Program Goal K
Goal K- apply persuasion and influence through networking, collaboration, and relationship building. I believe this goal is applicable in the face of other goals, meaning you cannot practice this goal without communication, core principles of the profession, understanding technology, the practices and policies that govern collection management and so forth. It is the practice of all these skills that help facilitate negotiation, networking, collaboration, and relationships. Although, communication is intertwined throughout this goal is using all the skills together that provide the competence to apply goal k.
Relationship to the Information Profession
As librarians, we should practice all aspects of goal k. Our commitment to the core principles of the profession is reliant on our proficiency to advocate for them which is goal k. By knowing and understanding those core principles and using that information to develop and implement services we practice networking and collaboration. Through understanding the mechanisms of communication then a practical application can be administered to goal k. Perception of personal communication style not only allows for one to understand how they deliver messages but also how their message may be incoherent if not delivered in the best way. The realization that we all communicate differently and those differences must be deliberated when we send out messages whether in person or using technology. It is easy for messages to be misinterpreted so preparation before delivery should be thought out. “The Goal” is a book written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt and Jeff Cox in 1984. The book is very famous in the management field. In 2004, the author published the third revision of it and celebrated selling over than three million copied of it around the world. Also, the goal book is taught in over than 120 collages. The book was recommended by my professor to be read and summarize as an extra credit.
6. Assist client with looking at alternatives and setting goals that are important to him or her. Mutual goal setting ensures that goals are attainable and helps to restore a cognitive-temporal sense of hope (Johnson, Dahlen, Roberts, 1997). Clients who do not know what to hope for are without hope. Thus an integral part of developing hope is determining and setting goals. The significance of the goal to the individual is complex and critical to sustaining hope (Morse, Doberneck, 1995).
Communication is the process of conveying information to each another using words, actions, or by writing the information down to be read by another person. Communication is something that most people do at some point each day, and is an important part of life especially in a working environment. “The concept of communication is an essential part of every profession, and it is required to foster and maintain healthy relationships”( Jasmine, 2009, para. 1).
Our mission is to participate and prioritize activities of the class as a group, to complete our team paper and assignments in an efficient and collaborative manner to ensure not just a passing grade but a clear understanding of the course for all members. We have set the below goals to assist in the achievement of our mission:

The purpose of this paper is not to teach you, or to show you, how interpersonal communication is essential to everyday life at home or work. But, I am going to do my best to at least show you how essential communication skills are in all areas of life by using me as the example. My plan is to focus on some of the elements of interpersonal communication that we have been touching on this semester. While reading our Interpersonal Communications Book, three goals kept being highlighted that I personally wanted to accomplish by the end of course. I’m sure that by now I have noticed that I keep referring to my topics as goals.
For this report I will be studying the key communication concepts and analyses the responses and develop actions for improvement to my self. I will start with the explanations and identities of my personal style within listening and responding & Emotional Intelligence as well as make some references to these communication dimensions. Also in the report would be provided an interview to my friends to meet information about my communication style from different perspective. Then report will finish by myself-reflection to the response and develop actions for improvement.
When establishing goals, leaders must impart a notable strategy to succeed and delineate their motive and core values in essence that is notable and attainable. A powerful vision summons and encourages people to situate their vitality in a common ground. By establishing goals, the organization will expand its capability to fulfill goals, construct employee’s reliance and confidence, ameliorate team’s connection and increase all-inclusive fulfillment and gratification. Creating a vision can be a venture or a challenge, however following the six steps Clark (2014) mentioned – “vision, goals, objectives, tasks, timeless and follow up” can be justly straightforward.
It is very important to understand that in everyday communication we are either the speaker or listener and it’s important that we do those jobs as best we can in order to have a healthy communication relationship. This activity was very useful because I got to reflect on my past successes and failures in my communicating strategies and in doing so I can improve and adapt to become a better communicator and listener. I believe that this assignment is very useful because it is real life experiences that may occur again and I can better assess the situation and use the appropriate communicating strategy necessary. This reflection will help me in my personal development by giving me situational experience that I will be able to correctly approach in and out of the

Interpersonal communication is one of the significant skills while communicating with other individuals. It normally covers an extensive area and includes both verbal and non-verbal communication. Body language and facial expression may affect the accurateness of the message transmission directly. Interpersonal communication skills normally ensure that the message is sent and received correctly without any alteration thus improving the communication efficiency. Learning diverse aspects of interpersonal communication has greatly aided me in better understanding of what it consists. I am capable of applying the knowledge gained from this course to my personal experiences. This paper reflects on my personal experience in learning interpersonal communication.
Company goal is to educate us on the many options that will assist us in realizing our full potential and take to action to create the results we desire. From communications to goal setting and time management, we can all become more effective in our work and relationships.
Communication is one of the most important factors in our lives. It dictates the relationships formed with the individuals in personal and professional lives. Effective communication provides a foundation for trust and respect to grow. It also helps better understand a person and the context of the conversation. Individuals often believe that their communication skills are much better than what they actually are. Communication appears effortless; however, much of what two people discuss gets misunderstood, thus leading to conflicts and distress. To communicate effectively, one must understand the emotion behind the information being said. Knowing how to communicate effectively can improve relationships one has at home, work and in social affairs. Understanding communication skills such as; listening, non-verbal communication and managing stress can help better the relationships one has with others.
