There are many situations in life where you can feel upset or melancholy due to a negative situation that you are in. This is a fact of life, for we all face adversity sooner or later. Though negative situations aren’t easy to overcome, there are ways to turn negative situations into positive ones. The three main ways i’ve found to be effective include: being optimistic, taking adversity as a lesson, or remembering that everything will get better soon. Those have helped me through my tough times, and I hope they help you through yours. In life, not every moment is constantly positive, but one way i’ve found to turn negative situations upside down is to always remain optimistic. This is one of the three ways listed in my introductory paragraph.
Award-winning author Mandy Hale once stated, “Without negativity, life would be amazing.” However, this statement does not always prove to be true. Today’s modern community generates a judgement that negative experiences will ruin your life, but studies show that negativity can actually result in positive change. For example, negativity can positively change teenagers actions, introduce teenager’s to more supportive environments, and help fix broken relationships.
If you keep being positive, positive things will happen. The narrator here uses a logical point of view to show he learned something in a situation where it seems like he only
Ever hear one say, “Sometimes I’m busy making others happy, that I forget to make sure I’m okay.”? After reading Barbara Ehrenreich’s Bright-Sided I have learned that balancing both positive and negative thinking is the single most important life lesson shown throughout the book. Ehrenreich tells readers that the power of positive thinking Is undermining America and how being too positive and too optimistic, can lead to trouble. One that knows how to balance the amount of positivity and negativity will create a proper outcome for their future.
This shows that positive thinking can get in the way of all your hopes and dreams. You may have an image of a life that seems perfect, but you need to be able to separate that from reality and not get the two mixed. It sometimes blinds you from the true reality. Also in the same text, it stated ‘’the pressure of positive thinking can result in suppressing any pessimistic thoughts or unpleasant emotions because they might attract bad things. You deprive yourself of access to the complete picture and the full range of emotions.
In life, we face negative experiences that can either make or break us. In the film “Rudy” we see that Rudy did not let the negative times in his left break him, he kept trying and was resilient. He established a goal of going to Notre Dame and did not let the obstacles get in the way. Even though he failed into getting into Notre Dame, he kept trying until he finally got in. In life one negative experience I had was when my brother told us he was moving to Ohio to be with his girlfriend. I had to find resilience through embracing change, creating a strong social network and being optimistic. Like Rudy I had to overcome obstacles and I did so by building resilience.
If someone thinks negatively towards something the outcome will not be good, and vice versa. Thinking you can achieve the American dream is a major key in doing so, and some Americans are already on the right track. In the U.S., a survey showed that 36 percent of Americans say they have achieved the dream, and another 46 percent believe they are on the path of achieving it. It is not so easy, though, to always look on the bright side. Sometimes it seems as if nothing is going right; that is when negativity occurs. People can argue that mindset has little impact on the outcome, or that it does not matter how positive a person is because some things are just not meant to be. An article, however, proves this wrong. The paper argues how negative emotions prevent humans from flourishing; it also states, “if your ratio of positive to negative emotions is greater than 2.9013 to one, you will flourish both physically and psychologically.” If a person believes in themselves, they are more likely to accomplish their
Optimism is applicable to both crises and normal living. It has been shown how optimism brings about the good life amidst catastrophe, but what happens between major life events? One cannot live the good life without a sense of purpose. Optimism encompasses both goals and one’s hope in their accomplishment, giving one a sense of purpose and an anticipation of happiness in times of comfort or distress and keeping the individual progressing within their life story. Thus, a positive view of the future is critical to the good life in adversity or
...hey will not focus just on that because in life one cannot just focus on the negativity, they must balance it out with both good and bad. If one did not then many would be running through the motions of life, instead of experiencing them one at a time.
Intro: Optimism is the key to a successful life. Winston Churchill once said “The pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist see the opportunity in every difficulty,” (BrainyQuote). Pessimists focus on the negative aspects of an event, while an optimist is ready for the challenge. After completing the challenge, optimists are affected in a positive way. Many people are positive during a good time, but how many people are optimistic during a rough time or a life threatening tragedy? Research shows that only 50% of people see themselves as optimists opposed to pessimists.
feel sorry for yourself and work through the problem. It's being able to look at the bright side of
Make a conscious effort to filter away the impurities and focus on all sort of positivity so that it goes into your subconscious mind and gets stored.
There is a positive side to everything. Even when I thought I was never going to smile again, I knew that it would get better eventually. Even in one of the hardest times of my life, when my parents got a divorce, I still found a way to put a smile on my face. Not only a smile but a positive attitude. I learned a life lesson I will never forget. As a matter a fact, out of all the things my parents have taught me so far this has impacted me the most.
First you start off with accepting what happened, Because if you all sad for a long time you won’t get anywhere being sad. Accepting what happened to you makes everything go way smoother like aimee mullin she hit her challenge with humor . She’s just trying to have a good idea about it so she won’t be in a bad mood. A different person named Bethany hamilton it took her a couple months to accept what happened to her. If you don’t accept what happened everything will move slow and nothing will go as fast as you want it to. So if you want to get past you obstacle this is one of the ways you get past it.
...r attitude upside down to combat her depression and achieve both hers and Natalie Coughlin’s dreams. In all these ways, a positive attitude leads to a better world for both the person and society around them. In summary, one can only better their view of the world by changing their mental outlook on themselves, life, or other people.
Despite the negative circumstances that we all face, there are many positive aspects of all our lives. All we have to do to be happy is focus more of our attention on the positive than on the negative. My beliefs in this area are not unfounded. There are many books written on this subject that give factual evidence that the way we think profoundly affects our lives. I am currently working with several high school faculty members to implement my class lesson plans into several classes already offered at the high school. I am very excited about my progress thus far, and hope to see some of my ideas become reality soon.
