I created this specific kids summer camp, because I wanted every children to be included instead of having a cheerleader camp or karate camp. We are responsible for general safety and to have a great time. Our goal is to have the children learn in a fun, positive and respectful way. We’d like to try to incorporate educational subjects into camp and encourage them to learn in an enjoyment way.The lesson plans serves and helps children develop in all four areas of development. In physically, children are participating in fitness, soccer, running around. In this camp, physically is involved in so many ways- children are constantly are moving, using their muscle and strength. In emotionally, they can learn what emotion to put in camp. In the setting
First of all, doing nothing sparks creativity. While parents create schedules for their children to attend multiple activities or summer camps they tend to forget what they did as a child. When I was growing up we played in the field, went exploring and rode our bikes through
Develop camp programs and schedules, plan nutritious menus and snacks, and recruit guest speakers, review and update risk management plan
Always need time to communicate with the parents either formal or informal so we can build trust and be cultural sensitive. We can also provide parents with support and education with whatever the child’s needs might be. For the children we help them understand the language and reasoning skills. Math and numbers can be taught is so many ways through play that the children won’t get stressed. Nature and science when we provide them with things that are naturally in their surroundings they get a chance to investigate. Promote acceptance of diversity and do things to help all the children learn something new and interact with different activities when sharing their
Teachers have a significant role with the children; they are their leader in learning and development. Teachers have to plan effectively so the students will be able to learn and grow from the different activity’s this it why it is important that teacher take the responsibility and know the goals of the programs and their curriculum so they can plan accordingly. Establishing reciprocal relations with the parents of a child are important. Teacher should seek to know more about the families and their culture. With this information’s teachers are able to enhance the curriculum. Communication is the key when it comes to relationships with
This framework is used by ECE to guide and develop quality education programs. Upon planning a learning experience, small group or whole class experience, I have effectively incorporated one or more of the learning outcomes. The EYLF is made up of principles, practices and five outcomes which enhance and develop a child’s learning through play-based experiences (EYLF, 2009, p.9). Each outcome contains sub-strands which guide your experience and focus on the child’s social and emotional development, as well as language, numeracy and literacy skills (Commonwealth of Australia, 2017). Using the EYLF as a curriculum framework allowed me to develop and create skilled appropriate lessons, experiences which challenged and captivated the children’s attention, and I gained appropriate information to assess the children’s individual abilities (Australian Government: Department of Education and Training,
The first few days of camp consisted of me leading ice-breaker games that helped campers get to know each other. As the week progressed, the activities slowly strode away from introductory games to activities that reflect the theme of the week. Through activities and games, I was able to get a firm understanding of what kind of children I was working with, and how to approach them when conflicts arise. I was seen as a respective leader that tended to both the interests and problems of all campers; ensuring everyone, including other camp assistants, enjoyed the short time we had together.
The environment of the children is another important aspect to look for in a program. The area that the children will be spending most of their time in should not be too overwhelming. This means that the area should be a calming and enjoyable place for the child. An infant and toddler program should have adequate space for a toddler to be able to explore around his or her surroundings. With a safe, child accessible environment the child should be allowed t...
Having spent the better part of six summers hiking, cooking, orienteering, and practicing archery on the trails of Huddart Park, California, summer camp became a very precious time of my life. When I entered high school, I began working as a Unit Aide at my camp which meant I had the privilege to now teach young girls a whole slew of tasks such as survival skills, first aid, and knife skills. While attending Woodside Priory High School, I heard about similar activities such as archery and overnights that Mountain Camp counselors hosted. Chris Gregory encouraged me to look into the camp and see if it was something I might take interest in, and I soon discovered that it definitely captured my attention. I adore working with kids and would especially
Classroom environment is extremely important for successful learning. As both an educator and parent I want a positive learning experience for my students and personal children. A classroom environment; however is more than just a look or design of a room. It is all the elements combined. I think students, teaching methods, and the teacher make up the diversity of a classroom environment.
My Philosophy Statement Education is a very important aspect of our lives. It is our education that makes us who we are and determines what we become. Therefore, education is not something to be taken lightly. As a teacher, my goal is to provide the best possible education for my students. Every student is unique and unique.
I want to teach because I want to pass on my knowledge to a new generation. I want to teach because I want to be challenged. After all of my previous work experience, I have found that I want to work in a profession that requires me to work on the edge of my comfort zone. Teaching puts me on that edge in that I have to rely on being able to improvise my lesson plans as not all students learn the same, so I would differentiate my teaching methods to reach as many students as possible. Having that challenge of working outside my comfort zone also means that every day will be different, so I will always look forward to the next one. Growing up I have always tried to be a positive role model and I think that there is no better way for me to do that than by teaching our youth. Teaching allows me to instill critical ethics and values effecting the social development of my students. I would do this by having clear rules and appropriate punishments for breaking those rules. In addition, I would introduce my students to new cultures and traditions that will allow them to have a better understanding of others, therefore providing students with experience in socializing with those cultures that they can carry forward with them throughout their life.
Ever since I was in the seventh grade I knew that teaching was the profession for me. I had a wonderful teacher, Cathy Adkins, who was and still is my greatest inspiration. She was not like any teacher I had in the past. She was different. I call it the “personal effect,” because she just wasn’t a teacher, she was a friend. I know we are taught not to make friends with students, but it really does make a difference. I want to be the kind of teacher that a student feels comfortable coming to about anything, one that can take time out of there personal life because a student needs them. I want to make a difference; I will make a difference, even if it is just one child. Maybe that one child could change the world.
In this essay, I will talk about the components of a lesson plan, the benefits of planning with clear and appropriate goals, selecting age-appropriate goals and objectives that align with state academic content standards, and selecting goals and objectives that are differentiated for varying abilities and learning styles and for multiple intelligences.
During my public school years, I played practically every role possible in the classroom. At one time or another, I was the most popular student, the kid everybody picked on, the genius, the dummy, the teacher’s pet, and the student that the teachers wished would stay home. After playing all these different roles, I’ve come to the conclusion that each one is needed for a well-rounded classroom. Each has something special and significant to offer to the classroom. I think that these students should be allowed to interact and influence each other in order to broaden their overall thinking. No one’s ideas should be disregarded or thought less of than anyone else’s, as is common place in many public schools these days. If the teacher, who is usually the one disregarding these ideas, would just take the time to listen, they too might learn something new or exciting. This is the reason I want to become a teacher.
