Now you're in a pickle! Your phone goes off in the middle of class. Your teacher takes your phone, what to do now.You are disturbing the other students. Students should pay attention in class. If you know your teacher will take your phone power your phone off and pay attention in class. Phones go off during classes almost every day. Now students want to play games on their phones and be on social media like Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Musical.ly, etc. This is why students should not be allowed to be on their phones during school. Now, I am going to tell you three reasons why students should not be allowed to phones during school hours. One reason students do not need to use their phones cause they can be texting on websites like Snapchat, Instagram, or Facebook. They may be texting their homework to each other. Students do not need Instagram or Facebook. Instagram and Facebook show bad pictures and videos sometimes and kids do not need to see those things. This causes students to be obsessed with their phones and Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. This types of social media are bad for students. This is one reason why students should not be able to use their phones during school hours. There is another reason why students should not have …show more content…
When they cheat they can get the answers off their phones. If they are taking a test or a quiz they can get on their phones and type up the questions and get the answer. They also can take pictures of the answers. If the teachers go over the study guide a student may take out their phone and just snap a picture of the study guide. Their friends can also take a picture of it and text it to them and they can screenshot. Students can also text their best friend from another class and ask them the answers. This is another reason why students should not be allowed to have phones during school
As you know students aren't aloud to use phones in school because they are too much of a distraction and kids will always be on their phones instead of listening to the teacher and actually learning at school.
Teachers are finding it harder and harder to separate a student from their cell phones for eight hours. Cellular devices and social media have become a number one priority for many people across the world. Due to the fact that the student will not put down their phones during school hours, their grades tend to be lower, which could, in the long run, affect their chances of getting into college. The use of cell phones does not strictly affect younger generations, it also had major influence on adults at the
Also phones can cause distractions in school, having a cellphone in class
In this case, it can be hard to incorporate teaching an entire student body with the use of devices many of them may not own. This not only puts these children at an academic disadvantage, but also a social disadvantage, such as being bullied for not having the means to own a phone or cause feelings of jealousy and resentment within a student. Many schools also have their own cell phone policies, setting rules and regulations in order to allow students the use of their devices, but with set limitations. These limitations are often unable to deter students from the temptation of using their device when they feel they must, however, and can be very hard to follow through with discipline when it can be so hard to catch students breaking these rules.
The problem of students not being able to keep their phones can be solved by giving students responsibility of their phones, having a web filter applied, and teacher monitoring their usage. Letting students take responsibility of their phones can help them manage their time and get things done quicker. Many students are more comfortable using their phones rather than a school computer, and it also makes them more efficient with their research. It is important for students to stay in contact with each other; with their phones available, they can communicate from longer distances and share information with each other. This will encourage students to talk with each other in order to help
Children think it is a way to pass the time, but actually it is causing them be unable to do their schoolwork. If this happens students would fail all their classes because they rather be on their phone instead of doing schoolwork. When teachers catch them using their phones when they are supposed be doing work it is not going to be all fun and games anymore. This is how phones privileges are a distraction for
But in the other hand student just want to be with their phones for fun. When your in class and the teacher is giving a lecture students pull out their phone and go into social media. I think that's a bad idea because your missing out in the lecture and when it comes to testing your not going
Some teachers are oblivious to how many different techniques can be involved and the way technology is being used to cheat in this day and age by many students. By teachers knowing this information, they can keep a better look out for cheating. School board members need to know how cheating is being done and they need to educate the teachers and on what to look for in order to detect when a student is cheating. The schools need to keep up to date with what students are using as methods to cheat, especially when students are becoming more problematic with cheating and finding other ways to cheat that teachers do not know about other than just using each other, such as using computers, cell phones, and websites to write papers. While talking about cheating, Zach Miners, author of U.S. News and World Report Education article of “One Third of Teens Use Cellphone to Cheat in School” says “More than one third of teens with cellphone admit to having stored information on them to look at during a test or texting friends about answers, a new survey finds”. This clearly shows that students are becoming more deceitful about
Phones can be used as other resource and learning devices, they can be used to look up study documents, test prep answers, notes, facts that can be used in daily school class periods. kids seem to only use phones and cellular devices as ways to get on social media and contact friends and family, when they can be used as so much more. students constantly use their phones or devices in school and as a student i do it myself, but some students use their phones as curricular
Today’s cell phone is the front line technology at our fingertips. Keeping this in mind the use of cell phones have become an affair when it comes to allowing teens to use them in educational environments, such as schools. One part of society supports the use of cell phones while the other part of society disapproves the use of cell phones. I personally believe that cell phones should not only be allowed in school, but cell phones should be mandatory just like a textbook. Cell phones do not only allow students to stay united with friends and family, but cell phones are also a magnificent learning system, and they boost the liable use of technology.
It’s not a reasonable defense for using cell phones. You can spend time for your cell phones at home. I can say that students must always be busy in the classroom, they all have their works to do instead of connecting with peers in other countries. Why don’t they use their own time to do that? That skill doesn’t need teachers to teach you how, but teachers are really necessary for explaining other lessons. As I know, today’s children probably don’t need teachers for their digital devices, most of them learn by themselves.
Schools should allow cell phones in schools for children's protection and safety. Secondly, cell phones can keep you connected with your buddies. Instead of screaming, and yelling in the halls to ask your buddy for books, you can simply call them on your cell phone. Some students ask themselves, "If teachers are allowed to use cell phones in class?"... ...
First of all, students absolutely should not be permitted to use cell phones during school hours because it is a distraction to other students. This is an issue that plays a huge role on student’s lives because it takes away from their academic education. The s...
Ever since incidents such as 9/11 and Columbine, high schools have started implementing new rules regarding cellphones. Cellphones regard the attention of building managers, teachers, parents, and students. Although teachers see them as a distraction and a way to cheat, they can be quite helpful to students. School districts should permit students to use cellular devices in school for purposes of improving their education and providing themselves a sense of security.
The first reason to support that mobile phones should be banned in schools is that devices can be used to cheating for instance, text friends about answers during a test, take picture of test questions with mobile phones to send to friends, search the internet to answers during a test, and store information on mobile phones to look at during a test. It is suggested by Benenson Strategy Group (2008) indicated that 65 per c...
