It has been every child’s dream to visit the happiest place on earth since the word ‘Disneyland’ had been uttered. Disneyland is a place where the stories created by Walt Disney Studios come to life and allow the visitor to be a part of these wonderful tales.The famous theme park has created millions of joyous memories for every family that has entered through its gates. But the main question is,why was one of America’s most famous travel destinations created? All though the Walt Disney Company makes a large profit off of Disneyland each year, it is obvious the theme park was created for the entertainment of the American family because of the resources and the amount of detail that was put into the project.

Walt Disney Studios has had many successes since its creation. In 1928, one of the most famous names in the American household was born, Mickey Mouse. Created by Walt Disney, he was the first talking cartoon made in the short “Steamboat Willie” Following the creation of the world famous mouse, Disney accomplished many more feats, including being the first company to produce a cartoon in color, “Flowers and Trees”, and making the first full length animated movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Amusement parks were originally created to advertise other businesses and products. They were originally called “Trolley parks” because they were stationed at the end of trolley lines. These trolley parks commonly had free entry, were unsanitary, broken down, and were involved with gang activity making it dangerous to the regular public. Because of the Great Depression and WWII, many of these establishments were forced to close. Later, Disney would change the amusement park industry and family entertainment
