1.7.1 Technology

1.7.1.1 Conceptual Definition

Technology was used by human increase their ability to make, do or achieve something. Kubesh et al., (2009) stated that with technology people can communicate with each other all over the world. Technology in this research means that a systematic application of knowledge of sciences to practical tasks in education (Singh, 2006)

1.7.1.2 Operational Definition In this study, technology is defined as the science of communication and learning that develop by the technology. As with every technology, however, understanding the skills of the main users and their attitudes toward the new tool is of fundamental importance, in order to guide development of appropriate educational

The assessment of attitude will expressed whether that smartphones help improve access to the courses learning material and whether the smartphones enabling students to learn more independently.

1.7.7.2 Operational Definition

In this study, assessment of attitude is to measure some basic subjective attitudes toward the use of smartphones as educational tools. In this study, students were called to respond whether they agree or disagree to use smartphone for learning purpose.

Demographics information consist of age, gender, ethnics and program of study.

1.7.8.1.1 Conceptual Definition Gender is defined as the characteristic of a person who has traits that differentiate men and women in both behavioural and aesthetic, which often linked to man’s masculinity and woman’s feminism. Men and women have their different way in accept something new in their life.

In this study, it is affected by gender of the young adults.
