Just the thought of a a message or text on your phone screen can make you have the urge to look at it or take your time and reply back even if you were still in class causing damage and harm to the teaching environment. This issue of letting students have cellphones in class is a very big argument on both sides leading to many schools starting to give up and trying out new methods with cell phones. One after another schools are falling to the hands of cellphones. Although cell phones may give parents access to contact their child, schools should still ban cell phones in school because they cause major distractions to students that are using them, ruin the teaching environments the teachers has set up, and it may even distract other students.

Having cellphones in school may cause major distractions. According to the article “Schools seek balance for cellphones in class” saying “You’ll get kids saying “I’ll look something up for English,and while I’m here let me quickly check my Instagram or something.”Even though some students may use their cellphones for looking up stuff,they still can get distracted if they see a message or text. Some students may get distracted easier than other making them not want to work and look at somebody else’s cell phone.
