Technology in education is a touchy subject in the United States. Many parents believe that technology will only hurt their child in future, while some believe that technology will help their child. Parents have to be open and must allow themselves, to see what is happening before they make their decision.
As a college student who would like to become a teacher, I believe that technology will help a child. All children learn differently, and technology is to help the children who have no other place to go. Some children are just unable to learn from a teacher, that is when technology plays a big role. Some children have to show themselves how to do things and technology will allow that.
Technology has many different effects on education, one of them being enhancing the students learning. Technology may enhance the students learning and may assist most students in achieving their academic standards. When technology and appropriate teaching methods are combined, technology may increase the academic achievement. Positive effects have been found in all major subject areas, from preschool to higher education, both regular and special needs students. Educational technology has been found to have a positive effect on a student’s attitude toward learning and on self-concepts. The introduction of technology into the learning environment has allowed the learning to be more student-centered, to encourage group learning, and helps to stimulate an increase in the student-teacher interaction. Technology has shown a shift from a focus on a student’s memorization to their problem solving. Through technology’s use, learning opportunities have become unrestricted by time or place, allowing lifelong learning. Student use of technology through communications can also help to enhance access to a career and continued education. Students are more likely to use a computer to get help because they can to it themselves. Technology is helping students to become independent.
Due to the technology increase many schools are reporting higher test scores. One example is Northbrook Middle School in Houston Texas. The school is largely made up of minorities with low socioeconomic statuses. The students at this school recorded test scores that were sharply improved due to the involvement of technology.
Technology in education helps with communication issues also.

Technology is very beneficial to children in school because it makes education more entertaining, allows kids to learn outside of school, and provides low-cost alternatives to poor families that are just as good as going to school.
While America was at war, women took over the jobs in the factories as men were away. Women quickly picked up “male-dominated” jobs such as welding and riveting. Women were essential in making sure there were products and supplies to send over to the troops. Their efforts countered the misconception that women were unable to perform manual
Health has been acknowledged as fundamental human right and oral health is a vital part of overall health and can be called the first line of contact to the human body. Behavioral and social factors significantly impact oral health. Diet, oral hygiene practices, pain control, treatment adherence, dental anxiety, oral health knowledge and literacy, access to healthcare and dental insurance, as well as other socioeconomic factors, are some of the many behavioral and social oral health-related issues. Americans are enjoying increasing level of oral health. However, oral health improvements and dental care services are not being experienced evenly across the population. The poor, some racial and ethnic minorities, institutionalized elderly people

In addition, Healthy People 2020 have many objectives for oral health such as, “Oral Health of Children and Adolescents, Oral Health of Adults, Oral Health Interventions, Monitoring, Surveillance Systems, and Public Health Infrastructures” (CITE). However, one of Healthy People 2020’s main objective for oral health is providing access to preventive services. Their high-priority health issue for this is to “increase the proportion of children, adolescents, and adults who used the oral health care system in the past year.” Their baseline reads, “44.5 percent of persons aged 2 years and over had a dental visit in the past year in 2007 (age adjusted to the year 2000 standard population).” Their target for 2020 to raise that percentage by 4.5 percent
Today the sports world is being overtaken by performance enhancing drugs. Steroids have been around for many years, and yet people are still using these drugs to be the best they can be, when they know that it is unfair to the athletes that are not using these drugs. Steroids have many effects such as androgenic effects, but can also create easy muscle building due to the testosterone put into the drug. “Brown-Sequard injected himself with an extract from the testes of guinea pigs and dogs. In 1889, he reported to the scientific community in Paris that these extracts increased his strength and alertness” (“Freedman, 8”). “Synthetic anabolic steroids, the same anabolic steroids we have available today have been used in competitive sports since the 1950's,
From a very young age, my parents instilled in me the habit of practicing good personal hygiene. They always told me in order to be my best self I had to ensure to care for my health through preventative methods. Unfortunately, many underprivileged families are not as fortunate to receive the same support and guidance as I have. Thus, when I started at the University of Florida, what I wanted to do became clear: to help disadvantaged communities in the healthcare field; more specifically, I focused my time in helping underserved communities understand the importance of preventative oral hygiene. And so, this neglected issue is what fueled my passion to pursue the craft of dentistry.

For instance, allowing students the opportunity to use high tech software as they learn can potentially prepare them in future job opportunities. Students at the High Tech High School in San Diego are taught using the same computer programs one might find in a future job, thus preparing them for their future career (Schorr, Jonathan, and Deborah). Students who have used and are accustomed to using similar software as they might find in a workplace have a greater chance of being hired by the corporation and having overall success. Not only can this be a successful way of instruction, but it can also effectively inform students of different software. Similarly, students who learn the needed technology skills in high school are more likely to find success in a high-tech working career (Coleman). By giving students the opportunity to learn and become accustomed to various technology while still in school, it increases their chance of success with high-tech devices in their future careers. Using technology in school can therefore positively impact the students. Also, technology can engage students in learning. Empire High School, for example, had replaced all their textbooks with iBooks and Apple laptops in order to increase student engagement. Many teachers did in fact believe that the students felt more strongly about their school work after the experiment (Rotstein). Incorporating technology into curriculum can increase students’ willingness to learn. Because the majority of students enjoy using technology, adding it to school would be effective in increasing their will to learn. Some schools believe that technology can become a distraction, however. A student at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia commented, "’The teachers think their students are engrossed in class research when they 're actually playing video games and surfing the Net, (Welsh).’" The use of technology
Having good oral health is very important as it can help keep away many diseases which occur as a result of poor oral hygiene. As people age, many factors can contribute to poor oral health: potential physical, cognitive and sensory impairments associated with aging and diseases, Use of prescription and over the counter medications, lack of dental insurance, and poor oral care. Most older adults live in nursing homes where oral health is not very well implemented due to other major health problems which are given the first priority. This puts them at risk for major diseases
Technology properly used in the classroom has many advantages to a student’s learning. Technology can help students become more involved in their own learning process, which is not seen in the traditional classroom. It allows them to master basic skills at their own rate rather than being left behind. Teachers and students alike can connect to real life situations by using technology in the classroom; this can also help to prepare students for real world situations. Technology can be used to motivate students as well as to offer more challenging opportunities. It can also be used as a visualization tool to keep students interested in the subject that is being taught. When technology is used effectively, students have the opportunity to develop skills that they may not get without the use of technology (Cleaver, 2011). Assessing and monitoring students is easier on the teacher because of the ability to use technology in the classroom. When technology is used correctly it offers limitless resources to a classroom atmosphere.
Technology affects every aspect of our lives. From romance to business, it has shown its presence everywhere. But technology has had a huge impact on education that cannot be denied, and has done nothing but improve the quality and quantity of education.
In conclusion, technology has changed education for the better allowing access to unlimited resources, distance learning and broadening the means of communication. Technology creates a more encouraging environment and stimulates students to engage in something they may be familiar with. Technology has allowed people to know more and to collaborate with each other. Students have a great range of technologies which strengthens the relationship between knowledge and students. The technology used today throughout the world will only strengthen and advance the 21st century education system. With unlimited resources, students can take advantage of their learning and gain the most from it. Integrating technology into education promotes a better learning community.
Modern technology has made it so much easier to obtain educational information for classroom or homework assignments. It offers educational games that stimulate the brain and help children who have difficulties focusing on traditional teaching and learning procedures. College students are even taking advantage of online courses that many colleges are offering as an alternative to physically attending classes. Advances in technology and computers will continue to play an important role in education for many generations to come.
