Business Ethics are a set of moral principles, that are established by corporations for rules and regulations. Ethics is the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligations. Such as employee theft and fraud, dishonesty and loafing on the job, substance abuse, absenteeism. Ethics are moral duties that many people use every day, ethics are the rules or standards principal of conduct how people live life and make decisions.

Business Ethics are a set of moral principles, that are established by corporations for rules and regulations. Such as employee theft and fraud. Fraud and theft have a lot in common. Both are criminal acts, and both are forcibly taking something from others without asking permission. However; business have come up with ethical values to maintain structure and integrity of the corporation. Theft means to take someone else’s property, either secretively or by force. In business, theft is to take or keep more than what is due such as salary, fines or payments or taking excessive benefits. Fraud occurs in the workplace when deceit or scam by one or more employees causes or ,may cause the employer or employee to lose property, money, or a valuable security or any service. This generally happens when employees steal merchandise or products from the company.
Ethics is a doing and learning experience which causes us as humans to keep an open mind to change. Generally, ethics ask us to live mindfully, to think how we act and even how we feel or do things, which can change the outcome. By doing these things people are separating their personal and professional ethics, having one set of standards for work and one for the rest of your life. Ethics in the workplace is a very important thing to have. Without a sense of ethicality in the workplace there are many things that could go wrong. You could even end up losing a job because of a lack of ethics, or other consequences could be felt due to a lack of caring or morality. The workplace is a place that you should show respect and dignity, and a deeper sense of ethics is very important in order to uphold these senses of morality. Workplace ethics, which include such things as behavior, integrity, commitment, teamwork, and other things, are important, if not required, in most workplaces and can help to improve performance and morale for workers and employers.
According to the philosophers, ethics is defined as a rule of conduct that is a way of showing and recognizing respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group of culture. It is important to determine the unethical behavior that unconcerned people does not understand especially in a workplace. In a work environment, an employee has the right to expect colleagues to act and live up according to the law. In an extensive viewpoint, all employees involve in theft as loafing and shirking which can in a way be viewed as crime. Most employees utilize office machinery and supplies for personal benefit. Most employees always make personal phone calls by using business phones at work. Subsequently, a number of employees also use company cars for personal reasons. Employee theft is varied and should not just be viewed as directly stealing money from the company’s account, as even doing personal stuff during work hours is theft (Jex & Britt, 2008).

In this situation, it is important to have set ethical standards that everyone abides by, that way everyone and every organization is on the same page. For instance, I worked at a restaurant, The Farmhouse, in high school where I opened and closed the store. This put me in charge of all the money the restaurant made that night while also having access to our restaurant’s safe. They only entrusted this privilege with a few people in order to prevent theft. Although I never stole from the restaurant’s safe, there had been problems in the past with workers leaking the safe’s combination and money being stolen. After this occurrence, the owners held a mandatory meeting where they re-informed every staff member of the restaurants ethical policies. Without standard ethical policies, the theft could have continued and hurt the business even more. If our owners couldn’t trust us to be ethical, they would either need to do everything themselves, or watch over us like hawks. When I was given this new duty, I felt obligated to follow the ethical policies and was motivated to work harder because I knew that they had trust in me to get the job done properly and right. Without standard ethics in the workplace, there will be mistrust and wrongful doings within the company that will only further hurt the
