Do you think phones should be used during school hours? Students may use their phones in appropriately during school. They would get distracted or they would even cheat on test if they were to have access to their phones. Children having access to their phones would be a disaster waiting to happen because there are some students who would use the opportunity unresponsively in and around school. Students should not be allowed to have access to their phones during school hours. Students would cheat if given the chance to use their phones. They would cheat during huge exams like the Georgia Milestones. Even though they cheated on the exam they would pass, but it would not be fair because they cheated themselves to the other grade. Students would use Google or Safari to search up the answers to an exam or work that they are doing in class. They would text photos of their answers to other students if they needed help on the specific problem. When children cheat and the …show more content…
They are considered a distraction because they buzz, vibrate, or worse ring during class distracting everybody around them. It would cause all the students to loss concentration to hear a phone go off during class hours. It would even cause the teachers to get angry and take the phone away. Students would use it to text each other instead of learning cause them to be distracted. They would show some of their classmates funny or cool videos, or images making them get distracted in class from getting any work done. Children think it is a way to pass the time, but actually it is causing them be unable to do their schoolwork. If this happens students would fail all their classes because they rather be on their phone instead of doing schoolwork. When teachers catch them using their phones when they are supposed be doing work it is not going to be all fun and games anymore. This is how phones privileges are a distraction for
In the quote found in “Cheating in School Reflects Basic Confusion in Society” written by Mari Pearlman in the LA Times in August of 2012, gives very valid points about how cheating starts in the household you grow up in. Cheating can start in the household which carries on into schools and even professional work center. Everybody cheats, where and how we learn to cheat starts how we are raised in our own homes. The argument of why people cheat can go two different ways.
If phones are allowed at school, it will make kids less social. how are kids going to make to make new friends if they are on their phones all day. Sooner or later they will have to find a spouse or get a job. How are they supposed to do that if their noses are in their phones all day.
Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools. I agree with the latter opinion for the following reasons: Cell phones are an efficient way to communicate when emergencies occur in school; cell phones can be a great tool for learning during school hours; and the current prohibitive rules on cell phones are merely fruitless efforts. Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they could be very beneficial and practical in schools.
Schools should allow cell phones in schools for children's protection and safety. Secondly, cell phones can keep you connected with your buddies. Instead of screaming, and yelling in the halls to ask your buddy for books, you can simply call them on your cell phone. Some students ask themselves, "If teachers are allowed to use cell phones in class?"... ...
Kids should be able to keep their phones out in school because they might need to contact someone out of school. The mayor of New York(Bill de Blasio) changed the policy of having phones in school because
Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it creates more drama, and it promotes cheating. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because kids are always wondering what their friends are doing and what is happening outside of school. If they have access to their phones all day, then they will be glued to them. Phones are more entertaining than a teacher lecturing at the front of the class. Most students will start to zone out, or fall asleep, when a teacher starts a lesson.
What if you could have your phone out in class and not get in trouble for it, instead it be encouraged for you to have it out. Phones can be a benefit and there not just a distraction. Although some students may use social media or play games in class this can be monitored. Phones should be aloud out in class for the many benefits it brings to students and teachers. One benefit being is, it can be used as a dictionary or a source of research.
Cell phones are small and portable yet provide so much to its user with being able to look up anything to calling your parents in case of an emergency or if you need to give them a heads up on something. With the way things are today people need to focus on incorporating cell phones into daily life and finding ways to make them more suitable in a classroom environment. Teachers are already doing this though with using apps that work with the whole class and can track data and usage of a student. It cannot be debated that cell phones are beneficial in school as before cell phones you would have to go to your local library and hopefully find what you are looking for. Cell phones belong in a school environment as they can be helpful and it 's a parent 's right to be able to get ahold of their
Do you think phones should be allowed in school? I personally believe that we should have phones in class as students because there are many events that happen at school and you need to let your parents know. I think that having phones in school is a wonderful thing because if you have an emergency at school and you need to call your parents. Also if you forget your book, homework, basketball shoes, or softball cleats then you can call your family member or someone you know to bring it to the school for you, and trust me as teenagers you forget a lot of things I have forgotten every single one of these things.
More than 76% of schools in the United States allow cell phones in the school and allow students to use them at their convenience. Cell phones can be used anywhere and anytime, including the school. Most schools don’t have a cell phone policy during classes, lunches, and locker breaks. I disagree with having cell phones in school because not everyone has a cell phone, students will get distracted from their work, and cell phones will have a higher probability of going off in class. Even though cell phones are great to use, they shouldn’t be used during school.
Cell phones can distract from school work and they can distract from driving. Cell phones can easily distract from children getting their school work done. They could get distracted by playing a game or looking at social media sites. If the children don't do their assignments it could cause their grade to go down. This could affect what jobs they get when they are older which could affect their whole live.
The part of society that is against the use of cell phones in school do it because of the interference that a cell phone can cause. Nevertheless we must accept that we live in a world full of technology. We miss out if we do not take the upper hand of the educational power of the cell phone. Overall, cell phones supply us with learning resources and encourage suitable use of technology. Therefore the schools should not ban cell the use of cell phones on school grounds.
Due to the many advances in technology who has made it a lot easier to communicate with people all around the world. This is also be easier to contact loved ones so you can never lose contact with them. The first reason to support that mobile phones should be banned in schools is that devices can be used to cheating for instance, text friends about answers during a test, take picture of test questions with mobile phones to send to friends, search the internet to answers during a test, and store information on mobile phones to look at during a test. It is suggested by Benenson Strategy Group (2008) indicated that 65 per c...
