Every student has his or her favorite teacher, but that teacher may not be the best qualified person. The future of any student depends on the qualities and dedication of a teacher. The teacher is the one who creates an interest in students to develop and progress and achieve what ever goals they set for themselves. The qualities of a teacher are: a good teacher tries continuously. A good teacher is always ready to take risks. They have a positive attitude and try to give confidence to his or her students. Teachers will also give you words of encouragement.
A good teacher tries continuously. Teachers respect students who try hard and even if they don’t succeed; students should also respect their teacher. Teaching is not going to be easy from day to day, but being an educator you still have to do what it takes to encourage the students to keep up the good work. When a student isn’t doing well in a particular subject it is your job to make sure you have covered all necessary step in order for the student to understand. Students learn differently so when you find creative ways to get the lessons across to the students it makes you feel like you have accomplished something.
Respect goes a long way in education. You have to give respect in order to get respect some would say. Children have to be taught how to give respect. Schools are on of the first places where the behavior and future educational success is shaped. Teachers either have a negative or positive affect on student’s behavior. Out of behavior comes respect. You want to be that positive role model that a student needs to have success in life. The first years are very important to children because this is where they learn the base of educational life. Teachers must h...

...ow to read and write their name you are instilling something in them that will give the confidence. Just think of how you felt when you first learned how to ride your bike. The more and more you do something and the better you become at it will build your confidence to want to learn more and more. The positive attitude involves encouraging and also letting them know that you believe and have faith in them. So when you set the tone on learning for your students it gives them the moral to want to learn more.
In conclusion the qualities of a good teacher are a good teachers tries continuously, a good teacher is always ready to take risk, and teachers have positive attitudes and always give confidence to their students.

As I read these articles, I agreed with almost everything that was said. The Great Teacher Question: Beyond Competencies, by Edward R. Ducharme begins with a sentence that basically sums up my reason for teaching, “I begin this essay by defining a great teacher as one who influences others in positive ways so that their lives are forever altered” (Ducharme, 1991 p. 2). Over the course of a student’s education they will have many teachers, but there are maybe only one or two who are THE teacher. The teacher who impacts this child’s life in a positive way forever. The rest of the articles follow this same theme, suggesting ways that teachers can become THE teacher. One of the most important qualities I found in these articles (and one I
Another important quality of an outstanding educator is competence. Outstanding teachers are highly capable. They know how to do their job, and they do it very well. They are smart, well ed...
After spending some time reading about effective teaching, I found that one of the key aspects that seemed to come up most was communication. I believe that as a teacher you will need to have a range of communication, interpersonal and group skills. Communication is not just about being able to speak with your students , but also include writing, reading, listening with your eyes and ears, and also body language.( Ornstein, Lasley ,2004) For effective communication a teacher must interact and communicate respect , there should always be respect for the students, Parents, Colleague’s and their network of educational professionals . I feel that listening deeply and giving credit for the student’s contributions will encourage respect from the students, a great example of this can be seen in the (Online course: Becoming a Teacher,2005). The Teacher’s Name is Anne Christodulou, and the communication with her students is continuous, respectful, shows a caring attitude, and provides a model of high ethical standards. Coulson (cited in Killen, 2009) describes: “Effective communicators as teachers that will relate well with students, explain clearly, make their expectations explicit, and engage the students.” I be...
I never had a teacher that I clicked with. Changing from school to school was hard and anytime I would get close to someone, I would end up changing schools. I never knew what it meant to have a teacher care about a student so much. That all changed when I moved to Delafield, Wisconsin in 2007. I started a new school in the fourth quarter and everything felt the same. All of a sudden, when seventh grade came around, I felt like a whole new person. This is the year that I met the teacher who became a part of my life. Mrs. Wroblewski has positively inspired me to follow my dreams and be who I want to be. Mrs. Wroblewski is an inspiration to me and a role model because she defended me when I was bullied, gave me great opportunities, a great listener, and is always there for me not matter what.
... After all, when we discuss and aspire for teacher effectiveness the progress of our students comes first, so it is our responsibility to make sure we provide that chance for everyone.
An ideal teacher is the one we respect from our heart. He/she acts as a guide to the students, while not pushing them too much. Such a perfect motivates them and boosts their morale. He/she tries to encourage the students and refrains from criticizing them.
To be compassionate about what their students are dealing with outside of school. Take the time to sit down with the student and talk to them, if there is an issue. Even though, the teacher and students schedules get occupied with the amount of work that needs to get done. There is still a way to reach out to a student or teacher if one of them is determined to do it can happen. Nowadays, it is easy to communicate between them both, so there should not be an excuse about not having the proper communication. Then, respect develops more between them. The teacher gives a clear act of respect toward the teacher; therefore, the student does the same for the teacher. There should not be special treatment or anything like that at all. All of these factors mentioned are descriptions of an effective teacher and good qualities that they must express while entering into the teaching profession; that is what makes a teacher
Being a teacher is not an easy task as many people could think. To be a teacher does not only imply to know the subject to be taught, it also includes being willing to constantly improve oneself integrally, as much as updating the resources and materials one uses in teaching. Reflecting and analyzing over and over again the best way to teach to learn and how to make students to extend what has been learned. The many hours spend in the classroom will never be enough to plan lessons, prepare materials, review pupils tasks and exams, as well, all the administrative requirements one has to cover for whatever institution we work. Besides all this a good teacher, a professional one, will have to find the time to keep preparing to improve oneself.
Knowledge of Content: My high school Algebra teacher was very knowledgeable of her content area. She could explain the rules and methods of Algebra with ease. She also knew how to make it easier for her students to understand.
There are many things which make a teacher great and they all can`t be defined. However i`ve always considered several of them essential. In my opinion a good teacher is someonewho first of all creates interest in studying, doesn`t underestimate the children, has equal expectations of siccess from everyone and last but not least likes his job.
Devoted teachers are extremely important to a perfect education. The teacher is just about the most important of the three parties necessary to create a model education. Teachers have the responsibility of forming good relationships with both students and parents. Teachers must also be able to effectively communicate with both parents and students in order to ensure that there are no misconceptions or confusions about the children's educations. A good teacher is aware of any special needs that certain children may have and is able to help those children adjust to the curriculum accordingly. Although it may seem obvious, teachers need to be patient and empathetic when dealing with his or her students. The vast majority of teachers already possess these qualities. Many students, however, have complained of teachers that appear to have "no time" for their students. Teachers with an unenthusiastic attitude relay a negative feeling back to their students and that can create problems in the classroom. As mentioned earlier though, people usually won't become teachers if they are uninterested in providing an excellent education to their students.
To help students up the ladder, school indirectly teaches its students about respect. Although not found on the pages of any text book, learning lessons in respect can be very helpful. The idea of respect starts with teachers and often branches to the development of peer and self respect. Everyone has experienced a teacher that they couldn't stand and dreaded going to that class. It was times like that which challenged the respect that had begun to develop. In eight grade, my english teacher was one of the mose mean people I have ever met. I got a 0 on a quiz because I spelled one word wrong (it was not a spelling quiz). I hated going to her class, half the time, I just wanted to scream at her.
We need to continuously assess and evaluate our students so we can set appropriate goals for each student and individual instructions. Each child learns different, so as a teacher we need to have different styles of teaching for positive reinforcement.
One good quality a teacher should have is, respect for the students. Each person’s ideas and opinions should be valued and not judged. They should be able to express themselves without feeling insecure. Another good quality is, having high expectations for your students. Each student should be encouraged to do their best and achieve goals that they may have never met before. Another good quality is, I believe a teacher should have is good communication skills. They should keep not only the students informed on what is going on in the class, they should definitely keep the parents informed as well. Teachers need to know how to communicate with all their students because some are at different levels than others.
Each relationship is different and each teacher has his or her own way with students. I have seen from a distance that for the most part students have great respect for teachers and therefore get respect in return. A couple of teachers expect respect, and since it is not earned, students do not always give it. I live by the thoughts that I have to earn the respect of the student body and model behaviors for them. The relationship I build with them is up to me, but in order for great things to happen, I need to foster individual relationships and show that I care.
