My chosen career field is Secondary Education with an emphasis in science. I first became interested in the science field at a young age, but it wasn’t until I had our current science teacher that I really found a passion for the subject. Being exposed to many different science classes throughout high school, I enjoyed expanding my knowledge in the field. I believe teaching in the science field will allow me to do the same for younger generations that my teacher did for me. Culture, art, science, philosophy, and technology are all advancing at a rapid pace and I want to equip young minds with knowledge of them to create a better future for themselves, and develop characteristics to make a difference in our world. Pursuing this career field will allow me to make an immeasurable impact in society. Throughout high school, I have always taken the initiative to help other classmates when they are struggling with a certain topic. While this is not exactly teaching, it gives me some experience and forces me to utilize my critical thinking skills to figure out how to best explain it to my peers. To help prepare for my career, I am also working on building a stronger resume that will help give me an edge when applying for a job. Participating in many sports, extracurricular activities, and community service projects is …show more content…
something I have done to keep me busy throughout high school that I plan on continuing throughout college. I have also pushed myself in high school to take advanced classes to help prepare for my college education. While working to receive a high school diploma, I have also been taking dual credit and online classes to also earn some college credit. Recently being accepted into the Honors Academy at UNL is just one step of many that I plan to take to keep pushing my education farther and farther to get the most out of my college experience. The Discovery Scholarship would help me achieve my goals by helping ease the financial burden of attending college.
It would allow me to focus more on my education rather than on the expense of college. This scholarship will help me to financially support myself on the journey to becoming the best educator I am capable of being. This scholarship would help me with the financial burden, offsetting the hours I will need to work at a job and thereby leave more time for exploring the science world and what all it has to offer, enabling me to teach using not only a classroom education, but also an education from real life
experience.
With a Wentcher Scholarship, I would be able to pursue my path to nursing by attending one of the top nursing programs in the country without having to worry over the burden of the cost of college. I would spend less time worrying about paying for college, and more time experiencing my future aspirations in college, and through that process, I would become a more knowledgeable, and overall better person. My goal is to one day improve the lives of children, who have impacted me personally and my views of the world greatly, and give back to the community that has enabled me to be in the position I am in
Our inquisitive America, extensively interested in science, geography, history, and art, had an enormous discovery sitting in its backyard. The Corps of Discovery – installed with dangerous travel, difficult interactions, and golden opportunities – was America’s greatest expedition, led by the famous Meriwether Lewis and his chosen partner, William Clark.
In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my
In middle school, I felt limited by the lack of opportunity in my community, but I made due with what I had. I took it upon myself to volunteer my extra time to tutor other students who didn’t understand the material as well. Tutoring benefitted me as well, for
This influenced me to choose a career where I can help people feel important and to help them. I have chosen to pursue a career in science with my end goal being either a college professor teaching biological sciences or a geneticist. Being around such influential and caring teachers is what drove me to consider teaching but on a college
The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever if there is an accident and some people died and lost their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s life, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
I’ve chosen to become a Music Educator as a career. I feel that music has had such a great impact on my life that I can give back to the future generations by teaching it. I have a great love for education, so this career is for me.
The Age of “Discovery”, a period that brought notable changes to regions spanning the globe, began in the 15th century. Following the end of the highly influential Renaissance period, many people in Europe developed an interest in the foreign lands of the world. This resulted in the beginning of the Age of Discovery, which was marked as the period of great global exploration and expansion. The country of Portugal fueled the start of this period. Portugal, which had been blocked from making advancements in trade in the past due to the overwhelming presence of more influential countries, spearheaded exploration during this time. After successfully taking control of regions in Africa and the Atlantic archipelagos following minor exploration expeditions,
I choose to research environmental science for my topic. I’ve always enjoyed nature and sciences and found this career very closely related to those interests. I wanted to find a career that involved interest I already had. There are many different sciences; this one was the one that stood out the most to me. I discovered this career after looking into possible career choices in the Air Force. The aspect of this career interested me, and quickly became a consideration for a future career choice. I choose to research environmental science so I would become completely aware of all the parts and aspects of being an environmental scientist and their impact in everyday life.
As an education major at State College, I’ve decided to become a teacher for several reasons. As I progressed through elementary, middle, and high school, many of my teachers were great role models for me. This has inspired me to become a role model for someone in the near future. My love for science and math has also influenced my desire to teach and make a difference in a child’s life. I want to teach students the subjects that I love so much. I want the feeling that I helped a child accomplish or learn something they couldn’t understand. One of the main reasons I want to become an educator is because I feel education has really lost teachers who truly love teaching and those who truly love teaching and those who have the desire to make a difference. I feel I can really help make a difference in the education world and bring back the love to teach.
To begin out of the countless professions one has to chose from in the world today I have chosen to become a teacher. I have chosen to become a teacher because I myself am a product of some whom I consider to be the best teachers in the world. As a child in North Carolina I was inspired by a wonderful woman named Mrs. Hollyfield. Mrs. Hollyfield taught me that no star was too far out of reach, if I put my mind to accomplishing my goal I could make it. Mrs. Hollyfield inspired me to be the best I could be at anything I wanted to be. As I have grown I have had other important teachers, some whom I am surrounded by daily whom inspire me to set out to accomplish my dreams. These wonderful inspiring people in my life have led me to the decision of becoming a teacher.
... After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Education, I plan to get a job as a teacher in an elementary school. I believe that there is a need for compassionate and caring teachers in elementary schools. At such a young age, I believe that it is important for elementary students to have positive role models in their lives.
When planning for my future, I first had to look at what profession I wanted to go into. I have had great teachers in my life that have inspired me and due to this I have decided I too would like to teach. I am interested in teaching History and Industrial Technology. To pursue this career, I will need to go to college and graduate with a teaching degree.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
There have been many factors that have inspired me to this career choice. Watching my teachers, both past and present, has inspired me to become a teacher. I have a genuine interest in lifelong learning and as such I have the desire to not only instil knowledge and values to others, but also encourage them to share my passion for learning. Social Justice and leadership roles at school, along with my extra-curricular involvement with Cowra Youth Council, have highlighted my ability to work with and for the benefit of young people. In essence I know that my abilities and aspirations will make me a good teacher.
