Value of the Employee
Most people liked to be valued by people that they care about. The same works with employee/employer relationships. “Employees who feel valued and appreciated by their leaders are infinitely more likely to go above and beyond for the company and hold themselves accountable for their part of a project. Most importantly, they will be happier in their roles. If leaders disregard the importance of connecting with employees, they lose the benefit of a dedicated, long-term team.” (forbes) The important thing that needs to be looked at is how the leader can still connect to the employee and while still maintaining a position of authority.
#1: Failing to Respond to Employee Emails
As we know leaders are busy managing multiple people and tasks. Employees use email as way of communication as to get the answers they need in a simple and effect manner as well as a way for tracking purposes for future reference. Due to the nature of the business I am in, it is pennant to be able to have constant communication with our manager/ leader because there are situations that arise that need attention within a certain time period. My current team has recently been going through management changes. Before, my old manager left the company there were many discussions by my peers on the way “Leslie” used to communicate. Since “Leslie” was always in meetings and/or working on various projects she was rarely at her desk so, we would resort to communicate by email or instant messaging hoping for a quick response. “Leslie” would rarely answer emails or instant message in a timely fashion therefore making us to make the best decision we thought possible even if it was the right one. There were also instances that we as a team had never r...

American workers are suffering a massive case of burnout, reporting high levels of stress at work and extreme fatigue, researchers say. More than a third of employees say they are handling the stress in one of the worst way possible by working harder.” (cbsnews) Companies are now working towards work/life balance in order for their employees the freedom to balance their home life and still be able to keep producing a productive product for their work.
Conclusion
For true leader to be successful these leaders should be mindful to avoid any of the above “pitfalls”. By avoiding these “pitfalls” makes for a leader that will have a positive and productive team that will not only want to ensure the success of the team but the organization as a whole.
...y, a leader cannot control every aspect of the team or project working on, ergo an effective leader must understand this and adapt their leadership mind to different scenarios. Even the most inspired and passionate team still experiences rough patches no matter what the leader does. The best thing an effective leader can do in this situation is to remain professional and keep a tranquil attitude.
Most companies are just out there to make money and not care for the welfare of their employees. It may be difficult to see this as business has always been portrayed as a stimulator of the economy and always on the lookout for its employees. However, this is only because the companies that abide by such practices are given as examples and not the ones that do poorly. We oftentimes complain about the little petty things in life when we should be worried about the people who are suffering in our world. The saying always goes; you never know what you have till it’s gone. Unfortunately, this saying corresponds particularly well this
“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others” (Welch). Leadership is inspiring others to learn more, do more, and become more. Ineffective fail to possess certain characteristics which effective leaders do. Willingness to help others, selflessness, and strictness; these are the qualities of a both good and effective leader. Without these qualities, leadership would fail and being a leader would mean nothing.
Leaders who fail to provide true and proper command, inspiration, motivation, and strategic vision for their company leave a battered organization. An incompetent or dysfunctional leadership team misleads others which results in poor performance for individuals and organizations, which leads to a failed business. leadership theories all help leaders to lead followers in a productive way preventing this increasing effectiveness and give leaders ways to help followers with paths to follow to reach goals for both organization outcomes as well as individuals.
They may argue that jobs and benefits could be cut and could reduced desire for career advancement, but they are wrong. People get laid off from jobs everyday due to money budgets, lack of professionalism, or illegal actions. Companies do what’s best for their investment regardless, if minimum wage goes up or not. Whether they were to lay off people there will be extra workload divided among the employees left which is more than they are getting paid for. That could lead to the company having to pay their employees more.
A leader is not a super hero. They may be able to fix many problems, but they cannot fix them all. Some natural leaders may appear to be able to solve any issue. However, just as any other person, they have their own weaknesses. Just as superman was weak to kryptonite, some leaders may have shortcomings to public speaking, one on one communication, organization or hundreds of other weaknesses that could be catastrophic if put into the wrong situation. A leader who brushes up these weaknesses will be able to work through even the most trying conflict.
Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. Leadership is leading a group of people or company to reach a result or further and the organization. A leader is supposed to be an example of how all employees are expected to act and what they should be striving for. Good leaders also don’t use their position within a company to take advantage of the company and its employees. A good leader is supposed to be able to perform their job with high standards, efficiency, and honor. However, for every good leader, there are bad leaders and the worse the leader the more detrimental he or she becomes to employees and the company they run. Poor leadership skills can ultimately ruin a company 's chance of success. The attitude
What works for one may not necessarily work for another. Great leaders do not always follow the same rules or leadership script. They often seem to have a knack for bending or breaking the rules, they march to a different drummer, or they are cut from a different mold from the rest. They are usually self-made leaders rather than the mythical born leader. They are unique individuals not afraid to stand alone when necessary, and they are not afraid to challenge and even cross over established boundaries when needed. If there is a secret to leadership, it lies in the ability of people in leadership roles to do whatever it takes to make positive things happen around them. Leaders make things happen. They do not compromise success by taking a wait and see approach; they are proactive. This is the secret to their success – nothing more – nothing less. Great leaders lead with sweat, passion, and
Within leadership, there is the opportunity for many issues in itself. Leadership styles and practices, one of the most vital aspects determining productivity in organizations, is truly what sets the standard for every level of management within a company. If a proper leadership style is not chosen and followed to lead a team within an organization, there will be no one to follow and the team will certainly not be successful. The repercussions of poor leadership will certainly make a drastic difference in a company. This can include the needs of not only employees, but
The ways employees connect to the leader are important. If the employees do not like or trust the leader, this can impact the outcome of the job and create future hurdles. If you work for someone, you have to be able to relate to him or her. There has to be a formal relationship in order for the formal authority to be respected.
Although there are many outstanding, albeit necessary qualities of a good leader, it is the leader’s beliefs in which greatness is given its first breath, fostered by action, and spread throughout the institution. A great leader believes in encouraging, not destroying; in setting the precedence instead of yielding to prominence ; in collaboration, not division; in giving, not taking; and in having high standards and volunteering to be the first of many to be held to them. A great leader does not take advantage of the people being lead, but instead, creates an advantage for the people by giving them the opportunities to lead. Only when people take ownership of an institution will passion be cultivated, action be taken, and greatness be achieved.

Introduction People always talk about how important it is for companies to have a good leader, someone who not only keeps the blue numbers, but also achieves a loyalty from customers, pleasant working environment, successful business partnerships and ahead of the competition. To exercise effective leadership, the individual must meet certain parameters, which if they are carried out successfully all of them will ensure a long life to the organization. When in a leadership role, it is important to consider both the task and relationship aspects of a situation. Both of these aspects are essential in order to achieve the goal successfully. Task aspects are more or less directly related to achieving the end goal. It incorporates the actions required from a leader’s followers in order to achieve the desired results. It is much more geared towards performance than the relationship aspects are. Looking at the relationship side of leadership, it focuses more so on the followers and their well-being. A leader who is more relationship oriented will spend more time talking to their followers and trying to understand how to motivate them. They try to make more of a personal connection than task-oriented leaders do.

Most leaders also encourage for employees to participate in team building activities so that any employee would be more comfortable and have stronger chemistry when working with other members of their respective departments, and with other employees in the company as a whole. Leaders are capable of motivating their subordinates through a series of actions, such as words of encouragement, acts of appreciation, and allowing for employee involvement in key decision making processes in the company. For instance, leaders who appreciate, constantly encourage and assist in the improvement of the tasks performed by their subordinates will be able to build a strong and healthy employer-employee relationship. This good relationship instils the traits of confidence in employees and motivates them to enhance their performance. Excellent leaders commonly try to develop a dialogue or establish open communication with their subordinates. Employees who are well
