewed in many different ways and it 's different for each individual. Lack of respect is to not respect a specific individual the way they should be. “ Shut Up mom I do what I want ” said my cousin Edwin. It is sometimes considered as disrespectful, which means to be insolent with someone in an act or be offensive towards them. Lack of respect comes from the word respectful and lack means to not give enough. You are not give enough respect to that specific person. When I was a child I didn 't know the exact meaning of lack of respect I just knew I needed to respect my parents and teachers in a rightful way, my parents helped control this by not giving me too much
To receive respect from others, it is always best to give respect first. Respecting your peers and people above you is an important trait to have in the work place especially, because without it, a cooperative and peaceful environment is not possible. If everyone gave each other respect, there would be few problems and things would run smoothly, but the world is not perfect and everyone is only human. People do not work well together if some type of respect is not established. Jobs don’t get finished, or if they do, they are not finished well and in a timely manner. Of course, it is still possible to work with others without respect, but not alongside them.
teacher, helps to give understanding in this giving of respect. As a young citizen of society I have
Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is a success.” He said, “It is a success In my classroom, my goal is not only to teach my students, but to also have my students interact and work with each other on a daily basis. I want them to develop life-long skills such as respect, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership. The beginning of the year starts with a discussion about respect and what that means in our classroom and in our school.
Respect goes a long way in education. You have to give respect in order to get respect some would say. Children have to be taught how to give respect. Schools are on of the first places where the behavior and future educational success is shaped. Teachers either have a negative or positive affect on student’s behavior. Out of behavior comes respect. You want to be that positive role model that a student needs to have success in life. The first years are very important to children because this is where they learn the base of educational life. Teachers must h...
