Walt Disney: The Man of Many Chapters “All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles have strengthened me. You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you” (Walt Disney). Walt was not a likeable man. Mark Steyn, a writer from The Spectator, also adds that young Disney was beaten by his father. Having an abusive childhood can damage a child’s mind and view on the world. Although a having rough beginning, he grew up to do what he always wanted. His story could be inspirational because it shows children how even the worst of situations could turn out bright. He stayed true to his dream and “wished upon a star” which ultimately ended up working in his favor. In addition, Walt Disney worked in a jelly factory and in his teenage years, worked for his father. (Lenburg “An Innovator”). He ended up very successful in life, but his cartoons, shoved down at times, once forced him to work in a factory. He always kept the love for drawing in his heart though. The man stayed true to himself even when times were rough, and the message shown through this is to pursue what one loves because everything is possible with skill and …show more content…
“Four theme parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Tokyo, and France today bear his name, along with everything from a major motion picture, to a television production arm, to a distribution company, to a home video division, to an animation studio” (Lenburg “An Innovator”). Many people enjoy visiting theme parks. Walt started out as an ordinary child, but grew up to create something magical. With four locations of Disney theme parks, they bring entertainment for those who enjoy the thrill of rides and happiness of meeting their favorite character. Some people prefer turning on their television in times of boredom, and Disney has its own channel which provides many hits. The pet mouse that Walt had while growing up in Kansas City inspired him to create the sensation, Mickey, whom provides an ample amount of entertainment. For example, he is found in television shows such as the Mickey Mouse Club and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Another place he stands is at Disney parks where he greets his biggest fans. He performs many shows during the day as well. Finally, some films under Walt’s name are Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Toy Story, etc. Walt brought us those films and a large amount of more (“Feature Films”). Some films could even be considered “classics”. From the movie screen to the television
“Despite the undeniable fanciful world of Disney’s shorts, it would be a grave mistake to associate people’s attachment to the Disney brand as nothing more than a desire for escapism.” (Page 113) She indicated that the society needed something that they could not identify with to “escape”. She also claims that Disney changed fairy tales and made it more fit for the American society. Disney portrayed the “American dream” of happily ever after and happy endings. She concluded that Walt Disney changed social myths and dreams in to a transformational literary form, and helped the grey and cloudy America have a little hope.
Walt Disney has always been known for his brilliant imagination and his overflowing abundance of his well-known Disney characters, each with their own unique personalities. Growing up the Disney princesses were a huge role model to girls my age. The princesses never really appealed to me as much as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Ariel was known for her love for adventure, her complete stubbornness and her dedicated love, mainly to her beloved Eric. Those three characteristics are also three that portray myself.
Walt Disney influenced technology. Without Walt we would not be as advanced into technology as we are. His first animation creation was The Alice Comedies with the company, Laugh-O-Grams. The Alice Comedies did not end up very well and ended up causing the company to go bankrupt. Most people who did not know him thought he was a failure and would give up, nut that was the complete opposite.
At the young age of sixteen Walt Disney was not the typical teenager. He was not obsessed with how he looked, or who did or didn't like him. His concerns were of the world and the fate of his country. In 1918, Walt signed up to defend his country in the military, but because of his young age he was turned away(www.tudlp.org Walt Disney Biography). Rejection was no discouragement to Walt, in fact, it was quite the opposite it was an encouragement to join the American Red Cross. With the Red Cross Walt was immediately shipped over seas to be a chauffeur and ambulance driver(www.tudlp.org Walt Disney Biography). Even in times of war Disney could bring smiles. Disney risked being captured, by covering his ambulance not with usual war time camouflage but with bright lively Disney cartoons(www.tudlp.org Walt Disney Biography). Again, unlike most other teenagers, who were more concerned with getting the job witch paid the most money and entailed the least amount of physical labor, Disney volunteered out of his own free will to risk his life for his country with his only reward being the moments of happiness he had brought to a country plagued with war.
With the creative ideas pouring out of Walt Disney every story had unique ideas that captivated the audience. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Walt Disney's first movie had a rocky start. He presented the premiere of the movie to some college students. However thought the movie was terrible when they all decided to leave halfway through the movie. Having the mindset that he failed again he left the school's ground. Later he found out though that the students had to leave because of curfew. Walt Disney’s creative ideas are what pushed him forwards, further into the success of
Walt Disney grew up to become a world-renowned animator, but before that he struggled immensely because people did not like his vision. He loved drawing animals that could talk and walk like humans but the media saw that as weird and creepy and did not see the joy in it as Walt did. Marketing is interactive the movies are marketing the
As Walt grew, so did his Imagination. The more famous he got the more ideas and dreams he could make a reality. Working out of his Uncles cramped garage, in the sweltering California heat was over. Walt had begun a new chapter in his life. Now receiving countless Oscar Nominations, and being eulogized for his many movies and cartoons. Where up to this point in his life he had many role models and people he looked up to, now he was a role model to many people. Walt Disney impacted the lives of many aspiring filmmakers, and changed the movie industry.

Striving and pushing forward with his natural talent of the creative arts and entertainment, Mr. Walt Disney became one of the most well-known entertainers that is mentioned all around the world. His great animation and artistic works but also with his world famous characters and popular theme parks, the first one, Disneyland, being built in Anaheim, California in 1955.
In the 1950s, Walt Disney, achieved his lifelong dream of creating the happiest place on earth known as Disneyland. Disney, in some way, is a part of many people’s lives all across the world. . Disney print ads and commercials can be seen worldwide. Without Disney we would not have the animation and fairy tales that many of us enjoy today. . Walt Disney’s dream and genius idea created an inspirational business that is a part of many generations of families around the world.
Walt also added more disney characters to the films. Walt loved the idea of Disney characters so much that he wanted to bring them to life to make children and families happy. Walt came up with the idea of creating an amusement park with rides, disney characters, sweet treats, and art pieces. He called these two amusement parks Disneyland, Anaheim and Disney World, Florida Walt did this because he knew that these two amusement parks would make him well known and nobody would ever forget who this brilliant man is. Walt called Disneyland “the Happiest place on Earth.” (Watts 20). Walt called it this because he knew his guests would appreciate his handiwork so much by visiting Disneyland again with their friends, family and loved ones. Unfortunately, Walt did not get to finish creating Disney world, Walt had passed away with lung cancer at age 65 on December 15, 1966. “His brother Roy finished creating Disney World for him.” (Watts 50). Disney World had also become a popular theme park because of its Disney characters, animals and beautiful scenery. In today’s Society Fame means being famous because of something that is trending or being famous for what you created. For example, Walt Disney is famous for creating multiple Disney parks, Entrepreneurship, and Disney brands. Walt also became well known to everyone because he created Disney Brands that reminded us of our childhood. were really value Walt’s Disney brands, because it is what we look forward to purchasing as a gift or souvenir for a friend or for ourselves and makes us feel happy. For example whenever i go to Disneyland with my family, I always see people wearing mickey, and Minnie Mouse ears. Seeing this proves how much Disney brand grows on people. Everyone loves it so much that Wearing these ears and other type of Disney products makes us feel like we're a part of it. We wear his brand because we are in love with his amazing work so, we purchase his brand as a sign of appreciation that
He took bold actions like creating new methods of animation and brilliant new characters such as Oswald, Mickey and so many other characters. Now I bet you're wondering why did you do this project on him and did he inspire you in anyway, and if so how? Well, I answer to both of those questions for you. Well, I did the project on him because there's so many things that I wanted to learn about him and because I wanted to do somebody who did something artistic and yes, he did inspire me because when I learned how much ups and downs he had to go and how he still didn’t give up and was able to make the first movie with sound and color, now I know that if something is hard, just keep pushing and you'll make it, if you try. So why do I need to know about him, well you need to know about him because he was the one that created movies with sound, and I bet half of the movies in your house wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Walt
All of that are just accomplishments to him. What really is amazing is how he started from scratch, he made friends in the production business and he worked his way to the top. He is a perfect example of the American dream. He is an American icon to be modeled after. Walt had many failures and he kept trying and trying till he prevailed. Once you see his accomplishments and how successful he was and then you read his biography, you will understand how he represents the American dream. There is nothing individualistic about him or his parks. Walt’s goal was to create a world where you can dream and think. You can have faith that one day your prince charming will come or that you may save the world but it is on a smaller scale than that, it is closer to reality. Your husband or wife is that prince or princess and you rescue them from a certain stage or a stagnant part in their life. If you’re a father or mother, you are your children’s superhero. That is the view that he is trying to prove to
Walt created many movies and plays and really brought attention to the theater field (Harmon 1). He was the creator of the series Laugh-O-Gram which was a collection of short animated cartoons (Biography.com). He also created the world famous character Mickey Mouse which first appeared in the short films “Plane Crazy” and “The Gallopin” (Biography.com). He went on to win twenty two Academy Awards for all
Not only does Mickey Mouse have educational purposes, he also tries to create a Utopia environment for all families that use and watch Mickey’s products. Mickey Mouse wasn’t always known as good, and wasn’t always a mouse. Before Mickey there was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, also created by Walt Disney, who would get into all kinds of trouble no matter how hard he tried and would always remain somewhat happy (Borak). Although Walt was happy and proud of Oswald, he realized that he did not own all of the rights of Oswald and Walt did not like the thought of not officially owning the character that he had created, so Walt moved on, leaving Oswald in the dust (Borak). That was when Walt decided to create his own character and try to use it to get big again, and this is where Mickey Mouse came into play.
This dream gave him the strength to never give up and keep climbing the ranks to make his dream come true. Disney’s quest wasn’t an easy one, for he had multiple problems that dragged him down. However, they never kept him down for long, for he always searched for ways to get back to the head of the game. This ambition inspires me greatly, for this dream of becoming a famous and
