Supervision Meeting Reflection

As I have completed my first week and had my first supervision, I had to prepare by doing the following below. I ensured that throughout the week I kept a notebook pad with me at all times to document all learning experiences, questions, and concerns I had from each department I explored. I also, made sure to take time out my week to plan the groups I wanted to facilitate, that would be beneficial to the agency. While taking time to do research, I made sure to reflect through my learning plan what I expected and wanted to gain from my internship. Additionally, for future supervision meetings, I will continue to do the following above but add in experiences that I would like to reflect upon that brought upon ethic dilemmas or scenarios that I was unsure about handling. The more social workers engaged in discussions with their supervisors about ethical dilemmas that has arisen, the more they will become comfortable facing their true feelings of worries, failures and doubts. Practitioners will develop the instinct of when they have been faced with a difficult situation and how to properly handle them. Even when practitioner has been challenged with a case that they are unaware of how to move forward, they would have developed the necessary skills to be able to confront the issues and talk about it with their supervisor. As practitioners reflect, they will continue to grow and learn as professionals. Reflecting upon cases, clients, and personal bias or worries, will help build understanding of why certain issues are lines of boundaries that should not be crossed. Additionally, practitioner will develop alternative ways of how to turn an unprofessional dilemma into a professional one, all by seeking help from their supervisors or
