I received feedback from both my supervisor and cooperating teacher. My supervisor addressed the shortcomings of my selected content level, my diction, classroom management, task, and pedagogy. .First, both my supervisor and cooperating teacher discussed how I went too in depth with my material, and the information went over their heads; therefore, they recommended choosing the most important and standards-based content. I was teaching them information that was not according to third grade standards. My supervisor identified two errors of speech. One being the use of the word “okay”, and the other due to the use of the word “and” in between a three digit number. The former implies a choice while the latter is incorrect. Both the teacher and the supervisor noticed that the class was a bit too talkative and the task seemed confusing. …show more content…
In the other blocks, I worked through the worksheet with them, and the students seemed to understand the assignment more. Both the supervisor and teacher instructed me to not have papers while presenting, because this behavior shows that the teacher did not adequately do his or her research. Despite all of these drawbacks to my lesson, the supervisor and teacher found multiple glows within my lesson. Both the teacher and supervisor strongly believed that my presentation and lesson plan were informative, succinct, engaging, and organized. They specifically mentioned the importance of my real-life connection through architecture and Minecraft. They did value one of my classroom management strategies in which I would instruct the class, “Raise your hand if you’re quiet”. Overall, both the supervisor and the teacher explained how my lesson was okay, but needed
In my Teaching Professions with Field Experience class, we were to create two lesson plans throughout the semester; one that involved the use of technology and the other without. The rules that went along with the lesson plans were as follows: the speaker is supposed to act out the lesson that they have prepared and their classmates were supposed to act accordingly to what grade level the lesson pertained to. Lastly, during the presentations, the students were to write three good qualities the speaker or the presentation had. In addition, they had to write one wish which was something a student thinks would make the lesson better. For the first project lesson I constructed, I incorporated the use of technology to discuss the identification and use of monochromatic colors for the sixth grade level.
Samantha Riggi, Department of Early Childhood Studies, California Baptist University ECH 461: Administration of Early Childhood Programs. Dr. Cammy Purper. June 9, 2024. Reflective supervision: All too often, staff members may feel underappreciated or not having the space to develop relationships with directors and colleagues. Reflective supervision is a form of supervision in which a director acts as a guide to support members of their staff with the hopes of increasing their reflective capacity.
For my final placement in early childhood, I was placed in a preschool classroom where my role was to showcase my skills as an educator. I took on my placement supervisor’s responsibilities and managed many of the classroom activities, circles, and meals. On the first day, I met with my placement supervisor and we went over expectations, classroom responsibilities, and curriculum planning. Her role was to supervise me at placement and be there for support but allow me to lead the classroom with the other educator. I expressed my hopes and ambitions for the placement, and together we cooperatively made weekly goals to achieve the requirements set by my program. For this reason, I feel our partnership is an example of a team circumstance. My placement supervisor would check in on me in the middle of the week and she would help me

I am currently in a leadership position but have often wondered want makes a good leader. From the course I have identified that EQ, IQ, and SQ are the fundamental qualities that make a good leader. I will try and be aware of the needs and emotions of my team and use this to build my team. I remember clearly an example Boniface give us about a company that merged, with two departments that do the same work. The first team leader said to his team all our jobs are on the chopping block because he was worried about his own job while the second
Within both ‘Great Expectations’ and ‘Jane Eyre’, Dickens and Bronte present examinations of social status and wealth through the use of their main protagonists Pip and Jane, in turn, both are highly critical of the existing Victorian class hierarchy. Both novels are told from the perspective of the main protagonists and take the form of a bildungsroman allowing the reader to witness their desire for self-improvement which drives both novels. However, the narrative structure of both novels varies drastically; in ‘Great Expectations’ Pip’s journey to happiness is circular and ends where it began whilst, Jane’s journey takes a linear form and happiness is found in a place far from home.
Operation mangers should also have the same skills as functional manager but they are responsible in managing day to day operations and they should also possess the authority to hire and fire employees.
While being verbal they also wrote everything that was said on the board. So there also was some visual which helped kids when filling out their chart. It is always important to include different learning styles because everyone is different. Seeing how to do so was very helpful in how I will do so in my class. The room was set up nicely there were posters on the wall that were informational. All of the desks were turned towards the front of the classrooms that all students were able to see the board. I got so many ideas in my head now for setting up my class. In all the room gave off a home type of feel to ensure students were comfortable. The students knew the expectations of them in the classroom. As soon as they entered the class they got situated in their seats and put away their phones. This action shows that the teachers established rules ahead of time. If rules are present the class is sure to run smooth so I’m sure to set rules the first day. While one teacher taught the other walked around and answered questions. While answering questions she also passed out coins that students collect to get extra points. Both teachers had the same role and they worked together to accomplish a goal. This showed me exactly how important it is to work together as a
As I have completed my first week and had my first supervision, I had to prepare by doing the following below. I ensured that throughout the week I kept a notebook pad with me at all times to document all learning experiences, questions, and concerns I had from each department I explored. I also, made sure to take time out my week to plan the groups I wanted to facilitate, that would be beneficial to the agency. While taking time to do research, I made sure to reflect through my learning plan what I expected and wanted to gain from my internship. Additionally, for future supervision meetings, I will continue to do the following above but add in experiences that I would like to reflect upon that brought upon ethic dilemmas or scenarios that I was unsure about handling.
Today is the second session that I had counselor with this particle client. He came in to see me for the same problem that he had before. But except this time client had be doing a little than before. Before I started with the interview I had use the five stages and dimension of the interviews a client. I want to have an empathic relationship with my client, and gathering story and find the strength of my client is part of getting to know my client. This time I had set a realistic goal that my client can work toward without feeling that he is not in control of making the decision. The next is stage restoring finding what is not working now and trying to find an alternative that will work then take the action of letting the client go or
After finishing the teaching part of the lesson, I realized that not everything goes according to plan. For example, in our lesson plan, we had the explain portion detailed and outlined to teach students the technical terms of what they were seeing in the stations and other activities and make it a collaborative effort within groups to work with the vocabulary words. However, the teaching of the plan was not well executed. Also, I learned that teaching a topic does not have to be boring or just full of worksheets. Fun, engaging lab stations and interactive activities can fulfill the standards and requirements just as well, if not better, than basic worksheets and PowerPoint lectures. Lastly, I realized that lesson planning and teaching require a great deal of effort and work, but it is all worth it when a light bulb goes off in a students’ head and they learn something new and are excited to be learning and extend their science
temper their need for public acclaim and financial reward with strong intrinsic motivations” (George, Sims, McLean, & Mayer, 2007).
Also, in the beginning of the lesson I gave the students clear directions of what I expected of the students. I had the students repeat the expectations back to me which was a success since they understood and did what was expected. After the activity, the students were supposed to complete a word sort and then a writing prompt. During the writing and the sort, I did not give clear instructions which affected the students and how they completed the assessment. The next time I teach a lesson, I need to focus more on directions and giving detailed
On Tuesday, September first I met with my academic advisor, Dr. Ana Londono for the first time. We met in her office on the first floor of Young Hall. She informed me that it was only her third week as an advisor at Lindenwold University. I was a bit nervous after hearing that because my major is Pre-Nursing and I had a lot of questions to ask. One of my main reason of making an appointment with my advisor was to ask when I would be able to apply for nursing school. I took a lot of college credit classes in high school. So Dr. Londono and I went over my high school transcript and figured out what classes I had already taken. Lindenwood has a great connection with Goldfarb School of Nursing. On the Lindenwold website they provide a list of required
